“Waioli Tea House used to be the home of one of the big old monied families. They let Robert Louis Stevenson have a hut here to live and write. His hut is there (restored). He and Mark Twain and several other literary greats lived here in Hawaii. The Waioli Tea House ran here from 1922 till about 2017. I enjoyed that and the Tea time very much. The vibe is less local now, and there's no tea house or its menu. The kitchen and bake shop is now run by the Salvation Army as a work program. Foods good, and you can still see the grounds, hut and get married at the church next door in the shared parking lot.”

“Sometimes going with no expectation brings you a positive result. Good quality buffet. Small place with limited food item. Salad, and entree with sides. There’s home baked desserts. The warm entree of the day and curry were very yummy. It tasted like it was prepared with good intention. Beautiful tree in the back yard of the temple.”

“Great lunchtime dining spot in the downtown business district. They do have a couple tables for dine in guests, but this is primarily a take out counter. Nice mix of sushi bentos, poke bowls and donburi style Japanese foods. Most items come with miso soup.”

“Delicious local smoothies with a tropical emphasis on smoothie selections! Local sourced ingredients make this a must go to kine place! It’s in front of marukame udon noodles so you can devour a smoothie for dessert after a delicious udon bowl! Try the Hawaiian wild and the cranberry cool as they are dank!”

“This was a interesting find in the heart of Downtown Honolulu. It isn't everyday that you find Eastern European food in a Filipino restaurant. This simple and cheap grab and go gut buster Piroscki shop was fairly decent. I have to say, for a little restaurant in the downtown area, the service was very friendly and quick. I was immediately asked what I wanted with a smile and graciously thanked. Even asked if I needed help by someone working hard in the kitchen that didn't noticed the other lady had already attended to me. The pirosckis were hot and fresh, but deep fried, so they are why I call them gut busters. Probably just what you need after a heavy night of drinking in the morning. Ordered the beef, cabbage and cheese which was a mildly seasoned filling that went well with the deep fried pasty covering. One thing for sure, the price was right. It came to exactly $2 with tax, so it made for a cheap snack that didn't break the wallet and was probably a much better choice then ordering from the McDonald's dollar menu. They also had a very reasonable lunch combination plate with fried calamari and salad for only $5.50. So hard to get a cheap deal these days and this place has got them. If a piroscki is not what you are in a mood for, the other side of the restaurant is Vicky's and they have assume Filipino food. There is plenty seating inside if you want to dine in and avoid the riffraff on Ft. Street Mall.”

“Cool thing was order downstairs and eat upstairs. There are a lot of homeless around.”

“Convenient location for downtown workers or people having to transfer from bus... Located on Hotel St across from Ross.. Food is served in a timely manner.. I only have 2 complaints about this place... The apple slices are 8 out of 10 times not crispy... I even received some that were expired a couple of times.. Second one is really beyond their control.. but consumers need to know, especially the ones that are commuting alone or the many teenagers I see that get off at Fort Street Mall en route to school... There are A LOT of homeless people there... many with mental health problems... Many are either filthy or threatening if not both.. There are some that are just down on their luck too.. But please use caution if in the area...”

“Reliably good, reasonably priced (cold and hot) sandwiches, soups, and salads including leafy greens and pasta salads. Friendly and efficient service, too. The combos are a nice deal - I like getting a soup + salad or soup + sandwich. They also cater my office's meetings quite often; they can cater both breakfast (pastries and breakfast sandwiches, plus coffee) and lunch (mostly sandwiches for us). Some of my coworkers have said some of their catered sandwiches a bit boring after a while, so you may consider specifically requesting the types of sandwiches you prefer.”

“If you want a good sandwich made on soft bread and filled with meat and vegetables this is where you'll find it. Their sandwiches are better than Subway. They have a papaya seed dressing that I pour over my sandwich and it makes it taste even better. They also make salads if you're not in the mood for a sandwich. They are located on the ground level of the Davis Pacific Center facing Queen Street. They open for breakfast and lunch. They mainly cater to the downtown crowd. The sandwiches come in 8 inch or 16 inch. If you are having a group lunch meeting, they make sandwich platters that are reasonably priced. Each platter contains 3 kinds of sandwiches and they're cut into 4 inch pieces. They do get busy at noon so I recommend calling in your order early if you have a short lunch break.”

“My wife and I have been to India. We practically lived there for over 2 months. Hands down, Kamana Kitchen is the best Authentic Indian food you can get on Oahu. Kamana Kitchen maid us feel like we were back in Goa at Anjuna beach eating at one of their many Indian restaurants. Place is way cleaner and healthier than any restaurant in India. The price is worth every penny. Staff is actually from India. Generous portions. And most of all I can’t wait to back and eat there again. This will definitely be one of our go to places for Authentic Indian food.”

“What? No sweet sour spare ribs, no chili mix? I'm in shock... I ordered the spicy chicken special... it's very spicy but it would be better if the chicken pieces were crisper. The mac salad has tuna and shredded carrots, a first for me and I've eaten at a lot of L&L locations. All in all, a nice, clean location with plenty of seating and the prices are reasonable and the portions are large so it's a 4-star rating even if they don't have my two favorite dishes.”
