The menu is varied with many burger options and daily specials. Most dishes come with a side of spicy rice and red beans. I had the pot roast sub. “It's an English pub, not a British one! ...an ongoing conversation with the service staff that is sure to entertain. Apparently, many patrons confuse the two. We frequent the H&J for lunch because it's convenient and the food is well above average. I've tried many of the dishes but gravitate toward the fish and chips or curry dishes. While I don't drink, my lunch group speaks highly of the beer selection... which is definitely part of the lure. The seating area and bar can be dark (often preferred) but they have outdoor shaded seating, weather permitting. It can be crowded, depending on the day, and that may slow the service a bit. That said, it's definitely worth stopping in!”

“I have lived here all my life. And my parents went so it's probably close to 100 years old yet it is quaint. It is historic. Thd food is outstanding. Its casual. There is handicapped parking. Outdoor eating pretty much picnic style, like back in the day. Not expensive. And if you are not full or you really love it as most of us do. They have a Fish Smoke House on Property so you can buy more to go. Anything from Fish Spread to Smoked Salmon by the pound. This is truly a remarkable establishment. That everyone who eats fish must try. It's right on Pasadena Blvd. You cant miss it!!! They do not sell gift certificates.”

My date was running a hour late so i sat at the bar and when he arrived was immediately seated despite it being 6pm on a Saturday. The hostess was great. The oysters Rockefeller was incredible. I had the mahi and it was the best I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection. There are way more snow birds than locals here... Locals are missing out. I'll be back next week.”

We asked Laura (a worker) about things to do around the city and she took time out of her day to write us a list of 5 things we must see and visit on our trip. She didn’t have to do that and could’ve just passed along typical answers, but she seemed to be a genuine, wonderful person who cared and enjoys her job.
