“For our friend's 40th birthday, we booked a table for five on a Saturday night at Kirby Club, helmed by the team behind D.C.'s Compass Rose, Maydan, and Medina. Here's our experience. 1) Food: To feed five, we went family with a variety of dips, salads, and two orders of the Kebab Shindig. Everything tasted good, but the winner was the steak and all the dips, especially the grilled red pepper dip. (It's a tad sweet with the pomegranate.) We left full and even took home leftovers! 2) Drinks: Their menu pulls flavors from the Middle East like the Camillia Kirby, apricot tea-infused negroni that serves two, Sauvignon Blanc from Lebanon, and the Wanderer of Wanda (like a mango margarita). Every drink was refreshing! 3) Service: It's impeccable from start to end. Our server was attentive and gave us the best walk through of the food we ordered once it arrived at our table. 4) Space: The design is beautiful with inviting lighting, booth seating, a giraffe mural, and more. 5) Area: It's located in the Mosaic District in Fairfax. It's a bit a drive from D.C., but there's plenty to do once there. With several large parking garages, the area has restaurants, shopping, a brewery, a movie theater, and outdoor events.”

“Came here for dinner last night. This place has a nice bar and chill environment. My family and I ordered fried deviled eggs, garlic noodles, gumbo, blue crab and sea pho. Everything tasted amazing. The trill sauce was good with the crab and we also mixed some with our garlic noodle which was such a great combo.”

“This place is the best for students looking for a quick healthy grab. If you’re lucky enough, it’s best to come in the mornings to avoid that lunch hour traffic. Also if you’re a student that is sick and tired of trying to find a new study place then I recommend coming here where you can drink a nice cup of coffee and get your work done in peace! “I love the atmosphere here! There are so many colorful murals, even on the ceiling! The guacamole appetizer was good although on the small side. The bowl that my friend got looked delicious. “We happened to see a positive review of this place and discovered that we are just around the corner and we didn’t even know it existed! We stopped by one day and tried two of the different style of grits they had. I got the shrimp and grits and it did not disappoint! It was very tasty, although I would gladly pay for a larger portion size (the size was a bit small). The iced coffee was good too! Just note that they are a daytime cafe only - and closed on weekends. They probably mostly serve the surrounding office buildings for lunches but it’s a great little uncrowded spot and a convenient location with good food so definitely checking it out! Good to do work if you want a quiet spot - it’s nice and clean with plenty of tables. And when the weather gets nice, there is a good outdoor seating area as well.”

“Sushi is OK. Generous cuts of fresh fish. Tendon or tempura don looked hefty, but too much coating and not the light batter I expect for tempura pieces. When it gets cold, the thick batter gets a bit tough and a struggle to eat. Not a fan of breaded carrot. Nice presentation, but not practical because you have to take out the tempura pieces to get to the rice. Rice is not fluffy like what I expect from Japanese rice. Miso soup was good.”

“Outstanding as always! We’ve been going to taco bamba for years now ever since discovering their original location in Falls Church. As expected this location was great. Even with a line to the door on a Friday at 6pm they still delivered great food and excellent service. The big bar is great too because you can grab a drink while you wait in line. Cashier was super nice and the food was just as good as any of the other locations. We’ll definitely be back.”

“I'm not Vietnamese but I'm quite picky when it comes to which place I get my Pho. The best one I've ever come across is Pho 75 in Rosslyn and I usually drive an hour to go there some times. I'm so glad I found Pho Towda nearby because I don't have to drive that far now. The taste of the broth is very similar. The meat is super fresh. The staff works quick and efficient. As soon as I entered the restaurant and saw all the seat full of Asians, I knew it was going to be good and IT WAS. The decor is also pretty fresh and modern unlike traditional Pho restaurants which could be a little run down. I also like their new inventions like the crispy spring roll inside the summer roll. It was quite good. The bah mi with purple bread I took home was also amazing! This place is doing Pho and Bah Mi right! I'd be coming back for more Pho and Bah Mi to go!”

“I got in line on a Sunday evening as a way to mark the end of summer, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a line of 6-8 people to place their orders and another 4-6 people waiting for their ice cream on the other side. Service at both counters was friendly and efficient given the number of customers. I waited for what seemed like five minutes or so which I thought was reasonable. Others ate their ice cream around the store, but I took my ice cream away so I could freeze one for the next day and eat the other. The flavor selection was more diverse than what I had seen at a couple of other ice cream parlors. Not being as much a chocolate or nut fan as most, I was able to sample four more fruity flavors in two small cups for just over $10 total. The textures for all four scoops were predictably smooth throughout. The pie-flavored scoops of key lime and apple crunch had the brightest tastes for me. I liked the crunch element for the apple pie scoop, and I found the bright green color for the key lime appealing (I hope it was not artificial). The banana scoop was also quite satisfying, even if I had a deeper flavor elsewhere. The blackberry looked the part, and I would have liked a more assertive flavor to go with the purple color. I thought getting the variety of flavors for under $3 a scoop proved to be a decent value for the area with friendly service, so I could see myself visiting in the future if I wanted a more unique ice cream flavor or two or three or four.”

“Perfect place for a cold winters evening. Took the family, the kids (adults) love Korean food. The extra spicy isn’t too spicy. Seafood tofu jjigae is heavy on the tofu, light on the shrimp and other seafood. The individual hotpot is nice. Service was a little confused by our asking questions but resolved when someone more fluent in English came to the rescue. This is Korean home cooking/ comfort food. The place is new and was pretty crowded fir a Thursday night. We definitely will be back. Kids liked it as did I.”

“Shake Shake never misses when it comes down to the food. With this new location location in Mosaic, it has been great so far from my experience. The Food: I went with the double stack avocado bacon burger with a side of crinkle cut fries. The burger was nicely cooked and delicious as always. The fries were crisp and paired with with the shack sauce. The Service: for this location, they had multiple ordering kiosks for you to use, but there was one register taking orders as well. The kiosk was easy to navigate and very straightforward. The time it took for me to get my order was longer than I'd like, but that varies depending on time/day. Overall, solid 4/5. No complaints besides wait time.”

“All good things come to those who have patience. Besides it was not that much of a wait considering the number of customers. We came here for breakfast one Sunday morning in search of good bagels and breakfast. We were 4th to pay in a line of about 8 and our order came in 5 minutes. The sausage eggs and cream cheese was the best. The western on garlic a very close second. My kids went adult mode and ordered the Brooklyn and Little Italy. Eggs were piping hot just the way we like it, and even without butter the bagel was soft, and crisp as it should be. Really the cream cheese with eggs and sausage was so scrumptious, all 4 of us took turns relishing it. The whole family was behind the counter. The vibe was like home and service was personal. There were many regulars that know the staff by name and best of all the staff knew by name. This is our new breakfast joint.”

“We had a Colada Shop location closer to our home that we frequented until its closure a few years ago. We miss having it around but the next best thing is to travel to Mosaic for our Cuban cuisine fix. You can't really go wrong with anything on their menu, but I highly recommend the Cuban sandwich. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the pork was tender and flavorful. It's a filling meal in itself, but order it with the plantain chips and you're in for a real treat. We also love their guava and cheese pastelitos and coffee drinks. Service is top notch, even though it's quick service, our server brought our order out to our table despite the lunch rush. Its location is adjacent to Bloomie's with direct access to the store inside. Parking is at the multiple parking garages in the area, so expect a short 5 minute walk. Can't wait to visit again!”

“Came in here Tuesday evening and let me just say it is a great spot, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was amazing and the wings are the BEST I’ve had in a really long time!! The manager Estelle, I believe that was her name.. she was truly a big help and made sure we got everything we ordered. She is wonderful and she definitely deserves a raise!!
