“I ordered one of their specialties, the Goodfella pizza. In short: Superb. The crust was delicious, the ingredients were all fresh; even the cheese! The toppings were beautifully balanced. The chef clearly takes pride in his work, as it was not only the best pizza I've had in a very long time, but also the best looking. His enthusiasm for his craft is matched by the friendliness of the hostess/manager. I think they're a couple. Great food, reasonably priced, and conveniently located. With wonderful people running the show, what else could you want?!”

“I'll start with the positive: the women I dealt with up front/on the phone seemed very nice. Double room, has basic TV, fridge, microwave, AC, free WiFi. Not far from beaches. For a quick overnight, I can see this as a decent enough place. And I totally disagree about no good food in the area. There's tons of excellent places within minutes... I've eaten like a king and not just fried/fast food. Other than that, I don't think I'd stay at this place again. The beds are uncomfortable, the room is dark, decor is very old, there's no toiletries except for some cheap hand soap. On one side of the hotel there's a big seafood & mini-golf place that is loud and my room smells like food all the time. The other side of my room faces the parking lot and there is no sheer privacy curtain that lets light in. So I have to keep the drapes closed and have no sunlight or fresh air in the room at all. When I arrived, I had no hot water, however eventually was shown that the faucet was installed backwards. (So you have to turn on cold to get the hot) I love the Cape - spent most of my summers here in different areas... and I don't mind that there is a certain "charm" you expect from some older places... But this isn't a cozy cottage. Its a motel. They could have a good thing here if they updated a bit, but it seems like either they don't really care, or can't keep up. ”

“We stayed in the Town Crier Motel during the weekdays in September. This motel and other hotels around were practically empty. It was calm and good time. What is the best in Motel: very clean room with fresh air, convenient beds, reliable electrical heater, AC, Internet and TV. RF in the room was fine but very outdated. What we did not like? The first time we have seen bathroom, where there isn’t simple shelf to put toothpaste or other staff. The room was equipped with one chair only. The furniture is clean, but outdated. May be our room (#13) is not the best in the motel, but because there were only 2 families in the motel and there were plenty of empty rooms, we believe that management gave us the best room. We will not recommend this motel for long vacation or for extended families, but if you want to spend only 2-3 days with beautiful nature in Cape Cod, it is good place.”

“Funky and fun, and the staff were wonderful. They even went out of their way to help us out when we cleverly locked ourselves out of our car. We will definitely be back!”

“Cliff and Amelia have done an amazing job with this place and added a much needed restaurant in Eastham. The new outdoor patio is lovely on a warm evening for a few drinks with friends. Their apps are amazing. My favorites are the buffalo cauliflower, veggie spring rolls and jerk chicken wings. The salads are also very yummy! I loved the heirloom carrot and beet salads. Great restaurant!”

“What an amazing meal! We ordered straight from the specials menu with a few appetizers and drinks to start. This was our first time to the Cape as well as the first time to Karoo, rest assured it will not be our last. Do yourself a favor, if you enjoy flavorful and interesting, go to Karoo ????”

“This is one of my family's favorite go-to places on the Cape. The seafood is always on point and I'm more than obligated to get my Lobster Roll fix here (when in Rome). This is an outside eating restaurant and the bathroom is a very humble porta-potty. There's a great little playground for kid's and the restaurant is BYOB should you want adult beverages with your meal. Again, fantastic food, highly recommended.”

“Service was very good and quick and so was the food. My friend had the beef soup with she enjoyed. I really liked the Garlic Stir With Veggies and beef and brown rice. There was enough for leftovers the next day. Dish was very flavorful of garlic and wouldn't hesitate in getting it again.”

“Excellent pizza! We always come to the Red Barn when we vacation on the Cape. While we always get pizza, we see well-made sandwiches and salads being served as well. The Red Barn also has a large and varied gift store, with souvenirs, books, candy, and more. Many families enjoy playing a round of mini-golf at the course just behind the restaurant, before or after their meal. It's a good place to eat and relax.”

“The Grab Brothers Band did a great job in the bar area. Music was wonderful and the people were into it! Dancing and laughing. My waitress was wonderful and very accommodating. She had to ask "permission" for my order which was on the menu. The food was the reason for the 3 stars. Strawberry shortcake was served on those sponge cake rounds with frozen strawberries. The whip cream was fresh and so was the garnish. Did not order anything from the menu but dessert. Prices were standard to Cape summer season. Fish being primary. Go for the fun and friendly clientele and staff. Go for the music.”

“we've been to the hole in one numerous times but never tried fairway for dinner until last sat night and we were not disappointed. Food, service and atmosphere was amazing. Inside it's been updated and is very bright and airy. Most importantly the food was really delicious. I got the lobster Florentine and would highly recommend. There as an enormous amount of lobster in it! There was a whole lobster tail plus tons of chunks of lobster meat. Sauce was savory, garlicy creamy and so flavorful. my boyfriend got the steak frites and that was very good too. only thing was steak was rare and we asked for medium, and it could have used a bit of salt or seasoning. but a nice cut of meat, and truffle fries were out of this world. So happy to know this place is open year round and so close to the house. we will definitely be back!”

“This place is an awesome solution for a healthy, hearty take-out meal. I love the fresh veggies and the fact you can feed all your meat-lovers and vegans in one stop. It makes for great beach food as well. The Chatham store is most convenient for us, but the Orleans store offers a sit-down meal with beer and wine.”

“Katie was a charming waitress in this very busy, very popular place on a Tuesday night. We sat at the bar with drinks while we waited for a table. Then, we ordered a small pizza, which came out large and they sent the rest home with us. The entrees looked amazing. Belgian Chocolate Pie was SENSATIONAL! Highly recommend.”

“Service and food are very good! We had several appetizers and entrees as there we were a party of four. The only course I was a little disappointed in was the last. The espresso was quite bitter and the the desserts were just ok. The service was great! A mixture of casual and high end dining.”

“This restaurant is not far off RT 6 and across the street from Stop and Shop. In a small plaza. It has the comfortable fell of a local bar and very good food. I got backed scallops special and my wife got the fried cod fish that was also very good. The cod fish was lightly fried. My scallops were cooked well and nice and tender. This spot is a great stop for casual good dinning.”

“We have driven by this place for many, many years and never tried it. We had a bad experience at another local place, left there and decided to give Castaways a try. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised. Our main dish we were impressed with was the two dishes with scallops! Done perfectly! Nothing worse then an over cooked scallop! These were tender and amazing. I wasn't as excited about my stuffed quahog...it was over done and dry. We will be back.”

“Ordered the Red Rock Dog, was pleasantly surprised by the amount of chili that was heaped on. Of course that made it a bit more of a challenge to eat, but the overall taste was well worth it. All in all, I’d eat here again the next time I’m in Harwich.”

“The Dockside Seafood Shack is a alright place to eat, but definitely not the best. The food is mediocre but not terrible. The seating is good, and you have a view of the harbor and all the boats that have docked there. The prices are fair for what you get. The menu has a good amount of choices with American and seafood like many places in the area. I would only go back to get a drink, not a meal.”
