“I used to read about places like this in old books but I must say this brings a lot of nostalgia back for my grandfather to show my nephews how it was originally started long ago. This makes for a great family photo on how hotdog carts originally looked. Not to mention those dogs are coddled like a baby by this guy I like it. “So delicious!! The manager is incredibly kind and the sushi chef is a genius. Only place I will sit at the sushi bar an allow the chef to make whatever he wants for me. I’m consistently impressed with the chefs innovative dishes and welcome trying new things. I would recommend trying it, and calling ahead for big parties is also likely a good idea as it’s not the biggest space. But this makes for a personable and enjoyable experience!”

“We had our first breakfast today at this awesome restaurant. The avocado toast was delicious with a nice garlic and lemon flavor. The goat cheese frittata was savory and seasoned perfectly. The bread is amazing and everything was homemade. The chef and his wife are French and both are warm, friendly and welcoming. The Gulf Gate area is funky with lots of dining options but the Lovely Square is our favorite spot. We will return again for more of this amazing food.”

The owners man the kitchen and the tables, So right away you get TLC The food was home cooked style, fresh, great ingredients. Real French menu items, including a good selections of mussels and sauces. I had cassoulet, sausage and duck served with beans. Crepe Suzette for dessert. “This little gem of a restaurant recently opened and I made immediate plans to visit it having enjoyed many Vietnamese restaurants back in Chicago. They opened at a great location and have a clean, simply designed space that echoes their simple and moderately priced menu. I am a huge fan of rice noodles and this is one of their specialties. The entire menu lists maybe 15 entrees and nothing is priced over $13. The rice noodle dishes come in a huge bowl that seemed bottomless as I tried to finish it. I had the chicken and it was grilled perfectly. The noodles were delicious. My wife had the shrimp vermicelli and loved it. I might add that she also had a great deal if difficulty in finishing her bowl. The staff is friendly and their is plenty of parking. I highly recommend it.”

“For starters ask for Leah, she’s the manager and waitstaff. I told her recently that she’s the best server I’ve ever encountered. And I’m old! My wife especially likes this place because of all the vegan and health oriented offerings. I’m a carnivore and their bacon is homemade and superb. The waffles covered in fruit are excellent along with many many other items. I’ve never had a bad meal there, I’ve always had great service and smiles from the staff.
