“Dinner after a disappointing Men’s ND game turned uplifting with wine start at the bar with Liz:) Dinner continued uphill swing starting with best cream of mushroom soup EVER! Then one of the restaurant week features, ending with chocolate raspberry torte. Yup, all wonderful and why we always return. This is definitely a 5 star restaurant. “Went on a Saturday night in a snow storm. Had 7:00 reservations. Valet was quick. Hostess seated us quickly. Wait staff was attentive. Good original cocktail list. We had a crab cake (size of a softball) and shrimp cocktail for apps. The cocktail sauce was slightly spicy with good flavor. Crab cake was solid. I had the antelope and it was wonderful. 3 different members of the family had filets and all were very happy with them. My friend had the salmon and thought it was great. The chocolate lava cake was nice and rich. We would definitely come back.”

“I kept seeing the billboard for PEGGS that said "It's a South Bend thing". Being a native South Bender, born and raised, and never hearing of this place, I had to try it. And let me tell you, it is most definitely NOT "a South Bend thing". Breakfast food this good does not exist anywhere else in South Bend! Seriously, where the hell did this place come from with their incredible dishes and great service?!? I got the chicken and waffles and my girlfriend got biscuits and gravy. We shared a large cinnamon roll and had plenty to take home. We will definitely be going back next weekend. Edit: Second time back; great service and still great food! Cheesecake French toast stuffed with lemon blueberry filling was delicious!”

“A pretty standard old-school bar, but watch out for the dress code! It’s intended to be an “anti-gang” dress code but is vague enough that it may unfairly target regular people who simply have a particular fashion sense. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The service, however, is extremely slow. There is also a $10 minimum on all credit card purchases. It’s a good place to go if you’re looking to sit and chat with friends for several hours.”

“Maybe my favorite South Bend restaurant. Was 100% blown away by the comforting space mixed with the style of food. I'm unsure if it was an Easter special, but the meal was buffet-style brunch, so a mix of breakfast and household favorites you'd expect from a grandparent. The mashed potatoes might be the best mashed potatoes I've had in my life. Creamy and seasoned well, yet with the easiest of lumps. Great staff. And an amazing beer selection for the style of restaurant.”

“Don't let the humble exterior appearance fool you. Excellent establishment, you will be seated with full table service, a cheerful staff, and decent size reasonably priced portions. At one point my wife and I had 3 staff members helping us. Everyone wanted to make sure we were happy. The steak was wonderfully cooked, salad was great, jumbo shrimp right on point and they also have a great view of rolling hills in the distance. I definitely recommend this place to everyone!”
