“This Caribou has been a mainstay in our community and the Ingersoll neighborhood for years. The baristas are friendly and make everything right the first time. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and warm. I love this place for hanging out solo or meeting a friend for a warm cup of coffee or tea.”

“The burger buns have too many sesame seeds and the lettuce they use is for a salad and NOT a burger. Their shakes are really good though and I'm glad this spot is on campus.”

“I don't go here much, but every time I do I'm reminded I should go here more. Their food is really good, a little pricey, but it's quality stuff. Tons of Mac&Cheeses, great sandwiches and wonderful soups. They also have really good cake, you can order whole cakes for events and such as well. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Place is generally a little busy, but nothing crazy.”

“Good breakfast bagels but as a sort of tourist it was confusing to find. If you’re visiting and wanting to come here to eat, enter the building with the Burger King and go up to the second floor. When you go up, you will see a single corridor (skywalk) go the opposite direction. Keep walking and the restaurant will be on the left. The sandwiches are hot and they have caribou coffee.”

“St. Kilda has some great eclectic dishes. We went for breakfast I had the breakfast tacos which were delicious. My husband had the "cubano" sandwich... we are from South Florida and he said that sandwich could compete with the Cuban sandwiches back home. Definitely, high praise from him... go try it and let us know what you think!”

“Panera is always a good standard pit stop for a nice lunch that isn't FAST FOOD! We were in town for soccer, between games and wanted something that wouldn't just be a gut rot for our players. The salads and soups are a sure bet to fill you up and are always generous in their portion size. Not the first and certainly not the last Panera that we'll visit! Delicious breads and pastries to eat in or take out. Soups, salads, sandwiches. All in a pleasant downtown environment across the street from the Hotel Fort Des Moines.”

“I haven't been to Panera in 20 years--this place has come a long way, and it was good then! Everything was fresh, filling, and delicious. Wish we had never gone... now we will be here ALL the time. It has drive-through convenience with sit-down quality food. And their lemonade is fresh-squeezed... just saying. :)”

“I enjoy Perkins every once in a while. I always have. Since I was a kid, this has been a decent restaurant where I could get good food and sit and talk with friends or family. The servers are usually pretty good and the coffee is excellent (keeping in mind that I have low expectations for my coffee). Their blueberry muffins are awesome. Actually, their bakery is pretty awesome altogether. My family often goes there after church meetings and stuff, so it's a nostalgic place as well.”

“Haven't been here in years and decided to get a pizza to take home. Got the "Hot Italian" and it is definitely HOT and I love spicy food. No crushed red pepper needed for this pizza.”

“Excellent spot for creative, fresh, and delicious fare. I tried the pasta fungi. It was excellent. I also shared several desserts with some colleagues. We thought they were great. This seems to be the most popular restaurant in town.”

“I went to the Filling Station for the first time a week ago, & wow can we talk about LIFE CHANGING! When you walk inside it is a breath of fresh air. Not only is the food and coffee really good, the atmosphere is wonderful! I have a new favorite place to go for coffee and homework! Would highly recommend to anyone!”

“Always a great experience here. Sometimes there’s a little of a wait but that’s because it’s a smaller coffee shop that is crazy busy. I’ll wait a little longer for great service. They always prepare a puppy latte without me even asking as well. Just great service with every employee i’ve encountered and I go here several times a week.”

“The girlfriend and I really enjoyed our breakfast here. The food was outstanding. We also really enjoyed the design and decor of the building. The old school diner vibe was relaxing. There is quite a large dining area, but it was packed to the point of a 20min wait to be seated. A testament to the quality of food. Our waitress was a little passive aggressive and didnt seem to know how to multitask. She seemed annoyed when we would ask for anything like drink refills, butter for our toast, syrup for our pancakes and especially when we wanted to order dessert pie. She was never rude but took her time fulfilling our requests. It was very busy that day so hopefully that was only reason she seemed agitated. I will definitely eat here again. Just hope for a different waitress.”

“The staff is nice, the bagels are good, and it's located in the library of my university (Grand View). My favorite option would be their 6-cheese buns, because they offer plenty of calories for a quick meal in the morning. Being in a library, the atmosphere is usually a more quiet place than expected; however, not always. Special thanks to the batista Christian!”

“The deli was recommended to me as a great place to get a sandwich, and as an infrequent visitor to Indianola, I had no experience so decided to try it. I noticed immediately that the turkey was real meat, not processed. You seldom see that anymore, so I got a turkey sandwich. The meat was delicious and the bread was really good. I was very impressed. The atmosphere was cordial and friendly and relaxed. I was thanked at time of sale and also upon departure. I would definitely come back!!”

“I just tried Perkins for the first time and had a great experience. Like all Sunday mornings, there was a bit of a wait to be seated, but even though they were super busy, our waitress didn’t make us feel rushed. She was very nice and helpful. The food was really good, as well as affordable. I ordered the Twice As Nice (2 eggs, hash browns, & 3 pancakes). I will definitely be going back!”

“My sons and I stopped in yesterday for some hot chocolate and coffee. My sons wanted a donut and I told them they could share. My oldest told my youngest that he could pick the donut. The man working behind the counter heard this and complimented my oldest on being kind to his brother and treated him to a donut hole. He also treated my youngest with one as well! By far, a wonderful experience. It is great to see someone who believes in customer service and makes you feel "at home" even when it was your first visit! We will definitely be going back!”

“The coffee is Supreme. Very smooth. Service is friendly and they remember your order after going a few times. They do have a rewards program. Daily they have an online or at the location a trivia question, which if you get it right you get .10 off your bill.”

“Food was good like the other Metro locations, my biggest issue was the cleanliness. We chose a booth and we waited while the table and seats were being wiped down but I had to dry off the benches and table so my family and I could sit on it. Underneath the table was disgusting, this appeared to be the case underneath most of the tables. Having worked in food service myself as a server cleanliness is key, if any part of the dining area is dirty, it's all dirty. I really drags down the dining experience when there is visible filth. I encourage this location to put more effort into making sure all areas of the dining area are clean not just tables and seats. No one wants to step in or on someone else's food they dropped.”

“I stopped in for Breakfast after spending most of the night at the hospital. The young man that was working that morning had to be he only one there. He not only cooked a fantastic breakfast and the best pancakes I have ever had at Perkins, he waited tables and bussed the tables. He did all of this with a smile on his face making each customer feel special. The hash browns were crisp. Ice tea was fresh.”

“Our meals were really good this time. Staff was friendly and courteous. It seems like there may have been a change in management? If so it was for the better. This was a place that used to be on our "not going there again" list. Nice to have them as an option again!”
