“Are they any foodies out there? Yes, this is a Shell gas station. Yes, some may consider this to be on the sketchy side of town. However, neither of those statements should deter you from stopping in and checking out the utterly delicious hot food section inside. This place sells fried chicken, fried pork chops, fried chicken livers, fried chicken gizzards, and much more. I go strictly for the livers and gizzards! Everything is hot, crispy, and seasoned well. As a person who has traveled the world eating all kinds of fried stuff, this food is definitely worth stopping in for. It totally reminds me of the food I ate growing in Georgia. Which is why I go weekly!”

“Food was good. Service was barely acceptable. Manager was on point, but our server was not good. Bartender did a good job developing a rum flight for us.”

“Found this newly opened place today with my friends and it was definitely a very pleasant experience. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the presentation of the food was decent. Most importantly the food was extremely delicious and the fish was fresh. 10/10 would come back again.”

“Would definitely recommend this pop up bar in Richmond!! We arrived super early and they were so willing to open their door to us and the family:) with a smile! “Great vegetarian options, definitely one of my favorite cafés in Richmond. I love the Veggie Panini, the Hummus sandwich, and the Funny Honey is super tasty as well. Food usually takes about 20 mins, even longer on a busy day, so be prepared to wait or order ahead. The staff is nice & the coffee’s good, only thing that’s lacking is the ambiance in the cafe- definitely not my favorite place to sit and work all day, but the outdoor spaces in front and back are great on a nice day and the food always delivers. see u soon lift!”

“You’ll definitely need a reservation if you’re hoping to dine here during peak hours. I went for a Sunday brunch at 11:30 a and it was pretty packed. The space isn’t all that large and I could tell there were people at the bar and at the door waiting for tables to free up when we were leaving. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food and I like the mix of light and heavy options on the menu. All my food was flavorful; I do think the Caesar salad could’ve used less dressing & cheese or more lettuce. I enjoyed my entire entree and would visit again.”

“This is the best food I have eaten for $10 recently. Very lite food, not too spicy, low masala, feels like temple food. Curry tasted a little earthy, but was delicious. Perfect soft and comforting dinner.”

“I had the pleasure of eating here last weekend while visiting a friend in Richmond. I always try to find locally owned soul food restaurants whenever I’m traveling. I was very much impressed with the food, customer service, and ambiance of this establishment. The owner came out to greet my friend and I and chatted a bit. Everything was awesome!! I recommend the wings (I had the cherry pineapple) Mac & cheese, collards, and whipped banana pudding. Thank you to the owner and staff for making my visit memorable. I will definitely be back. May God bless you, your staff, and establishment. Keep up the good work”

“This place is so fun!! It's kind of like, a show AND you get to do arts and crafts, how cool is that? The staff are kind, funny, and entertaining, and there's always something really cool going on! It's a great place to just hang out, too. I highly recommend!!”

“Atmosphere is wonderful! A beautiful space. Wonderful flavors with layers and some surprises both on beverage and food menu! Friends enjoyed the cocktails and two of us had mock tails made- which were delicious! Beets and Brussels really impressed the table. Enjoyed the mushroom Ragu, Chicken dish and the Lobster Risotto- worth the wait. A lot of scratch kitchen dishes, fun takes on some classic preparations, which adds to the overall atmosphere making this a great culinary and social space. Well done! Once they have time in the space and gel their service team… this is going to be a new Richmond fave! Will do the Chef’s tasting next time- seemed a great way to explore the menu!”

“Food: very good, an option to warm up would be nice. Coffee: standard fare, we didn't try any special flavors... we like our coffee how your mom likes REDACTED...black. Price: for 2 muffins, 1 pastry and two small coffees, the price with tip and taxes was about $22. Overall: recommend as a once in a while treat!”

“Bono’s Caribbean is hands down the best Caribbean food spot on this side of the east coast. The curry goat and oxtail are incredibly flavorful and aromatic and the meat is ridiculously tender and falls right off the bone and mixes in perfectly with either plain white rice or rice and peas. But the choice of dishes doesn’t stop there. The fried fish, curry shrimp, fried chicken, jerk chicken are all mouth watering favorites, I really can’t pick one. What also makes this establishment different from many Caribbean restaurants is the level of service I received. More than anything, I hope they become a well-known spot for Jamaican food throughout the state. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and patient. I’m a lifer!!!”

“Highly rated local market with local meat and produce, organic food, and bulk items. The juice bar does a steady business and the locals pick up prepared food here to dine at one of the tables in front. Live music is offered on a regular basis. Supports many worthwhile community events. Prices often a little higher than the big markets, but not glaringly so.”

“Their pasties are fresh made daily and so good. They always have vegan/gluten free options, too, like the vegan olive oil cake. It's so delicious! They adapted quick and well to the demands of the pandemic. Though we're no longer allowed inside, it's kind of a blessing because their pastry case is in the front window now and much easier to peruse. No more squished feeling and trying to navigate a small crowded space.”
