“Happy food dance! The look and feel of this place is awesome. I loved the fire pit in the rear patio. The biscuits and gravy are top notch! They go beyond the basics and have a thick full savory flavor. The biscuits themselves are buttery, light, and flaky. The bacon that comes with the dish is also top notch. The eggs are steamed, they have a very consistent texture and are cooked excellently. The turkey cranberry sandwich was also very good. The turkey seemed to be fresh sliced and the bread hit the spot. I had a great experience here; I think you will too!”

“UNREAL!! We had the meat and potatoes skillet, burnt ends French dip, a caramel pecan sticky bun, and coffees. Stupid. Insane. IMPOSSIBLY GOOD!! The music is great, the staff are friendly, the coffee is really fresh and delicious... even the bathrooms are great haha! But the real kicker was thee French dip. The meat was SO TENDER. Really glad for the experience, and will definitely be back soon!”

“We have always loved LaMar's Donuts. They are the best. You get your money's worth. Our favorites are the unfilled chocolate long johns, the twist and the glaze. The staff are really professional and courtesy. The service is good and fast.”

“My boyfriend works just up the street so we’ve gone here a few times for breakfast and coffee. I love it so much! Their coffee is amazing and they have so many more options than other coffee places. I love their honey lavender latte! Their bakery is incredible; not only are the treats super cute and presentable, but they’re delicious! We’ve had their gyro specials too and yum!”

“I was so pleased to find Italian Gardens has opened in their cookie bakery. I have so many fond memories of eating at the full service restaurant. Even though it is not the full service restaurant I remember, the recipes are the same, and just as delicious. The pizza is amazing, I love the three meat slice. It is huge! Light, and crunchy crust with extremely high quality meat and the sauce! Yum. Also, they have a variety of sandwiches, pasta and even a meatball grinder! I don't mean a meatball sandwich either, a true grinder with the Italian bread hollowed and then stuffed with the meatballs, and cheese. It comes with a side of unbelievably good marinara sauce. Imagine my surprise when I found the man himself, Carl DiCapo sitting there greeting people as he always did at the restaurant! John DiCapo will take care of you and make sure what you decide to eat comes out perfect. They do have limited hours closing at 2 p.m., I believe. I think it may only be open Monday through Friday as well. Directly to the East of Tension Envelope Building near the Crossroads. You can see the building down below while you are going South on 71 Highway from Downtown. I will be making this a once a week lunch destination. I highly encourage you to go and dine, and say hi to Carl while you are there. The man is a Kansas City legend.”

“For Mother's Day my husband and daughter got donuts from three different local donut shops so we could finally decide which was our family favorite. LaMar's won. Plus they both said the service was the most friendly. Thanks for a great mother's day breakfast!”

“Dear Dunkin: an old fashioned donut and a plain cake donut aren't the same thing. Otherwise I love your joint”

“Consistancy is the key to the success of this well known chain. I love the fresh bread and all the sweets. Today I had the steak sandwich and my friends had soup and salad . During the lunch hour the dining room was crowded and pretty noisy but didn't distract from our own conversation or the causal atmosphere. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Lots of parking plus a drive through and close to highway 435.”

“This is our local go-to restaurant when we need to relax and up with each other - which is often. We’re always greeted warmly by the owner and staff. We love that they have specials. And we feel valued by the way they remember our favorite table and cocktails, which are superb. The food is always good, and the ambience is small, cozy, casual but very nice. High recommendations for this neighborhood eatery!”

“Fantastic experience with Christa ordering a cake! She was helpful, friendly, transparent when she didn't know an answer and hustling to get that answer. I'm very impressed with my experience thus far. Also, their chocolate croissants are out of this world!!”

“Cute little bakery, worth a visit. Was excited to see they had some items that I had as a little kid when I lived in Europe. It does get quite packed especially on weekends so plan ahead for parking and space to eat”

“Neat little hole in the wall. The breakfast potatoes were excellent, and omelette with cheddar and salmon was perfect. Way to full to try any baked goods. (Although, they also looked scrumptious.) However, the menu is lacking. You will easily spend upwards to $20 per person to have any sort of "specialty" omelette. I will most certainly come back again though. Simply delicious.”

“Valentine's Day -- a night we usually avoid going out. This year my wife and I got a reservation at Rye a couple weeks early just to be different. Wow. So good tonight. Every single item was outstanding. Goat cheese appetizer is amazing. We shared our two entries, salmon and pork ribs, and both were perfect. My wife was still talking about the salmon on the way home. Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese as sides, both of which we've had several times, and these might have been the best batches ever. Finished with a new choice for us, the chocolate pudding cake. Holy sh*t., amazing. Rye seems to have somehow gotten better, and we have always loved it.”

“My Dad wanted a good cup of coffee and to purchase a cake for my Mom's Birthday. We noticed the potato and leek soup special and decided to have lunch. It was so good. Dad loved his coffee and the soup. My Mom was very pleased with the Heart Shaped Vanilla w/raspberry cake. It was the best cake I have had.”

“Love coming to City Market Coffee for my latte It's always consistent in flavor - it's never sour or overly frothed/burnt as I've had unfortunately experienced at other coffee establishments. They also have a skeleton regular overlooking the room that is dressed up for every holiday. So cute!”

“This is a bagel. This is what you should expect when you want an authentic, fresh, flavorful, texture-perfect bagel. Chewy, soft, crunchy, optionally schmeared liberally with unique and tasty spreads. The ambiance of the shop is right on as well, in a great area of the city. This is where you go when you know what you're doing. Don't screw up the parking!”

“The updated decor gives this place a light, airy feel. So less fireside lodge and more modern co-working space vibe. I come here often to work on my computer and grab a coffee/snack. Parking can sometimes be tough with street side parking, but usually manageable. Overall, this is a good location and delivers on what you expect from Panera.”

“Divine! All their locations rule, and this one is no exception. There are NO places to get good bagels here in KC - EXCEPT Meshuggah. These folks were kind and their whitefish salad was top notch. Bialys and everything bagels are delightful. Downtown KC better treat these folks nice! :) I'll be treating myself when I can.”
