“Although this counter service restaurant is fine for a quick lunch, it will not give you the experience you might expect in a typical Mexican restaurant. To begin with, you don't get the common starter of chips and salsa. You will get chips with your meal, but no salsa to accompany them. The food is not prepared until you order so it's hot and fresh. My bowl with crispy fish was good but my husband found his cheese enchiladas to be sadly lacking...in cheese! There are many hot sauces available if you enjoy trying various levels of heat, so be wary! All in all, it was fine--clean, quick, attractive, conveniently located.”

“This is my go to local bbq restaurant. I always like their beef brisket and the wide variety of sides where you do not have to settle for fries all the time. To avoid being turned away, make sure you call before you go because they would close early sometimes when they are out of food especially on Fridays and Saturdays dinner time. Good service always. The collard greens are cooked on the sweet side (which was a surprise when I first tried it). Deviled eggs, black eyed peas, baked beans, small potatoes and fried okra are always delicious.”

“Came here for brunch. The food ordered by everyone was all really good. I had the french toast, which comes with strawberries, blueberries, candied pecans, syrup on the side, whipped cream on top, and some blueberry jam on the side. “We arrived at Metro Diner 20 minutes before closing time. We honestly had no idea that they closed at 3 p.m. However, we were cordially welcomed... They didn't bat an eye. Absolutely no rushing us. All the food was fresh and hot and absolutely delicious! (hello Chicken and Waffles!!) The manager came out and was talking with us, and actually remembered my husband from another location. Our waitress was an absolute doll. ❤ They were so friendly, and so nice, and everything was so good! By far this is one of the BEST experiences we have ever had at Metro Diner... which is saying a lot, because this is one of our favorite places to eat! :)”

“The service was excellent and the dining area was very nice. The food was pretty good, but really not that great, especially for the price. Some of the homemade pastas were a high point (like the gnocchi), although a bit overpriced. The calamari appetizer was bland and forgettable, and the dish was at least two thirds fried zucchini (which was over cooked mush). The bone in veal chop was a real low point. It was cooked unevenly, and a pretty low quality cut to start with. It came with "Italian fries and vegetable of the day" as sides. The vegetables was some peppers, broccoli, and carrots in a bit of garlic. Not bad in anyway, but it was just a spot filler. The "fries" were shoestring potatoes. Like the crispy kind that come from a can. Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt these were made in house, but if the end result is no different than the stuff I can get off the shelf at a gas station, it does not bode well. It also made no sense as a pairing to the main dishes it was served with. If I go back, I'll stick to pasta and maybe the pizza and avoid the higher end entrées.”

The Balsamic Glaze was a nice touch, although I would have liked it to impart more flavor. Overall a good shareable dish. Beer cheese pretzel - Better than expected. Pleasantly strong garlic taste blended well with the warm roux. The pretzel was okay; the cheese sauce is the best part of this dish. Highly recommend. Reuben spring rolls - I have not tasted many Reuben sandwiches to compare these too. The savory meat flavor paired well with the sweet mustard. Worth trying if curious. My review focuses on food ordered because I came to talk with friends after an art exhibit and didn’t experience a majority of the pub.”

“My first experience at this restaurant was great. Everything was fresh and the sushi rolls were great. However, this time, the hot food tasted microwaved and was either very hot, or cold in some parts. Sushi rice was overcooked, was extremely mushy, and had the texture of something awful. The rolls were also significantly smaller than my previous visit, as well as having fewer pieces, though that may be based on the roll, but the menu doesn't say how many pieces come with the roll. I also ordered a water, and it tasted like something straight from a toilet. Giving it a 3 instead of a 1 because maybe it was just a rough night, because the first time was so good. The staff are also very nice and are one of the best parts about eating here.”
