“If you're nearby don't pass this spot! Full of history and excellent food...you won't be sorry! While the green chili burger was quite delicious the standout was the chili & beans. You're joking yourself if you order a cup...just go ahead and get a bowl or you'll end up ordering two cups as I did. So, so good. Friendly service, quick and delicious food...the perfect stop on a roadtrip! So happy to have finally been able to visit The Owl!”

“Don't go here and expect to spend less than an hour. Food was good and hot. Normal NM chile spice level, not too hot, but good flavor in their red. Staff was friendly, but I felt like those who seemed like locals were getting better attention and their orders out quicker. Our party of four was the same size or smaller than these other parties. The portions were decent but if you go there hungry get something big.”

“Great food! Burgers were delicious. Only thing I would change is cooking them more towards medium instead of well. Service was great.”

“Desert Diamond in Socorro, NM is a great family destination. Friendly and accommodating, great menu, awesome staff. I love the taco salad and my hubby likes the taco burgers. Also note Desert Diamond is open an hour later than other restaurants in Socorro. Worth a trip whether you are local or just passing by on highway 85.”

“The tacos are so good! Love they add pineapple. No cheese thank goodness! The burrito is HUGE. The rice is really good. This is true Mexican food and not TexMex. Their chili is amazing! You will not regret eating here! Very clean and tidy too!”

“Nice staff and the environment is a breath of fresh air!! There is live music and on Saturdays they even allow the public to participate in open mic. Try this place out, though it's in an older building , it has a whole new feel! It's fun and inviting!”

“Conveniently located right on main street and open, plus with gasoline. This is an odd way to start a review, but it is the way things are right now. Clean and neat inside, and busy as well. Stopped inside to grab a sandwich while my partner was pumping gas. Truly glad to find Good2Go open!”

“I stop here for a quick meal. I like how the place was set up. Only thing i didn't like was the service was slow it took around 40 minutes to get my food. The burger i got was the mountain man burger it was good. But what I liked the most was the dessert i got the gluten free lava cake it was very very good. also i like that they have so many options for wine to pick on. And they have a wine store next to the restaurant for you to pick a wine of your preference. Fun fact if you didn't know they Open this restaurant In 2011.”

“On our way through for lunch. Great atmosphere and a cool 70s feel. Everything was fine except the waitress and her attitude/service... Never offered a refill on my coffee and never came back around to see if we needed anything else. I tried to get her attention a couple times but just finally gave up.”

“This place was a solid stop for lunch. Had some burgers, ordered medium well and they were pretty well done but what can you do. Fries were really good too. The only thing was that they charge you for any sauce you order. Like if you ask for ketchup for your fries, that costs $1. BBQ sauce, that's $1 too. Just keep that in mind but the prices in general aren't bad for what you get.”

“Hot enough to burn your thighs on the way home. Just be prepared if you order certain things through the drive thru, they make them fresh on the spot so you have to wait a little bit, but you'll get the most fresh food from that wait.”

“Table service old school diner style Mexican restaurant with ample parking. Restaurant and restrooms were fairly clean, they could use a little attention but this was after the breakfast rush so it might not be typical. Service was very pleasant and helpful but a little slow. Food was very good. Portions are huge, two breakfast burritos are almost impossible to finish even though they were excellent. Recommend for a no frills great meal.”

“The employees were very nice! The cafe was clean and full of people. The food, however, was mediocre at best. The potato chips and fries were soggy. The chicken sandwich was very dry and overcooked. Hopefully, I will have a better experience next time I come through here.”

“Tumbleweeds is probably the best restaurant in Socorro County, and absolutely worth visiting, whether you're passing by on 60 on a long trip, or a local searching for good food in a friendly environment. We go about once a month, or every other, depending on circumstances (so these photos are from various visits not a single meal!) and have never had a bad experience. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the service is always excellent. We look forward to our visits, not just because of the great food but also because it's just pleasant to be there. But about the food: It's fresh, from scratch, and made by folks who know what they're doing. The regular menu has many fantastic options. Some of our favorites: the enchiladas, with their own nice twist on the traditional flavors; the chicken sandwich--I get it 'hot' level of spicy--which is juicy and crisp and certainly could best any place in the 'chicken sandwich wars'; the mac and cheese, which has an amazing cheese sauce. But, my advice is to check the board for the specials. Some of the best burgers I've ever had have been weekend specials here. As an aside, I eat meat probably once or twice a month at most and tend to save one of my meals with meat for a visit to Tumbleweeds---the burgers and fried chicken sandwiches are that good. Also, the pinon coffee is somehow better than it is anywhere else---seriously it actually tastes like pinon coffee here. Something else about Tumbleweeds worth mentioning is that it's committed to the local community. One small example: It occasionally hosts makers markets for local artisans. The business is serious about being part of Magdalena and the surrounding parts of the county. Small businesses with owners like this can help sustain and give breath to small towns--I've seen it happen elsewhere--and it's a blessing to have one like this here.”
