We went there right before the restaurant closed but we did not feel rushed at all. He was right on top of things at every moment , very attentive, and very welcoming. “Overall average. The beer was okay; while nothing seemed particularly “off” about it, it didn’t seem particularly unique or flavorful. The beer lineup is very typical of New England craft breweries - IPA, Stout, and Porter, and nothing really different or inspired from any other small regional brewery. The IPA was bland, the Milk Stout was thin, and the Porter tasted like a Black IPA. I wish their beer was more flavorful and that their lineup was more creative, instead of having the same beers as every other craft brewery in this region. Food was also just about average, without much to comment here. Atmosphere was good, I especially enjoyed the beer hall concept featuring long rows of benches.”

“My family has been going to Sawyer's for the past 16 years. It is rare in the restaurant business to see such consistency over that long. It is not fine dining and they do not serve alcohol, but if you are looking for a good meal quickly with great service in a clean place, there is nothing that compares to Sawyer's. We often opt for Sawyer's on some evenings when we're considering other "finer dining" places: places where we have found quality to be less consistent and often not worth the value. We've seen many other restaurants in the area come and go, and others go from great to subpar service. The owners at Sawyer's are hands on, often on site. The staff is friendly, attentive, constantly walking booth to booth to ensure that customers are happy and to keep the place clean. There is an ice-cream takeout window as well, a favorite of my children as well as pretty much anyone who is visiting us during the summer. Having worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years in the 1980's and 90's, and having managed a couple myself, I have a good sense of the challenges these owners face in maintaining their business year after year. No I do not know the owners although anyone who goes to Sawyer's will likely not them, as I have numerous times, and no I am not affiliated. I am simply someone who truly appreciates a great restaurant experience, which is becoming harder to find at many places.”
