“My husband asked for no veggies, no onions on his burger. It came with the onions. My chips tasted like they were cooked in oil that was several days old. Service was mediocre at best. I understand that they're closing soon for remodeling. I sure hope they're better when they reopen!”

“We had dinner here tonight at the hotel. The bartender was prompt and friendly. We had chicken fajitas with rice and beans. They were very good. The view of the Gulf is awesome. The reason I gave it four stars was because they used plastic straws and little plastic containers for the rice, beans and salsa. Not very Eco friendly only being a hundred feet or so from the ocean.”

“The food was very tasty worth the price. As far as drinks, no Bud Light but other options ok. We did have to tell our waiter to please fill cup a bit more because they are pricey & they were almost half way filled only. Also, one thing I find weird which I’ve noticed not only at this place on the island but other bar & grills is that for some reason they don’t have change..hmmm”

“We sat at the front but they had more sitting options and spots. I knew I wanted a good view for those sunset pics, right up front. The live music started and delighted us for the two hour ride. Then came the food, shrimp appetizers, chicken and fajita tacos and fish. Oh my. Fruit dessert and all the cold drinks you could have. BYOB if you want. The staff was super friendly and courteous. We loved it and can't wait to do it again.”

“If your a Chinese Communist Party face shackle enthusiasts, this isn't for you. This restaurant is small and cozy with mostly outdoor seating with a full bar. This place has been here for a long time and is a popular breakfast/brunch location. It's particularly patronized with Winter Texans this time of year. Shorts with white socks.. Dead giveaway! The menu is straightforward with offerings that can be found at other restaurants on the sandbar. The location is what sets it apart! The food is good and the portions are about right. The service is good and friendly even with the current situation of labor and supply shortages.. All in all its a great date spot. Try it out if you're in the area.. Plotted. Scouts Out.”

“I had a GREAT time here! Food was great - I had the shrimp basket… loved it. Views were amazing!! And of course the live music… I love me some live music so I really enjoyed it. DJ played a few salsa hits that got me excited! Wish they played it a bit more… you never know when y’all have a tropical mami in the crowd 😊”

“Our server was great, he brought some humor to our visit. I was very glad I spoke with the bartender earlier in the day, she recommended the nachos but warned that they are a very large portion for the full order, even the half could easily be the meal for 2 to 3 people. She was not wrong, they were great and a huge portion. I enjoyed the special, cod and shrimp that they made blackened. For the price, it was also a good size.”

“Nice service by the staff. Went for dinner. Great location with a beautiful view of the ocean/beach. Food was so good. We had the tuna tiradito as a starter. The tuna was fresh and delicious and the sauce it came with was so flavorful. We couldn’t decide so we got the chafa rice, the ropa vieja and the saltado dishes. The chafa was my favorite and the rope vieja was my partner’s favorite. Everything was so yummy and we would definitely go back.”

“The reason I gave them 3 stars is based on dirty (food on the floor and dirty tables) appearance inside the restaurant. The tacos were decent the red salsa is good if you are looking for something more spicy. The beans have good flavor but the portion is very small for the price. $3 for a can of soda seems excessive in my opinion.”

“Very filling! Hot sauce was hot! Service was amazing! A wide variety of menu items.”

“The food here was good, depending on what you order. Like, I had fried oysters, which were good. But, my niece had the seafood bag and the flavor wasn't flavoring!!! She didn't not eat it all! My daughter had chicken Alfredo, which was good as well. Our waitress was good, when we first got there. After the delivery of our food, she disappeared, at which point I saw her laughing and just talking with co-workers, and we needed stuff at the table (i.e. drinks, napkins etc). FYI we had a party of 12.”

“We enjoyed our bagels. My French toast and honey pecan schmear bagel was served the east coast way sandwiched together nice and toasty. My husband got the French toast bagel with egg bacon and cheese. It was really good with a generous amount of bacon. Would be 5 star but it is a little dark inside and our iced mochas tasted more like chocolate milk than an espresso drink. Still we’d rather come here than ensure the hour long wait at other breakfast places on SPI.”

“::HIRE MORE HELP:: This is our second time coming and both times, we had to call someone for help after waiting several minutes. Today, we waited about 20 minutes before I got a chance to ask for assistance since the servers kept passing our table without acknowledging us and I saw a large crowd coming in. I ordered water and my husband water and coffee. She brought us one water and one coffee. After about 7 minutes waiting for the other water, I asked her for it... i got it after 20 minutes when i asked another server. You can definitely see the lack of leadership or management. Hire more help and train your staff to communicate "we'll be right with you", etc. A simple acknowledgement goes a long way. I don't blame the staff because I can see that they're working hard. There are about three tables of 7 people and one with 16; there are three groups of people that had been waiting at the door for a good 30 minutes before being seated. Tip: scope the place when you walk in. If it's pretty packed, have patience. If there's not a lot of people, enjoy! The food is pretty decent.”

“Staff were really welcoming and sweet! This is my first time trying an acai bowl and im happy i got to try one here. They have an outdoor seating area with two tables for two in front of the building and its the best thing ever! Definitely will visit again if i ever come back to SPI💗”

“Love the bar and restaurant service. The hot sauce jelly made by Chef Carlos is outstanding. Holy cow his hot sauce is worth the visit. Bartender Alex and bartender Shane are most excellent. Love room 199. If we needed anything the manager Chris took care of it. This place has an old school appeal that we love. I hear there are doing a full renovation during the off season. Can not wait to come back.”

“Pretty large restaurant which seems to be the trend with these South Padre Island restaurants. Walked in for dinner on Thanksgiving and they were fully staffed. Pretty slow for dinner I thought but it WAS Thanksgiving. Our server was very friendly and attended to us regularly. He didn't know the soup of the day but that seems like something that changes regularly and he just didn't remember what that days was but another server gladly helped him. Overall well done. Shoutout to our server Luke.”

“This was a really fun place to go to. It's right on the beach in South Padre island. They had live music. The food was very very good. Extremely casual. Virtually nobody was stressed up lots of people just in their bathing suits and flip-flops. Real nice comfortable place to go for a good meal that's pretty recently priced. I would definitely recommend this place.”

“First time going and had a real good time, the food was very good and they had so many choices. A great place to go eat and have a conversation with someone or a group of people. It's a formal place but most people were dressed semi formal more casual. The staff that was working was amazing. L Julio S. served us that day and he was fantastic highly encourage you request him when you go. They also take reservations which I would recommend for busy times in the year.”

“Poor food quality. I'm editing my previous review. 10-20-22 There was 3 guys working the night shift my food came out really quick and they were so nice I didn't catched their name but good customer service as well. I did not took pictures of my food cause I was quick to eat it lol. Thank you guys!”

“I have to say I was left quite speechless by the quality of service provided by a fast food establishment. Not only was our cashier (which I can only assume was the manager, or I hope should be one soon) extremely friendly and accommodating towards our family's needs. But even the gentleman that brought out our food was not only courteous towards us upon delivery, but made it a point to check in on us every time he would walk past our table. At Dairy Queen the food is always delicious, the level of service and attentiveness here though, was a very refreshing and unexpected surprise to our family vacation.”

“Liz was my waitress and did an extremely good job very attentive and friendly she needs a raise . I tasted all the food as like to be able to give reviews on the items I post pictures of. Fettuccine Alfredo was one of the best I’ve ever had 10 out of 10 scale. The stake was very definitely premium cut and the chef definitely knows how to cook a steak top 5 stake I have ever had being from Kansas City area and stakes are hard too beat this one was amazing 10 out of 10 . The was spaghetti and meatball was pretty good 7.5 out of 10. Wings 5 out of 10. Im a buffalo sauce wing guy grandma ordered honey garlic. So the flavor choice would have been different if I would have ordered wings”

“Best sunset view on the island. Located on the bay side of the island, this is a laid back place encapsulates that island feel we were looking for on our mini vacay. They had live music, multiple bands in the time we were there. Order your food and drinks at the bar. I’m definitely going back.”

“The restroom are located to the back. There is only single use restrooms for women and men. The women's restroom was clean and fully stocked. We arrived and it was busy and loud inside. It's a small place. One of the waitresses greeted us by saying they were really busy and it would be a 25 minute wait. We went outside and decided to order to go instead. A very nice man sitting outside in their nice setup told us we can order and eat it outside where he was sitting. He proceeded to get someone to turn the lights on outside for us. It was really nice cause we can see the ferris wheel all lit up from there. We sat there while we decided what to order and not even 10 minutes had gone by when a lady came out to let us know they had a table ready for us inside. Everyone was really nice and the service was fast. We ordered a pitcher of beer and the beer and mugs were cold. The pizzas were delicious!! I absolutely recommend this place.”

“We enjoyed our stay there. Chris and all of the staff were friendly, nice and polite. Chris hooked us up with a nice room. We were able to see the beach from our room. My wife and I went to south Padre island for our wedding anniversary. Even if you don't get a room with a view of the beach that is ok because you will be on the beach in less than one minute or you can enjoy some music and have some drinks at the bar facing the beach and talking in that cool breeze. I do recommend Coco Beach and take the family. Thanks Chris from my wife and I. We hope to visit again next month for my birthday. (Patrick)”

“Live Music, dance floor, if you want to get down. The musicians would sing Happy Birthday to patrons on request. That was cool. The restaurant was clean for an open space, the bathrooms were also clean They had people on the floor keeping the place clean and tables at all times, FOOD was delicious! Service was on point. It is kid-friendly and pets are welcome as long as you keep them on a leash. The view was beautiful! We will definitely be returning!!!”
