“Definitely try to go during Happy Hour from 230-530 to get deals in the sushi. I started with the Seafood Carpaccio which was fair. The sashimi cuts were very small and the "special sauce" was more like soy and sesame oil mix. Kind of bland compared with a ceviche and amount of fish was disappointing. We then ordered a bunch of maki and sushi from the happy hour and all of it was good. Kids ordered shrimp fried rice and vegetable lo mein and neither were very good. The rice was dried out and shrimp over cooked and the lo mein oily and bland. Also had pad thai which also was fair,kind of bland and too oily. Drinks are good and waitstaff very attentive and efficient! Worth the stop for sushi Happy Hour for sure!!”

“If you like beer and like to watch sports on many TVs - this is your place. If you are used to mediocre food - this is your place. Me? With party of 4 on Saturday late afternoon- I went w grilled chicken on a bun and fries... Sandwich was ok (you know, iceberg lettuce, piece of onion and a slice of tomato of a white hamburger bun) - fries looked amazing but they were barely warm. Who eats soggy Luke warm fries??? - I did not. Others in party ordered seafood - which appeared to be generous in the portions - but all were left w “just not that good”. I had a couple of my wife’s fried shrimp (still a bit hungry after the soggy fries that I passed up) - and the fried shrimp’s “fried” batter was soggy. Just not my night. Our waitress was very friendly and she did take care of us. So - food? 1 star. Service - pretty good. And if you are careful about what you order and enjoy drinking beer at the bar and watching NC almost beat Clemson on one of the many large TVs - then probably a 5 star. Thus - my rating of 3 stars... I do not write many Google reviews - but I have several - not beating on this place - I was just surprised at the high marks from others regarding the food - and felt the need to interject a bit of caution regarding expectations...”

“Fun diner with tons of cute items on display. The food was fairly standard and good. We especially liked the clam cake sandwich, which was excellent, and the burgers. The service was amazingly friendly, and the place was clean. Booths and tables were available, as well as high chairs. Will definitely go back!”

“The absolute best crab legs. Prepared perfectly (steamed not boiled) and plentiful. My husband enjoys many of the items on the buffet, while I focus on the King crab legs and a few snow crab legs. This is a must visit each time we are in the area (few times a year). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Be prepared for a wait before you are seated. This is a very popular and busy place. It is also loud and crowded inside but the food (CRAB LEGS!!!) make it worth it all. We normally spend $100-120 for 2 adults and 5 year old for the buffet, 2 sodas and 1 water.”

“We loved this restaurant and will definitely be back! We'd seen many ads, but didn't think much of them. BUT then we read the reviews, and we were convinced. After waiting a short bit to be seated, we found ourselves near many other families. We had a nice comfortable booth with a great server (wish we remembered his name). The menu was reasonable, and they had some of the best guacamole we've ever had. We loved the vibe of the place also. So food + great server + fun vibe = great place! Thanks, Bad Bean! “Best dining experience, revitalizes my faith in humanity. Went for a casual eat with my parents, we all ordered our food with no fuss, had a pleasant down to earth server giving us good recommendations. Our food was served within what felt like 5 minutes nice and hot and piled high. We all started devouring our food and as we came to finish we asked for some to go boxes. While we were waiting a gentleman approached us and asked my mother a question. He didn't ask his question rude or incredulous but simply asked "Did the sides fill you up or did you just not like my chicken?" She didn't eat much of her pulled chicken just because shes a picky person and told him that and he said no problem and walked away. He came back with a whole half roasted chicken in a box for her and we thanked him. As we were getting our bill he also slipped in and took our bill and took off her chicken order even though we put up no fuss about it. This man was the owner and I could tell he took great pride in his food and has his restaurant open not just to fill his pockets, but to serve quality food and service. Looking at the house made bbq sauces you can see it is all simple, natural ingredients with no preservatives which is the way I imagine the food is made too. The food was delicious and the service was the best I've ever seen a truly remarkable man who appreciates good food and his customers. He also gave us stickers on our way out. For the record he asked us if anyone wanted the pulled chicken because he didn't want to just waste it, so I said I'd take it. Took it home and ate it later, was delicious, obviously my mom just has issues. 5/5 recommend this place to anybody passing through or local, prices are great too for so much food you get!”

The manager keeps things organized by ensuring that employees only do their assigned tasks. Meaning not all employees will be able to help you get a refill. If you behave respectfully and keep an understanding mind, the staff will treat you the same. Keep in mind that this location can take 30 minutes or more to get you your food. “The employees at this Jersey Mike's in Southern Shores make eating there or picking up food there a pleasurable experience. They are obviously well-trained and are friendly and good at getting the food prepared quickly and accurately. “We always love our coffee stops while on the island. They start with a great bean and they brew it exceptionally well. I'm especially a big fan of their cold brew coffee. The granola and yogurt had been a long time favorite on a hot summer morning. The biscuits are large, fluffy, and delicious. There is nothing on the menu that I can't recommended. The atmosphere is very much in the name, treehouse, with both indoor and outdoor seating.”
