I had been wanting to try out this spot for awhile since moving to the city as I’m a big fan of Jamaican food. This place was stellar! From the atmosphere and laid back servers to the delectable food, 14 Parishes checked all the boxes for me. I had the Jerk Shrimp which was so flavorful and packed with spice. I also had the rice and peas which were delicious and the plantains were the best version of them I’ve had outside of Puerto Rico. My companions had the coconut shrimp, salmon sliders, and the Jerk sampler platter. Everyone was raving about the flavors and complexity in each dish. I’ll be sprinting back soon to try more! 🙌
Excellent Jamaican restaurant, no fuss, the food is delicious, authentic with a twist of elegance and imagination. Cocktails and fresh juices are also the real deal and well done.
Service with a smile and fast, which is a gem, for those who know..
The cherry on top is the upstairs Hummingbird Lounge/Love Jones, an absolute treasure of local excellence, art, music and mixology. Went for a poetry night organized by Lou, bar tender Bobbi was amazing, stunning and good vibes all around. One Love ❤
Hospitable staff, amazing food!! Came for lunch on a Friday and ordered the Rum Punch, Jerk Chicken, Beef Patty, plantains, cornbread, and rum cake. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dishes were paired w/ complimenting sauces. Cornbread was very moist, sweet & didn’t even need butter. Venue is small, but the vibe is immaculate. I’m so glad I found this spot & would definitely recommend!
Overall I enjoyed 14 Parishes food and the island vibes. The food was tasty. I love Jamaican food and the oxtails hit the spot. The king bites were pretty good. The staff was very nice. I like the fact that they don’t serve your typical soft drinks.
My mom loved their bathroom lol. She was so amazed by it and the fact that it smelled good. I would visit again on my next visit to New Orleans.
