“I tried The Hatch for the first time this evening. As a Roanoke native who's traveled all over, in and out of the country, and always said I've like just about anywhere but here, I felt the need to come review this place, because that's how we keep good things around, and how we hopefully bring even more great places in the future. Anyways, a lot of people have had chicken and waffles, and most of us have had breakfast out, but I was pretty taken aback by how good the sandwich I had tonight was. It seemed like everything was very fresh and made to order. I got the Fried Chicken and Waffles sandwich (Chicken Waffle Sammy) and it truly might've been the best country style sandwich I've ever had. The bacon and egg on the sandwich was truly what took it to another level in terms of texture and flavor profile, and the chicken breading lightly crisp with a very tender inside. The waffle on the outside was perfectly cooked and soft without being soggy. The syrup almost wasn't even necessary, but I did dip my sandwich in it and it was just the icing on top. Perfect sandwich. I'll be back for sure and will gladly recommend this to friends.”

“Great little bistro in downtown Roanoke. There is a soothing ambiance and the food is wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very good crusty breads. The chocolate croissant and sticky buns are amazing. I really love some of the heartier breakfast/brunch dishes like the chorizo and eggs with a baguette, as well as the bacon salad. Coffee is not bad either. All around yummy and charming!”

“I had the most amazing and hilarious encounter with two employees named Caroline and Liv in the drive through! They complimented my hair and were just little rays of sunshine that Completely brightened my day. I felt bad ordering such a complicated drink and they were out of peach but the employees were very sweet and accommodating and even gave me recommendations. “I'm still trying to figure out how on earth this food is vegan. It's so delicious..the mock chicken salad is mind blowing. Everyone was very nice and the food is amazing at a good price. New favorite spot. I got the mock BBQ to take to work for lunch, but had to sneak a bite and it's also amazing. The sides are also delicious, and the desserts as well (brownie, oatmeal craisin cookie). The restaurant is also very clean and has a good vibe. Love that they sell menu items by the pound like a deli.”
