Really great burger! Went and had the 1/2 lb burger loaded with a side of chili cheese fries. The burger was juicy and messy and delicious and the fries were big, fat steak fries covered in wonderful homemade chili and cheese. Will definitely return when back in town!
(Please don’t take this review seriously. All I do is review the bathrooms.)
Being my second day of camping in traverse city with my brother, we went here for dinner because our dad would always go here when he was a teenager. Of course I went in the bathroom to the right of the entrance, and the men’s was at the end of the hallway. I waited for another gentleman to exit and then I went in. It immediately felt very authentic and straight from the 70s! The walls were the classic black and white checkerboard and the floor was a popcorn gray kind of thing. Pictures and paintings of things like old cars and coke were up on the walls and they looked very nice. The walls were chipped a bit but I felt they only added to the authenticity. Anyway, in the bathroom there was a urinal and a toilet that worked well. The sink also looked like it was from the 70s. The soap and paper towel worked too. Entering the restroom felt like a trip straight to the 70s!
For a busy tourist town like TC it’s pretty normal. The food was a little pricey, the portions a little small. For example I included a picture of my small shake next to my 16 oz water which was $3. A large shake will cost you $9. ????♀️ The ambiance was nice and the wait staff were pleasant. Also included a picture of my son’s kids meal which came in a cute ‘55 roadster cutout.
Super busy on a Sunday afternoon, which is expected, definitely worth the wait. Real fruit milk shakes are delicious and worth the upcharge. Wait staff are fast and friendly despite the packed house. Burgers are served hot and juicy. Do not miss the onion rings! Huge rings that are fried crispy, not soggy. Drive in or go inside, either way you'll receive great service and leave with a full belly.
Brings back lots of memories! A '50s era diner with good food and tons of atmosphere. Prices are a bit high for a burger joint, but not out of line with other area eateries. The portions are large, and the food is good. The wait staff is helpful and efficient. This is a popular restaurant.
