“Seen the lasagna and spaghetti special on Facebook so stopped to give it a try. They were closing at 3 because this is the off season so I could only get lasagna. It was good for gas station dinning. It's not Olive Garden but they don't claim to be. I've had breakfast here numerous times and enjoyed it as well. Obviously the experience is a lot better when it's fresh. The price is a touch high on dinners but overall I will go again. Very nice people work there and do a great job on to go orders. Keep an eye on Facebook for the specials and if it's something you like give it a try.”

“We went searching for a steak for dinner and just happened across this restaurant. It is a good thing we didn't use this Google site to find it because it's location is way off. The restaurant is actually about a half mile east of Wears Valley Road/Hwy 321 right on 73. The food was excellent! There were six of us and we each ordered a different dinner. Everything from the cheeseburger, to fish, to steak (with and without the Jack Daniels marinade). None of us were disappointed. The waitress was very pleasant and had a great sense of humor. The large fireplace made the restaurant feel like home. Great meal, Great service, and warm atmosphere. Our rental cabin was almost midway between Townsend and Pigeon Forge. I am certainly glad we decided to head to Townsend instead of the busy, commercial, franchised restaurants of Pigeon Forge. Definately will visit this restaurant again.”

“Went in to try this place yesterday. I like to step outside the box and if you've read my past reviews nutrition ain't my thing. I got a banana pudding protien shake and it was unbelievably healthy I'm sure but for me a little hard to get down. My girlfriend who drinks these drinks said it was good and just tastes that way. I wanted to be fair so I went back and got a watermelon jolly rancher tea. It was better and easier to drink. I love the fact that it provides me everything I need health wise and Lord knows I need it. I'll go back and try another tea flavor and would reccomend a visit. If this is your thing I'm sure it's a 5☆ experience.”

“Service was great, as well as the food! Our waitress was so nice and even though they were very busy, she still paid attention to us, refilled our drinks when it was needed (without having to ask), when we got our food she asked for anything we needed, brought it immediately, despite watching our waitress tend to MANY other tables. The food was great and by far the best breakfast spot we have found around here! We will definitely be back!”

“We had lunch at the cafe and while it wasn't bad at all, I think there are many places with better food for less nearby. Service was nice and the place is beautiful for sure. I wish everything wasn't a la cart- it added up quickly and ended up pricier than I think it should have been. My husband, daughter, and I really enjoy the Mac and cheese, but our other food was not nearly as special. Again, it wasn't bad at all and service was great, but the cost for the food we got would make me less likely to recommend to a friend.”

“Excellent food and top service. The eggplant Oscar was subtlety balanced. Cheese starter and dessert (different cheeses) looked very tempting, but our just turned 2 yr and old wanted to be outside. Waiters went out if their way to accommodate our usually easy toddler. Would have loved to come back for their cocktails and nearly 200 American, Irish and Scottish whisk(e)ys and their other entrees. Definitely best place in Townsend and miles around.”

“Crazy busy in the summer but a great place to visit. Good coffee and delicious ice cream. If you are camping in the campground, this place can be a real help. They have everything you need for camping; food, firewood, stoves, string, backpacks, cups, ice, water, etc...all camping supplies can be found here. The bike rental place is very popular as well. The park closes Cades Cove Loop at certain times and only allows bike riders and walkers through. Also great for kids staying in the campground so they can have fun exploring and getting some exercise too.”

“It will come as no surprise to anyone who gets a whiff of this delicious restaurant on the outside that when you get on the inside the service is friendly, accurate and the food is amazing. Well I don't eat a lot of meat I enjoy great brisket and this place certainly passed that test. The brisket was moist and not overcooked. We asked for the sweet sauce and there is a little spicy but delicious. My wife enjoyed the pulled pork which was also enjoyed alongside the tangy sweet sauce. Of note, the coleslaw is not the sweet variety. It is more of the vinegar variety. Still delicious if that's what you like. Overall, this is a place that we will visit again. Excellent.”

“The food was great and the price was not quite as much as a 'fancy' steakhouse. We tried the jalapeno corn fritters, the spinach dip and chips and the potato skins and all were good. The barbecue sauce that comes with the fritters was fantastic. The steaks were cooked to the customers specification and we were asked to check the steaks to make sure they were to our liking when the food was delivered. They could use some more salad bar options or specialty salad options but a great choice for dinner or lunch in Townsend when you're trying to get away.”

“I am a regular customer of the Carriage House and always enjoy my meal there. It is owned and operated by a local family. All employees friendly and welcoming to visitors vacationing in our area as well as the many locals that regularly eat here. You may always order off the menu but often there are tasty buffets with varieties of meats and vegetables cooked the southern way. Friday nights feature the seafood buffet which is always delicious. Sunday's feature a loaded buffet and always brings in a crowd. Great place to eat.”
