“I have been counting down the days for What the Cluck to open and it did NOT disappoint. I ordered the Hot Honey Sandwich and it was so perfect. The chicken wasn’t too thick, it was sandwich thick, not like they just shoved a whole leg in there. The mix of honey and spice was perfect and their pickles were a lovely surprise addition. I appreciated that the sandwich wasn’t just a ton of ingredients, the chicken was truly the star yet the condiments were joyful surprises. I got the fries as a side, and if you want to indulge I highly recommend them. I like hot food, tend to always cook with spice, and their level of “hot” (one level hotter than mild) was perfect for my tastes, not overpowering but still a kick.”

“Today, I ordered a Crab and pork soup dumpling, which I never ever had before. The soup dumpling is even more authentic than those in Flushing, NY. The dumpling had thinner skin, full of toughness, rich soup, sweet and not greasy. It also has a little meaty aroma. If the "mouth" of dumpling skin make as thin as the body, it will be really impeccable. And the price is 20% cheaper than other places, which is equivalent to a 30% off discount. I can't believe it. Five stars recommend for eating right there, if order to-go for long time, the taste will not as good as eating at the restaurant. I think it's not just for this type of food but for most of other foods in other places.”

“This is New Jersey, so pizza is a big deal. Pappagallos is a welcome addition to beautiful Highland Park in my opinion. I ordered a Margherita pie ?. The sauce was noteworthy. It was delicious, mildly sweet and tart. Awesome. The cheese was fresh and melted nicely and the basil was green and tasty. The crust was decidedly chewy and nicely strong, no floppy pizza here. My only gripes are that the crust could have been a little crisper and perhaps less doughy, however make no mistake this was an overall solid slice, one of the better ones around and by far the best in Highland Park. Can't wait to try some other pies from Papagallos!”

“I was back in Highland Park for two weeks after moving to Israel. This new Chinese restaurant was located on the main street of Highland Park, Raritan Avenue, so my wife and I tried it. The food was fantastic. I wish I had a bigger stomach. Don't worry, they to wrap the leftovers for you to eat the next day. Try it out. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait for my next trip to Highland Park.”

“My wife and I had dinner at 5pm, only customers and we were served, answered questions and received hot tea in nice glasses. “There was an amazing deal for a few days 1 topping medium pizza for just $2.99! Plus it allowed up to 3 pies per visit, so ended up getting the max. But when I had it it was a bit disappointing. They put a lot of cheese and barely any sauce. I usually go here ever now and then and it usually has pretty good pizza but that night the cheap pizza wasn't even half as good as the norm. I know it's super cheap but at least they should have made it half decent...”

“Typical Chinese American / Cantonese menu. I've eaten here several times and my food is always very good. Portions are generous and prices reasonable. People at the counter are cheerful and friendly. Primarily take out but limited seating available for eat-in customers. Counter service only but they kindly bring my food to the table perhaps in deference to my age. Seems popular with students. Parking lot in back for rear entrance is very convenient. Good place!”

“My experience has been very hit or miss. Sometime the pizza is excellent, sometimes just so-so. One time it literally tasted of soap or cleaner. I've had better consistency with the dinners. The space is small. Service has a European pace, so if you are not in a hurry, this may be ok for you. They were very tolerant of young children.”

“This is a quaint little place in Highland Park. It's easy to miss while you are on the road because there a lot of restaurants along the way. If you are using Google maps, make sure you park the car, at least 500 yards away. I will tell you the reason why , towards the end of my review. I had the fried pork dumplings as my appetizer , their signature Pad Thai for my mains and their special tea. It was amazing. This was my first Thai food experience and the food lived up to the standard of the badge that the restaurant has - best restaurant in Central Jersey. The inside of the restaurant has a rustic charm that makes the experience even more special. The portions are very hearty and I couldn't even finish it. So, it's better if you park your car a bit away so that you can walk a bit after a tummy- full meal. Their service would have been the best if the waiting time was shorter. I am going to assume that may be it was because they were short staffed , that particular day.”

“Love this place! I'm from north Jersey (you know, where pizza is actually good) and haven't found that style or level of pizza since moving down here 9 years ago. Then my lab mate brought pizza from here and I was like whoa, where did this come from?? I passed by here so often, but never went in. But now I'm a loyal customer. The workers are nice, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. Very pleased and happy to come back!”
