“I live on the border of West Haven and New Haven, so I have a lot of above average Chinese places to pick from when I'm in the mood. Even though T Bear forgot dumplings in the very first time I ordered from them, I called once I noticed and was told I'd be remembered as the "dumpling man" the next time I ordered and would be given dumplings without charge on my next order, which I felt was a fair compromise. We all make mistakes. Sure as the sun rises in the East, on my next order, I called and introduced myself as the "dumpling man" and was promptly remembered along with the redemptive dumpling agreement. When I went to pick up, I was given my entire order, dumplings including, along with a free iced-tea, which was surprisingly good and refreshing. Food was also delicious and fresh. Dumplings were ok. 5/5 for good food and business ethics.”

“This was my first time ordering from Noodle Shack. It took some time for them to make the food but it was 100% worth the wait. The chicken was beautifully seasoned and the shredded chicken salad was AMAZING. Perfectly spiced and a good portion for the price. “Loved this place! Such a comfy and cozy environment with friendly staff. They had a very large variety of vegan options which was great for me BUT I do think they add honey to vegan options so I will probably have to ask next time to avoid it. The apple cardamom jam says vegan but tastes exactly like honey so I'll have to ask more about the ingredients on vegan things next time but The baklava was absolutely amazing and the oat milk latte I still crave! Love that proceeds go to refugee women. Highly recommend!”

The sampler we had was so good I wish we got two. Not because of the portion size but because everything on it was that tasty. The sauces paired well with corresponding sample and the beef rib soup I ordered was flavorful. I am not one for presentation, I am all about quality, but I would say that the dishes were brought to the table in a picturesque manner (I wish I grabbed a shot before digging in). We were offered their “signature lavender lemonade”, which again was picturesque, and would have tasted nice with some alcohol. Not that it tasted bad, my wife and I just don’t drink a lot of sweet drinks. This place is a must try for the local New Haven area.”

“I gave it five stars because it deserves it. The chicken sandwich is so good I had three in a week & a half. My only gripe, the only thing. They only give you three ketchup packets. The massive amount of fries they give you required at minimum five ketchup packets. But, the sandwich is 5 star. Haven Hot flavor is the best. Also, don’t call Hot Haven, that’s a yoga studio. Found that out when I tried to order a chicken sandwich over the phone from them.”

“Cute little Asian shop with very reasonable prices. Everything is organized with care with hand labeled signs and process. The selection is limited, but there are a wide range of spices, noodles, and sauces available, along with some home kitchen/bath items, and very basic produce. The Korean lady running the shop is very kind and reminds me a bit of my mother in law. Haven't had the famous bimbimbop but plan on coming back for it some time soon. I definitely feel good shopping here to support local business, especially during covid times”

“Blue State Coffee is a small and central cafe in New Haven. I came here with my wife to get a take away coffee. We both ordered a Cappuccino and they offer it with different types of milk. Even though the service was not especially friendly it came quick and the coffee was good. I liked the glassware coffee extractor as decoration while you wait for your coffee. They have some small tables where you will find lots of students working with their laptops or chatting. All in all it's a nice atmosphere and one can get good coffee in the medium price segment and experience of students life style around Yale University.”
