“This isn’t 5 guys burgers, this is the “Other Guys”. They hand make your hamburger from fresh never frozen meat and then you choose how many patties you would like along with up to 18 different free toppings. The fries are cut fresh from potatoes with the skin still on them. But keep in mind it will take around 15 minutes to receive your order and seating can be limited when they are busy. You are going to have to shake a few more bucks out of your wallet because custom fresh burgers like this comes at a slightly higher price and will average $15-$18 per person with a small drink and fries. I have been loving their first store since it opened 25 miles away in Virginia so now we welcome you to Hibbing “Other Guys Burgers”!”

There was a very sweet couple sitting at the table next to us that just adored our little guy! “Food wasn't that good. Chips soggy because lettuce was piled on them. Found two over ripe cherry tomatoes under the hamburger bun. How they got there is a mystery. The salmon salad was tasteless and very overdone. Very dry. The vinegrette was basically French dressing. A few cherry tomatoes and very few little chunks of cucumber. Poor excuse for a salad. The server was great, but should've offered something to excuse the salad.”

“Very beautiful course right behind the casino with gorgeous views from the club house. Very scenic course right off the first tee. Large rock walls, dramatic drops, and water throughout. The fairways and bunkers were well kept, but the greens could use some TLC. I did thoroughly enjoy my round and loved all the holes. Great place to play and would definalty reccomend it.”

“The staff was exceptional! Every person we dealt with was friendly and professional. When we called in the reservation, I mentioned that we would need a pack and play for our infant. I figured we would need to have it brought to the room when we got there, but when I inquired about it at check-in, I was informed it was already in the room. This was much appreciated! We loved the kiddie pool since our kids are 8 months and almost 3. The staff at the restaurant were fantastic! Our breakfast server remembered our toddlers name from the morning before and did great taking our toddlers order. Overall a great experience, but the hotel could use some improvements. The mattress on the pullout sofa in room 244 was awful. It felt like you could feel every spring in the mattress. The bathroom also looked pretty dated. The carpet going down the hallway to the conference rooms looked either really dirty, or just plain worn out. Overall: A wonderful experience! Would definitely stay here again.”

“We stayed in the lodge for 4 days and ate here for dinner 3 out of 4 days. We really wanted to like this place but we were just disappointed. The first day we had amazing appetizers. The stuffed crab mushrooms and chicken wild rice soup were amazing! We ate breakfast here 3 out of 4 days as well and the breakfast was awesome every day! Unfortunately, that was it though sadly. Au gratin potatoes, stuffed walleye, steak, curly fries, pasta, fried clams, fried shrimp, they all lacked seasoning. Not to mention the fat on the steak wasn't even rendered. We ordered the chicken wild rice soup 3 times. The first night was great, the second night tasted just ok, and by night 3 you could tell the soup was simply "leftovers." Fried clams lacked actual clams and was mostly breading. Fried shrimp again had no seasoning. The staff were always the greatest though. Super friendly, attentive, just awesome people! The view of the lake is quite breathtaking this time of year. Fridays and Saturdays I would highly recommend reservations as it's quite busy and they fill up. You may be asking if we didn't like dinner then why did we keep going? Well unfortunately, this time of year in Ely, hardly anything is open in town unless you want Subway or Domino's every day. Like I said, due to the staff and the views and breakfast, we really wanted to like this place. But after trying almost half their menu, we unfortunately were left disheartened. Highly recommend this place for breakfast, the atmosphere, the staff, along with the views. But food-wise for dinner could be a lot better. Thank you for having us and being so sweet to our family. You have a great set of staff!”

“The food here was pretty good. Chips were standard rather than fries but were homemade and nicely seasoned. My Reuben was solid but not spectacular. I wasn't a fan of the corned beef being cubed rather than sliced. A sandwich that can already be a little messy was even more so. That said I enjoyed it. I had fountain pop rather than any of the beer options as it was lunch time and I live a couple of hours away. The service was very good! Friendly and attentive.”
