“Interesting and appealing filling combinations. This isn't a stereotypical dumpling your going to find at any Chinese restaurant. You can tell they put a lot of effort into making them. I got the shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings and they were phenomenal. Side item choices were also non-stereotypical and healthy. I had the shredded potatoes in a vinegar that was delicious. Place was clean and trendy looking. Owner was present and clearly engaged and interested in explaining options to the customers who came in. Again, thoughtfulness. I've got no suggestions on how to improve it other than figure out a way to increase signage or advertising. I had no idea this place existed until I saw a banner attached to a rail outside.”

“Great addition to the dining experience of residents of the Chicago northern suburbs. Jameson's Charhouse has filled somewhat of a void of $$ to $$$ type of restaurants in Vernon Hills quite nicely. Cozy atmosphere inside, warmed up by a central fireplace and friendly staff, adds to a convenient street location, with plenty of parking space. The menu is well thought through, with a nice balance of surf and turf dishes, as well as some house specialties: rack of lamb, halibut, and prime rib. The bar is fully stocked and offers a good variety of cocktails, wine, and beer. Speaking of which, do try their own Jameson's blond ale for only $5. You'll ask for a refill in no time, I guarantee.”

“Went on a Friday around noon. The place wasn't that busy. Service was as good as it could get. Very attentive. The beef was very good. The pork was cut thin but lacked flavor as it wasn't marinated. Chicken was seasoned spicy and was good. The little appetizers came out and kept coming out. We actually had to tell the server that we didn't need anymore when he bought more out. “Decided to try this new establishment and was very pleased. We ordered the XL tips, Hot Link sandwich, Sea Food Basket, and Chicken Strips. All of us enjoyed the barbecue sauce, which can be best described as a sweet and savory flavor. The hot link with sauce was a little dry, however the texture was perfect and very tender to the bite with a nice grill crust. The portion for the tips was perfect for the size ordered and bite tender. Chicken Tenders are just that, nice size for the 3 in the order. My son raved about the catfish. If you expect crispy fries when you get home, well best breakout your air fryer as the care the ladies take to wrap your order keeps the heat and steam in, so your fries will be a bit soft. Keep in mind, this is not a negative, it just shows they want your order wrapped well for your trip home.”
