“When my husband and I walked into this place we immediately felt transported to Miami Beach? California? with a lively, hip vibe! The contemporary, Industrial style provided a very cool atmosphere in which to enjoy a craft cocktail (me) or house brewed beer (my husband). No entrees are offered here but there is a curated selection of small plates. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his selection from the oyster bar which he found to be very fresh and well prepared. Our simple salad was delicious and the pork belly with pickled slaw was heavenly!!! Don't leave here without trying the pork belly!!! We also shared duck confit and the most delicious roasted cauliflower I've ever had. We found the staff to be super friendly and efficient. When we first arrived we saw a lot of families with little kids enjoying thin crust pizzas, then later in the evening, the 20 and 30 somethings arrived in droves. We are so happy to have this fun, happening place right here in our hometown!”

Free short ferry ride to the island, restaurant and boat marina on the Connecticut River that can be reached by car, bike or boat. And it hits you with such a delightful vengeance, simply awesome. The gleam of the sun reflecting on the waters before you, the small pleasure boats and big yachts gently moving up and down in the waters, the shores across, the sound of the seaplane landing and taking off at on the CT River, dropping off passengers and taking in new ones is something from a long gone by era. The settings of Siren Kitchen & Bar Restaurant are spectacular and that's why we keep going back. Yes…it is overpriced for this seasonal ‘island” restaurant. It’s location, location, location! In this new world where we are all locked in to stay in the US for the next year or so, it’s a good place. We do go back many times… the boat ride over from Long Island Sound or the Connecticut, the location, the beautiful fresh water that leads out to Long Island Sound keeps calling us back time and time again. (but I wish they served breakfast. What a way to start the day out…) Cheers!”

“This place is amazing! Went for lunch with 2 meat eaters, a vegan and a vegetarian and we all left happy. The menu has something for everyone, the food was creative, house made and fresh. But please take my word for it- do not skip dessert. They have a pastry chef there that makes beautiful and delicious things- they even make their own ice cream and the presentation is really special. Can’t wait to go back :)”

“The oldest and longest running Inn and restaurant in the country!!! The food was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend the steak sandwich, clam chowder and potato cakes. The decor is extremely well kept vintage and we thought it was very cool to eat in the same vibe as someone would have in 1776. Made for an excellent afternoon in Essex.”

“Had a great dinner with great service there last night. The food was excellent, perfectly prepared (I had the flat iron steak, my wife had the scallops). Great selection of craft beer with 20 on tap. I recommend you go upstairs to the bar to see the current list as they are constantly rotating taps.
