“This place is brilliant in the summer for kids! Love the outside eating area with a fence to keep kids contained. Lots of toys and playground material. There is a book exchange and board games and puzzles as well. Inside features lots local items for sale. Everything we had was good kids menu was priced at incredible deals. “Returned to this business after trying it during their soft opening. Good customer service and food. My husband and son enjoyed their generous serving of French toast sticks. My bagel toasted with cream cheese was tasty. It is a cute place to go to have a cold or hot beverage and a light meal. Made to order and bottled beverages are available in addition to a small selection of sweet treats from local bakeries. Live music on the weekends and a theater with full productions next door. Will return to try some of their other menu options.”

“Amazing food and it serves a wonderful cause supporting our first responders! Sure they just opened and it might take a tiny bit longer than you might expect, but I’m sure in no time with Jenny’s excellent leadership and friendly spirit they’ll be going at full speed. The staff were courteous and seemed to really be invested in making this place a success. My sub (the Hero I believe it was called) was fresh and delicious. The mac ‘n’ cheese really hit it out of the park! I truly wish for the greatest success for this place and all the staff who work there. 5 stars for sure!”

“Best location: Off the beating path in a peaceful location. Service: Warm just like Soul is suppose to be. Food: "Chef Hands" exceptional cooking you wont think of saying you are still hungry. Comments: Rather Unique is a great place for Soul Food especially for those traveling into Rochester by way of plane, train or automobile. There is plenty of parking the area is quiet and the food is great. Funny thing is I wanted ribs but I am on the fences about pork at the moment however Rather Unique had Turkey ribs! A good sign to say the least. The ribs were good without sauce but they did have sauces available which also were tasty but the ribs were so good without the sauce that I barely used them. FIVE STARS.”

“Had lunch there while in the area. First time visiting, would definitely return. Atmosphere was peaceful and you could carry on a conversation and enjoy our meal. Had the spinach salad ????, outstanding with crispy "real" bacon (not bacon "bits") and homemade dressing. Superb! My wife had the French onion soup (also excellent) and the quiche. “This is my favorite "fast food" place. I feel good about the many organic options and grass fed beef. The bone broth could be less salty but overall the is the best option for healthy eating. You can build your own salad, broth bow or grab a steak plate. The lemonades are great and not to sweet. There are comfortable booths to sit in and the climate control is excellent.”

“First the good. The steak was excellent. The sides were tasty and plentiful. Good atmosphere, we had one of the better tables to sit at. Now the not so good. The drink I had was horrible, margarita. 15 bucks. Our server was incredibly slow and not interested. I love Max’s but a few bad moments hurt the overall experience. An expensive night but a great steak.”
