“I just finished with my first visit to this place. Several items purchased and $70 later, this is my review. The store was extremely clean. The staff greeted me warmly as soon as I walked thru the door. They had several hard-to-find items that I am happy to add to my pantry. Additionally, the meat is fresh, as is the delicious looking desserts like the Baklava I bought. Lastly, I received a free dessert upon leaving. I highly recommend this place. “We have been there twice since it opened and both times the food was excellent, service super friendly, and the location sparkling and clean. I've never been to this chain before, but it's what all the other Americana chains strive to be. Fav dish so far has been the Loaded Nachos. Can't wait to go back and try more. “Leaving an early review with intentions to return in the near future and update 👍 this spot has great potential on a tough street to do business on in the valley view area. Historically restaurants have had their challenges on this street in particular with a 1-way in / out. So good luck. We visited and they did not yet have their alcohol license and were also out of several items. We waited a bit long on our food but regardless, service was friendly, helpful and positive. And the ingredients seemed fresh and well prepared. We tried many of the dishes and didn’t have complaints on taste or presentation. Next time we return, we will sit at the bar and try again!”

“When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was very modern and stylish, with a warm and inviting feel. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. For our main course, we ordered the all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and Hot Pot. This was a great option for us, as it allowed us to try a variety of different dishes. The food was all cooked to perfection, and it was so fresh and flavorful.”

“Reviewing for the restaurant. The Maridor is a game-changer for the Grandin neighborhood. It offers one of the most pleasant dining spaces in Roanoke. The inside is beautiful, while the patio and lawn are inviting and lovely. The food is simply phenomenal. The steam baked oysters were a revelation to me, a wonderful alternative to the typical raw serving (they have those too). The BBQ shrimp is excellent and you'll want to get more bread to soak up the spicy, delicious sauce. The Garlic Noodles (with beef), were balanced and really great. Service is solid and you can expect the chef to come check on you. They are very welcoming to children, as we've brought our toddler multiple times now. The rear lawn offers a nice, mostly enclosed place for kids to run and play, while the parents can relax on the patio within eye shot of the entire lawn. Cocktails are delicious and reasonably priced ($8-12 range if I recall) compared to similar establishments. You might be looking for an alternative since another local, root-oriented Grandin restaurant has seen significant decline recently. The Maridor is your answer!”

“Excellent place to go to celebrate. The menu is somewhat tapas style but not separated into small plates and large plates. In our party of 6 we tried a majority of the menu and everything was great. My particular favorites were the steak tartare (though maybe a little strong with capers) and the khachapuri. The "fun with cheese" plate was definitely a crowd pleaser. We sat in the vault / VIP room, and while a little echoey, was a very cool and private room experience.”

“Went here a couple weeks ago and my experience was okay. Staff was nice and there's a multitude of creative food combinations. All the entrees comes with fries included. Both me and my companion got the Ramen burger. Mine had egg added and they had mushrooms and peppers added. There were about three orders in front of us, but I didn't feel I waited too long to get my meal. We ate in the market area so they will call your name when your food is ready. The plating was clean and your burger will come wrapped in foil with a small basket of fries. Fries were seasoned really well. My burger however was a little burnt in parts and I thought the patty itself was dry with not that much flavor. The two ramen patties stayed together while wrapped in the foil, but slowly fell apart when I tried to pick it up to eat the burger traditionally. I suggest using the knife and fork instead so you can get everything in one bite instead of pieces dropping out or at least make sure to eat over your plate to catch the pieces. My companion's burger was not burnt and there's tasted a little better which brought me to the conclusion that you should choose to add one or two extra things to your burger instead of eating it plain with an egg like I did. The downside to that is every extra thing you add is a small additional charge which can make the burger around $17-$18 respectively, but I think it's worth it if you get the Ramen Burger. It was good to try once, but don't think I would get that burger again. Will go back however to try one of the hot dogs at some point and maybe give one of the other burgers a try. “I ordered the Italian hoagie after advising staff this was my first time visiting. They pointed out that they have daily specials, however I wasn't interested in today's special which was a meatball sub. This sandwich tasted good. However, value for money wasn't there in my opinion, as I received an approximately 8" sub for $12.00. I was still hungry afterwards and that is never the case when I get subs from some of the other shops locally. I want to go back again. The sub was delicious and well balanced with the flavors. I probably won't have my bread toasted next time, as it make it tough to chew. I will try a cheesesteak next time. I might come back and update the review.”

“This was one of the coolest hotels I have stayed in. Great location and a really neat decor and theme. There is no front desk and no staff that I saw, but the rooms were well stocked with amenities and snacks (for free) with more available in a common area. The way the hotel blended into the furniture gallery and restaurant was really neat. This isn't the place for you if you want to see staff, but if you are okay with a virtual check in, this place is great”

“I wouldn’t go to this store under the previous owner because he creeped me out. Now that it’s ran be new people, I decided to go back. Not gonna lie, I was pretty skeptical of the pizza, but I was pleasantly surprised! I had the paneer pizza and it was really good. The crust reminds me of pizza huts crust and I could tell the vegetables were fresh. The store is super clean and the people who operate it and the pizza side are super nice and friendly.
