“I have been a loyal customer at Golden Palace since I started school at Pitt almost 6 years ago. Don’t pass them over - They have the best food (yes, I’m general) in Oakland. Today, I had an experience there unlike any other. As a buffet-style restaurant, the pandemic has likely had a large impact on their business. As somebody who would want them and their kind, friendly staff to stay in business, I tend to tip well. Today, I let them keep the change as usual, and wouldn’t you know she slipped an extra egg roll and a free Pepsi in my to-go bag. I didn’t notice until I got home, but I am so grateful and want you all to know that you’ve made my day. After 7 straight days of being called into work in the ER, this is exactly the kindness I needed. I hope everyone reading this chooses to support this business. “Stopped here earlier today for the first time for some bubble tea. Once I was inside, the food smelled so good I just had to get some. I ordered a taro bubble tea, soy garlic chicken, & fried pork dumplings. Everything was SO good!! The wings were the best wings I have ever had, they were crispy & the sauce was amazing. Pork dumplings were very good, & the bubble tea was also much better than any other I have tried. My son loved everything too, & he is usually a very picky eater. On top of that, the service was just so friendly & helpful. He even brought my order outside to me so I didn’t have to struggle with my stroller through the door. I will definitely be back!”

“First time here earlier today, I wasn’t sure where to eat around here so I waited & watched which restaurant was getting the most customers, & this was it. It definitely did not disappoint! The staff were very friendly & helpful. I ordered the spicy pork bento, but I received the spicy pork bowl. I wasn’t upset though, because it was absolutely delicious. The portion was huge and it was actually spicy! I hate when I order something spicy & it isn’t spicy at all, but this was just perfect. I’ll definitely be back to try other things here too!”

“I was craving food and Forbes Gyro exceeded my expections. The gyro was executed perfectly, every bite was a delite. The cheese sticks were so tasty and melted in my mouth. Even the gyro pizza was fresh and the sides super tasty! Upon arrival the food was just ready to go and was hot when we got it home! Excellent customer service on a Sunday afternoon, when busy! “This was our first time eating here. I love noodles but didn't know what to order. The cashier was helpful and did not rush me while decided which noodle bowl to get. “Cool place! My son goes to Pitt and told me, "don't go, it's not good." I asked, "have you been there?" Of course not; this is how we learn. We went at about 10:00 p.m. on a Saturday. The place is a gem. It is very obviously a parody of a NY/NJ Italian restaurant. Music was good, beer selection too. We had a rectangular pie that wasn't bad and my son had the chicken parm that he had to admit was damn good. I tried it and the chicken was plump and flavorful, with a tasty sauce. We will certainly be back. I'm glad he's only a sophomore!!”

“Great food!! I am so excited to have a new restaurant opening up in the neighborhood, and Severina’s food far exceeded my expectations! I got the turkey panini with sun dried tomato, and it was fantastic! Super fresh and high quality ingredients, great selection on the menu, and great service. They have a great space for outdoor seating, and it looks like they’re working on a future full restaurant dining room and bar in next door.
