“Delicious ice cream flavors! It’s a chilly day in Galena so we planned to only stop to check out the ice cream flavors (all made in-house) - and we couldn’t help but to order a few. We tried coconut, strawberry cheesecake, Cookie Monster, and Ferraro Rocher. There are all sorts of fun and interesting flavors are available, in addition to an assortment of ice cream bars and other treats. We can’t wait to get back to try more treats here!”

“I really enjoyed this tour. I noticed the remarks about it being cheesy. I, for one thought the "cheesiness" added more fun to it. Jay the guide was incredibly likable. He was genuine in his interest in ghosts and Galena. It's really nice to see people enjoy what they do for a living and though I'm sure he has done that tour a million times over he still seems to love it even if there is only one person or fifteen. He is very well suited for the job. A fun and entertaining time I will remember forever!”

“We stayed at the eagle ridge resort and ordered delivery for a large group. They had 8 pizzas ready and on our doorstep within 1 hour. The pizza was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. Much better than the chain stores and you could tell the quality of the ingredients.”

Savory Kitchen food is amazing. from the start the meal was perfect. the shrimp appetizer salad with homemade dressing. perfectly cooked steak medallions and rich gooey chocolate cake the homemade whip creame. the owners/ chef Jim and Mike are delightful. can't wait for my next visit. highly recommend this place.”

“This is not a typical murder mystery dinner. I would label it a history lecture with mediocre food. My filet mignon was very pink; my mom's was very well done. The vegetables are from the freezer, not fresh. It was interesting hearing local history, but none of the "mysteries" were actually solved.”

“Stopped in without a reservation, but we were able to get a table immediately. My guess is depending on the day and the local crowds, the reservation would have been the way to go. That being said, the food was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and instead of the basic marinara, I asked them to make it spicy - it was perfect. My friend ordered the "Auntie Gracie's Sausage Ragu". While waiting for the meal (it did not take long at all) we were served fresh garlic bread and salads. All the food was absolutely amazing. Dessert was a Chocolate layer cake. Special thanks to the wait staff for being so friendly and knowledgeable, I will absolutely be back at the next opportunity.”

“Their corned beef brisket sandwich (that’s usually on special) is out of this world delicious. Finally a place that removes the fat from the corned beef before serving it! The pickle spread they put on the sandwich I was a bit skeptical of but it pairs surprisingly well with the corned beef and makes the sandwich. Their soups are delicious (especially their seafood one) and we enjoy getting their queso as an appetizer. I highly recommend this place. Great portions. The decor I would change a little to make it more comfortable and inviting. Overall, a wonderful place and we will continue to dine here.”

The hotel is old, but the rooms are up to date and spacious. You have on site parking, which is free with your room. Definitely the best place to stay in Galena.”

“This family-run restaurant adds a dash of charm to every dish. Featuring a nearly entirely homemade menu, Market House features comfort food staples in generous portions. Items are clearly listed as “fried” or “grilled,” giving the customer the opportunity to decide how healthy (or not) to make their meal. I ordered a grilled chicken breast sandwich, and while the bun was nothing to write home about, the chicken was juicy and fresh. I didn’t have an opportunity to try dessert, but the pies are homemade and incredibly enticing. The restaurant itself is a little dated, but it adds to the charm; this place has been around for several generations, and it appears to have stayed true to its roots.”

“Genuine Mexican touch on most of their surprising wide ranging menu - real dining, not tacos/burritos, etc. Cozy, comfortable. Odd to have several slots in the side of the dining area but not an issue. Both our dishes were very good - genuine paella that the chef obviously made fresh rather than resurrecting ingredients as some do. Someone earlier was right - a fun place to eat in Galena. When the chef and the server own the business, you know it's going to be fun right.”

“Lovely atmosphere, attentive wait staff, delicious food! I just loved the historic feel of the building, made dining feel like more of an experience than just eating out. Not to say the dining isn't worth it there, it is! I ordered shrimp and steak, pretty much knew what a shrimp tasted like but was so surprised with how much flavor they packed into one! And not overcooked at all. The steak was so tender, my mouth is watering thinking about it!”

“I want to say that I seen the two best bartenders. They were a pleasure to watch and never flinched once, with a packed house for karaoke.
