“First off, I would like to start with what is good about the place. The portion size and food quality is very good. You will be hard pressed to find better meatballs, sausage and rice balls along with the absolutely delicious sauce they make (as part of the sampler). The chicken (drunken chicken sandwich) was mediocre, however, as the flavor was a bit flat and the chicken was a touch overcooked. What I did not like: poor drink selection (4 choices), meal presentation (was served on paper plates where the sauce leaked though) and no cups. You mean to tell me I cannot have tap water with my meal? I'm pretty sure restaurants have an obligation to provide this option. This place has a lot of potential, but they chose the wrong neighborhood. Lake Hiawatha is a great place to work and live (I am a local), but the prices feel out of character with the neighborhood. $12-$14 giant sandwiches are a good deal if you consider they will probably make 2 meals, but I'm not sure if the neighborhood is ready for that. A $6-7 half size might be a good option to employ. Just ask the Mule Tavern next door about trying to charge Morristown Manhattan-esque prices. Summary: Great sampler, I suspect most everything else will be good. Worth trying if you can get past some of the presentation limitations and a higher than average price for the neighborhood.”

“Ordered a big spread of food from here. While waiting I heard the microwave a few times and became very worried. The gentleman was very nice and they had recently opened so I didn't question it and wanted to give the food a try. The food overall was spiced well (not overly spiced and regretful like some places could be). The kebabs were cooked very well, not as medium/medium well as one would like but not overcooked. The tenderness and freshness makes up for lack of medium cook. Unfortunately the rice was microwaved for sure, did not taste very fresh. What was disappointing was the fact that the thadig (only reason why I decided to try this place) was Completely Inedible - microwaved to death. Friendly service, but food pricing is a bit high especially if you are going to microwave food - you shouldn't put NYC/gourmet prices if this is the case. There is a lot of potential here, wish them well. Did see something about hookah coming soon. As an avid hookah fan I would love to try that out - only reason I might eat there again. I would hope they won't use instant light charcoal or cheap tobacco - hopefully not.”

“Just driving by and decided to stop. Lobster roll and crab cake sandwich were both fantastic, plenty of fresh lobster and the crab cake you can tell was fresh made. Chicken cheesesteak was also very good. Recommended to call ahead, there’s a bit of a wait - but that’s what you want in a food truck. “A great small, family-run business! The Village Market is a great addition to the Towaco / Montville community. The owner and employees are friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to serve customers. The market has a wide variety of prepared foods, grab and go and deli. Of course, they are also well stocked with produce, dairy and other grocery items. Prices are very reasonable, and it’s so convenient to be able to pop in for a couple items versus a trip to the supermarket.”

A cozy experience, where you can get anything that you could get at any other local Frank's or Mama's restaurant in the neighborhood, but done better. Quality dishes and pizza at FAIR prices! (I was actually a bit shocked to see how inexpensive they were, yet very pleased to discover how fantastic the food was as well!) The people who make this happen are kind, greeting you with smiles and actually thank you with an earnestness in their voices that I believe is genuine, not said to me because "they have to." “Love Jersey Mike’s!! Jersey mikes is very consistent from store to store, so the separation factor is service. And the new Jersey Mikes in Chester is top notch. I use their mobile ordering often and my subs are always there waiting for me as soon as I pull up. Always friendly, always professional. I have to say, I do like to watch when they are busy and watching the crew work hard to crank out sub after sub. It’s like a cold cut symphony. And the memory of some of these people is amazing.
