“The food in this restaurant is amazing! Everything I tried from the gumbo, to the oysters to the sushi was good. The only thing that brings this place down to a 4 star was the service. The hostess that was there on 8/27 around 4:30pm was snotty and not welcoming. When we told her that we would prefer to be seated in a low top table instead of a high top table, she said she couldn’t cause we were a party of 2 and the low tops are for a party of 4. But the high top also was for a party of 4 and it didn’t make any sense especially that there were 3 low top tables available at the moment. When I asked her again, can we be seated in a low top because I really don’t enjoy sitting at high top especially when there’s availability- she said we can sit ourselves there if we want lol. I went twice both times the same hostess gave me the same energy. My first time the waiter was okay, second time the waitress was really nice. So it’s a hit or miss with the service, but both times the food was great.”

“Hidden gem in an office building. Great to escape the conference crowds at the two Hyatt hotels and also to get good value. Seems like it is mostly area office staff patronizing.”

“I am at a conference and CCC is just around the corner from the Hyatt. It’s my first time here and I would recommend this place for lunch every time. The Cajun chicken was fantastic and the rest of the comfort food was delicious. The cost for 2 was only 23$”

“Was in town for Jazz Fest and checked out this food truck parked right by King and Queen Emporium on Bayou Rd. Ran into an old friend who was already posted eating their vegan chicken tenders and offered me one with buffalo ranch and it was delicious! I decided to try a vegan chicken sandwich dressed with slaw: the texture was great and the flavor with the fresh slaw was really satisfying. I also tried their mac and cheese and I savored every bite. The service was also excellent: the staff is kind, responsive, and fun to talk to. Definitely check out Flippin Birds when you're in New Orleans!”

“I couldn't wait to eat before taking pictures, my apologies. This place has some of the best brisket, pulled pork and chicken I have ever gotten from a restaurant. The sausage is dang good too. It is contest level BBQ but at a restaurant. This place is one of few restaurants I would eat at twice while vacationing. This is one of the places I will be coming back to NOLA for. The brisket is the best I have had from a restaurant, hands down. It has the texture of properly cooked short rib; the meat's sticky, juicy, and mouth watering. The rub used is flavorful but not overpowering the meat and smoke. The brisket stands on its own without any sauce, but the sauce is a perfect compliment of sweet heat and vinegar to bring it up a notch. The pulled pork is juicy and tender. The wings are sticky from the juices. The sausage has a good snap and tons of flavor. The chili has the right amount of heat and is one of the best I have had with tons of meat in it. The ribs were amazing and had tons of smoke. They were the only ribs I have bought that can keep up with what I make at home for myself. This place cares about the food they make and they have earned their 5.0. A rarity and a treasure. If you haven't tried their food, do it. You won't regret it”

“Good service, very hospitable and friendly staff, small place but has adequate seating. Very homey feel. Crawfish was amazing and perfectly seasoned. The turkey neck was to die for. French fries were perfectly cooked; you can request them without seasoning if needed. Burger without the bun was delicious. Definitely will return and highly recommend.”

“The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. I had the jerk chicken entree, and the chicken was seasoned just right. My wife had the fried fish dinner. We were in the patio area with laid-back vibes while reggae music was played in the background. Wonderful people run this restaurant. If you want good Jamaican food, you have to come here.”

“Wow what a great little spot. It's a food truck basically in someone's backyard facing out to the street. I ordered the al pastor burrito and a shrimp taco. The burrito was backed! I really loved the flavors. The two sauces I tried were very good. The Verde sauce was mild as it should be and the red sauce was good and spicy. Each was served with a roasted jalapeno and Verde sauce on the side. The tortillas are from Mawi so they are delicious. Maria and Grettie(I hope I spelled that correctly) are very nice people and are producing a great product in an area that needs this. Stop in and get a bite to eat; you won't be disappointed. They take credit cards also. And $2 tacos on Tuesday!!”

“Food was DELICIOUS. Waitress was kind and very attentive. Snow crab in the garlic butter sauce came out hot and just the right texture. Shrimp and Dungeness crabs were BIG. The flavor options were amazing. Our party had garlic butter and Thai citrus. Never had seafood with a flavor profile like that. I drove from the westbank to eat here instead of eating on my side of the river. Not one regret. Everything was just *chefs kiss. WILL BE REGULARS AND COMING BACK OFTEN.”

“I was looking online and came across Avo Taco and the menu looked interesting so decided to check it out. It’s part of Port of Orleans brewing so it’s their bar and this restaurant connected together. You sit at your table and you order and pay from your phone and they deliver the food to your table we ordered the dip sampler, the quesadilla and two tacos / one chicken and one brussel sprout. the sampler was just guacamole with different small toppings on top - i thought it was going to be guacamole, pico and corn separately. the guacamole was decent but the chips could’ve been better. the steak quesadilla was big in size and had good flavor. the brussel sprout taco was really excellent with lots of flavor; the chicken taco was decent with lots of chicken overall great bar food to go along having a good time at Port of Orleans”

“Tonight was our first time to eat at Avo Restaurant. We were impressed by the exterior upon arrival, very attractive. Our server was extremely nice and the service was very good. Everything that we ordered was great. Really good authentic food rather than huge portions like some Italian restaurants. We very much enjoyed our experience and will return in the future.”

“Had a terrific brunch outside in the courtyard. It is a beautiful setting and the food and service was great. The Bloody Mary was excellent as was the chicken and waffle. The chicken sandwich was good however the beef deep was the sandwich of choice for the group.”

“Chef Anton, Diane, Daisy and staff gave my wife and I a memorable anniversary dinner! The appetizers of escargot, lump crab meat and entrees of drum and filet mignon and desserts of baked Alaska and homemade peppermint ice cream were to perfection!”

“My husband and I ate here and everything we ate was delicious! We had the Bird’s Nest Garlic Shrimp appetizer, spicy seafood soup noodle (I ordered mine without crab meat), tiramisu cheesecake, and blue berry cheesecake. The seafood soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever eaten. Plus the customer service was excellent. I didn’t get the waitress name, but she was so polite. We’re looking forward to eating here many more times. Highly recommend!”

“The charming, quaint restaurant exudes a delightful ambiance. Despite its small size, it delivers an explosion of flavors in its dishes. Every plate boasts a distinct and intricate taste, ranging from spicy to creamy, sweet and spicy, and rich. The Thai iced tea served as a perfect palate cleanser between each delectable bite. Its smooth, refreshing, and delightful quality added to the experience. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem, offering exceptional food and service. I eagerly look forward to my next visit.”

“Ya'll. Go here. I wanted to forgo an actual "dinner plate" and eat 6 small plates, but my husband said no. He made me limit the starters to two items, so we ordered goat cheese & kufta. It was a little sly on my part because the kufta is served on labna, and the dinner plates come with hummus, thereby ensuring I would taste 4 of the appetizer options. Holy goodness! The labna mixed with the red gravy was killer. It's one of those dishes that makes me sad I'm not a local. The goat cheese was creamy, and the honey drizzled on top gave it the perfect amount of sweetness. My husband ordered chicken shawarma - because of course he did. It's one of his favorites. He eats it at every Mediterranean place we go. He was very happy with his choice at Saj, too. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad with lamb (gyro). It was good. Exactly what I expected, and they don't skimp on the vegetable toppings. We finished our gigantic meal off with the Baklava Cheesecake. It was phenomenal. We don't usually order sweets, but we were very happy we did this time. It wasn't what we expected. The phyllo isn't the main flavor, nor is there anything crunchy about it. Order it with your appetizers so you don't forget. It's spectacular.”

“Didn’t think I was a fan of Israeli food until eating here. The pita is next level!! We came with a group of 8 so had to do the feed me menu. We were definitely fed… sooo much food. We were seated by a somewhat private table but the restaurant was not thrilled when we were standing up and chatting at the beginning and end so maybe not a great spot for a large gathering.”

“New kid on the block bringing Birria meat to New Orleans! It's kindve hidden, given the name, but it's quite a good place for a meal! Chicharrones were honestly probably my favorite part of this meal. The Birria items, IMO, were a bit short on the flavor aspect. I ate here the day it opened, so I will give it another try as they settle in. @phidingthefam”

“You would not know this is a restaurant. No sign at all. Uber driver wasn't sure and we circled the block a few times. It's basically dining on first floor of a house in a neighborhood. Try the chicken in juice. Sounds simple but it was one of the best bites I had in NOLA”
