“I just had the best fettuccine alfredo I have had in years, and it was the side dish. The main dish was the best rib eye I have ever had. It was prepared perfectly and melt in your mouth tender. I would have been pleased with a main dish of the fettuccine and chicken, which is on the menu. However the smells invading brain had me committed to a steak 2 blocks away. The staff was very friendly and attentive without getting in the way of our conversation. The place was packed and from what I could see every table got the same personal attention. One server took a group pic for a group that was celebrating. If you find yourself in Hood River and want a great steak, shrimp, or a platter of fettuccine swing into the Mesquitery. You won't be sorry.”

“Best food we’ve had in a while as far as Mexican. I had the Chile verde it was excellent and the pork was very tender. My wife had chicken fajitas and she said they were excellent, the salsa that came with the chip prior to ordering was very good, could of been a little spicier was the wife’s opinion. I highly recommend this place for great food. Small dining area but huge flavor at a decent price, with big portions.”

“Food was good. I had peach crepes and loved them. It was busy and noisy. Service was slow because one waitress worked the floor and the till. I would return for crepes again. My husband's blueberry waffle cost as much as my crepes $9 95 and I got a much better deal.”

“Very good food and the guys who own and operate this place are from a family that makes awesome food! They are also longtime locals who are very nice! It is a like a food cart , but more permanent, and there are picnic tables under a big tent cover with a beautiful, huge tree growing through the middle of the covered area. There could be a small line, but the wait is never very long and people who go there are usually kicked back, and friendly, as well as the owners who cook and take your order. If you haven't guessed by now, it is very casual and not pretentious in any way. I think everyone who eats at this place appreciates that fact.”

“Very nice stop on the Hood River Fruit Loop. We walked around the lovely gardens for a bit, bought some apples. They have wines and ciders to taste. We checked out the food truck. We were pleasantly surprised with the unadvertised special. A delicious clam chowder and hot grilled sourdough baguette. The chowder was very thick with clams, not just a bowl of potato soup with a sprinkle of clam. The flavor was wonderful!! Definitely a do over. I was hesitant to order food as a lot of reviews said it was a long wait. Our experience was great. Even though they were busy, it was only about 15 min to get food. They give you a pager so you don’t have to stay at the truck waiting to be called.”

“Best Drive-in in the gorge. They are open from 7AM (7:30AM Sat-Sun) until 6PM. They serve breakfast as well. Long lines in summer, but goes fast. Has limited seating, there is a counter inside you can sit at or you can sit outside at the tables next to the building. I always take my food to thunder Island on summer days. There is also a drive thru, if you chose to go that route. There servings are huge!! When getting Ice cream get a small or kids sized. Prices are OK.”

“We used to come to this place back when we lived in Portland years ago. It was always great. We'll this time was not a good experience like we had years ago. The place was empty on a weekend when we walked in which never happened back in the day. Ordered the halibut fish and chips with tater tots on the side. The seasoned fries and tots were excellent but the halibut was terrible. The fish was dense and obviously pre-frozen. We were so disappointed! Back in the day the halibut here was excellent but I guess those days are gone. This wall most likely be the last time we eat fish and chips here. Goodbye old friend.”

From the initial inquiry phone call, through the planning and the reception itself we couldn't have imagined a more perfect event. Everything went beautifully. From the setup, dancing, food, music, bar, outdoor access...the staff was friendly, courteous and very accommodating!
