I don't think I've ever gotten so much attention from an owner/manager before. You can really tell this place cares about customers and what they put out. The food and service were great all around. “Did not have reservations. Hostess suggested we wait for table at bar and so glad she did! Drinks were fantastic and wait was much shorter than anticipated. Server was super friendly and pleasant. Some items that we ordered were very good (fresh mozzarella and tomato salad with balsamic reduction, minestrone soup, and seafood pasta special), some were average (eggplant was little tough/chewy), and some were disappointing (chocolate chip cookie pie was dry). Dedicated and helpful staff made up for any disappointments with food.”

“For those who knew this place as Grandma's and went here all time, it is not quite the same. If you go here expecting what you were used to, you will probably be a bit disappointed. However, if you go there with an open mind like we did, you will most likely leave happy. Service is exceptional: Both times we went we had great waitresses and the owner even checked in with us. They also went out of their way to help us celebrate my cousin's 14th birthday. The atmosphere is pleasant and more modern but lacks the old "family", Grandma feel. The food is quite good, even if the portions are a bit smaller, and most everything is home made. I ate here for breakfast and a dinner was not disappointed. Grandma's will surely be missed but if you give Christine's an honest try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Note: The salad bar is definitely missed.”

“Phone was busy and the place was packed. But we were able to get a hot Pizza in 25min with some knots and brought it back to our hotel. Found they put plates, a knives, forks and napkins inside the bag without us asking. Awesome. “What a wonderful place! We came here for my step sons wedding. Very clean. Our room was great. Everything worked properly, frighted worked, no bugs, no problems, bathroom, shower, water pressure, everything worked great. The service and workers were pleasant and helpful. The cost was reasonable. The pool is a great size, in a good location, Fun Rood top areas for night drinking with friends. Adorable place to stay. We plan to come back here often.”

“Great restaurant. Outstanding service! Our server, I believe Andy was their name, was great. Frequently checked in and answered all of our questions. Very friendly and professional. Food was great. I had a NY strip steak with mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, maybe a touch under seasoned but still delicious. The mashed potatoes were excellent. We sat near the window and had a beautiful view of the lake. I would say the Boathouse is one of the best restaurants i have ever eaten at in the Lake George area , and after coming here for close to 30 years I have tried a fair share of them.”

“On a recent trip to Lake George, I ate breakfast twice at another location, and on my last day decided to try Monte Cristos. I wish all three breakfasts had been there. The restaurant is on the west side of Canada Street, so the deck catches the morning sun, and is a delightful location for breakfast. At 7:30 on a Thursday morning, one woman was running the entire place, taking orders and cooking. When I asked what kind of bread she had for toast, she said white and marble pumpernickel, with a strong recommendation for the latter. Breakfast was great, and so was the espresso I had after finishing my meal. While I was eating, a family came by and was trying to decide between Monte Cristos and the bakery/cafe next door. The woman running the place saw them about to pay for parking and said, "Don't worry about it; they don't check until 9:30." When they sat down to order, one of the kids ordered the three pancake and bacon breakfast, and the woman said it was too much food, and recommended splitting it between two. I have never before been to a restaurant where they tried to save customers money.”

“Solid experience. We stopped there on the 4th of July. They were able to seat us inside, with our small dog (awesome), outside was a 1/2 hour wait... understandably. We had a couple corona and a half order of buffalo wings to start. The wings were sold, the half order came with 6, carrots and blue cheese. No complaints, pretty standard not to spicy. Per a few reviews I orders the Korean Tacos (steak). He had the smash burger with season fries. The tacos were flavorful, a great size and had a good kick. He enjoyed the burger very much. Overall a solid meal. 3 beers ($5EA), app and 2 meals was about $65 without tip. Service as great and everyone was so nice to our pup!”
