“We visit the Franklin location at least yearly but decided to try Sylva's location this year since there are other breweries in the area we also visit. Was a little wary as there was a low rating from one posted review but decided to give it a shot. Was surprised at how different our experience was. The bartender was nice and helpful. She also sells candles in Lazy Hiker sample glasses and soaps, which is a really cool touch. She put up with my husband's incessant talking, which I give any staff kudos to. The beer was great. The Trailmate Golden Ale has always been my favorite. We decided to try the food while we were there--the tomato soup and garlic knots. Service was fairly quick for us (was there around noon) and the food was good. Happy that our experience was better than we were expecting!”

“I was visiting my daughter and decided to come here. It had a very nice vibe and crowd considering we were there late on the night before the 4th of July. The staff was very friendly. My daughter had already eaten and I wasn't very hungry, so we shared a pretzel and two beers. They have a stage for live bands and a patio out back, but it was raining so we stayed inside. The place isn't huge, and parking may become a challenge down the road when Western Carolina students return in the fall, but I think it will be a hit with most people and a great place for a bite and brew.”

“Came in for lunch. Very busy place but the food is worth the wait. Husband had the Patty Melt which has yummy caramelized onions on it. So good. I had the Autumn Turkey... so yummy. If I hadn't been so full I would have ordered another. I like the decor. Very friendly and knowledgeable server we had. Every year we come up from Alabama on vacation we eat here. I highly recommend the hamburgers too. They are just awesome.”
