“Nice meal with room for improvement. The food was very good and high quality, a few dishes including the steak needed a pinch more salt. Drinks from the bar were painfully slow, one came 25 minutes after I’d ordered and was not made as well as the same thing I’d ordered earlier in the meal. My wife ordered the port flight for dessert and instead got the dessert wines which they happily replaced but we’d finished dessert before it was all sorted out. We ordered three desserts but only two showed up. The third wasn’t on our bill but we did want to try it. The restaurant was busy even early Saturday evening and the staff seemed to be scrambling. We’ll be back but for the cost hope the experience improves a bit. A nice addition to Shelburne.”

“They stand out from the crowd and above the rest of the bagel joints in a 50 mile radius. I can say that in comparison to the two orders I've requested at all bagel joints... an everything bagel toasted with egg and cheese & an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. Their attention to detail may not be noticed until visiting another bagel place. The bagels have a great outer crust that is crisp & the interior bagel is a lightly fluff of cooked dough. The egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel is so well perfected, that adding bacon may in fact, and it's difficult for me to say and accept, may actually disguise the amazing flavor combination of their perfectly cooked egg and cheese. The other bagel places in the area don't even achieve a place on the podium for excellence.”

“A chance conversation with the person who issued tickets for the farm visit resulted in my husband and me having a wonderful meal at the farm inn. We had dinner out on the patio, the sun had just gone down and the view was out of this world. The service excellent and the food was so delicious. The lamb and beef that we ordered together with the sides was the best we have had anywhere. The beef was cooked to perfection and the lamb was so tender. They graciously obliged to my husband’s request to swap the sides and the servers suggestion of the lemon caramel was the icing on the cake. It’s well worth the price and we would love to go again.”

“Delicious! Hard to pick just one thing off the menu. Loved the sweet potato fries ???? they were really crispy on the outside and obviously hand cut. Fish sandwich was super light and delicious. I loved that the bun wasn't completely white but I think maybe it is better suited to a hardier burger, I couldn't quite finish the whole bun - but my husband inhaled his Vermont Bacon Cheeseburger faster than I've seen him eat anything in weeks!”

For the amount of food you get, the prices are quite high but the taste is wonderful (which therefore explains the price!). When I went, my party did not try dessert but it looked wonderful. “The Innkeepers (Rose and Anatoli) were very accommodating to all of needs. I absolutely fell in love with my custom-made breakfast each morning!! I couldn’t wait to eat everything on my plate!! They also knew I was traveling by myself on my motorcycle and offered a variety of suggestions on places to visit and things to do!! The decor was impressive with so much thought and attention to detail!! Specifically, the teapot/teacup chandelier in the dining room!! My room was immaculate and had so much personality! The soaps and lotions smelled very nice!! I will definitely stay at The Heart of the Village again when I visit Vermont in the future.”
