“This place was absolutely wonderful! It’s not always easy to find vegetarian in Independence, however this had options both with meat and just vegetables. The hospitality was amazing! I got the hummus sandwich and it really hit the spot! My husband got the vegetable sandwich and really enjoyed it. When we were about to leave the owner came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal and offered us some delicious digestive tea. I cannot wait to eat here again!”

“I have been waiting for this Charlie D’s to open and it finally is. Walked in and was greeted by staff and my order was taken, I don’t think I even had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for my freshly fried catfish and that was with about 4 or 5 people ahead of me. The options are a wide variety of chicken and seafood. The catfish is FANTASTIC, perfectly crisp and perfectly seasoned. Definitely will be back again to try more menu items.”

“Had an overall great experience. I ordered the 16 oz Prime Rib, and my wife ordered the filet and shrimp. Both were cooked as ordered (medium-rare and medium) and were delicious. “"Well..." (**said with mild disgust in myself for never trying First Watch until now**). The food here was delicious, the service excellent, and the vibe outstanding. This is in part because it's brand new, but also because of the upscale retail strip it's in. The menu isn't overwhelming and has a good variety of healthy and American diner flare. I'm the weirdo who walks around to see what other people are eating. It used to embarrass my wife, but I only ask if it looks great. I've been doing this for years and have yet to this day had anyone look at me strange because I asked them about their food. People are genuinely happy, for the most part excited to tell you about the dish they've ordered, especially if they like it! It's only creepy if you make it that way... I think, LOL! When I looked around today, all of what I saw looked great and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. This is the only location I've been to and you should definitely give it a try for breakfast or lunch. I did get the "Morning Meditation" to go, which is orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar, and beat. There's also the Watermelon Wake-Up, which is, you guessed it, watermelon, pineapple, lime and mint... next time. Way to go First Watch! I hope you're around for a very long time. See you soon.”
