“Visited in Feb- This is REAL Hawaiian food. Every bite was delicious. We enjoyed everything we tried! Our server was a bit tough to work with though, she didn’t seem to understand our order, but everything came out fine. Haupia was to die for. “Good Mexican, not great. There is an amazing Mexican place in Kaneohe that I was constantly comparing this place to so I was a little disappointed. However, the atmosphere is so much fun. It’s very authentic, had live music, the staff was friendly and the service was fairly quick. There is complimentary chips and salsa, and there is a wide variety of options. I would like to go back and try something else. I had the tostada salad and my husband had the California burrito. Their pork is very flavorful and delicious. That was my favorite thing I tried. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge!”

“Hadn't visited since shelter-in-place took effect and decided to stop in on Memorial Day just to see if we could pick up dim sum without phoning ahead... YES! Even if it was after the lunch hour at around 2 p.m., most of our cravings were satisfied with our requested items available, with just a few of the fried things like taro and garlic eggplant that weren't. The workers are usually swift with their speaking and moving around, as we have learned you have to flag and stop them whenever you get the chance, but this time the woman helping us was really attentive and suggested a lot of items... i think because they wanted to sell as many things as they could: noodles, hot dishes, roast duck... The sign outside said takeout and no cash, but when we paid and were ready to charge the bill, they asked if we wanted to pay cash and offered the discount (they used to offer in the past). They seemed well organized and had the waiting chairs in the dining area spaced out for customer safety. Glad we were able to enjoy and support them at the same time.”

“Nice prices. Very small establishment. That hole in the wall. It is a take away type of place. The phone kept ringing and alot of people come by and pick up food. Because they take a while to cook the food if you walk at the counter. For our garlic chicken and egg plate took about 10 min. I think it took long because of the phone orders. Everyone the 4 different parties that picked up food commented how they liked their food. I liked it. Very tasty. Would want to try other foods the next time I come again”

“Letting you all know up front, this place only takes cash, so come prepared. There's also no ATM on site, so you're walking a block or so if all you're carrying is plastic. Parking wasn't as bad as some let on, and seating wasn't an issue either. We visited on a Wednesday evening, so maybe that's the key. I got the kalua and ribs, both of which were awesome. I didn't try the poi, but the guys I was with (who had never had it) said it wasn't bad. It's definitely got to be an acquired taste kinda thing, but if it's your thing, I'm guessing this poi would deliver. I'm not native to Hawaii, but even I could tell the food was pretty authentic. The flavors were simple but rich. Really good food overall. Service was awesome, and our server was very personable. They went over the menu with us, and let us know what was up with the condiments. The place itself isn't sexy, and the building is pretty much a hole in the wall. That being said, these kinds of places typically deliver, and this one is no exception. They have been doing this a while (since the 40's or so), and it shows in the food. So long as that's the case, I can forgo the fancy decor.”
