“This Denny's is a local favorite and one of the few outlets near Roanoke. I've been going here for years, since high school, and I've always received great service and good food. It's amazing that it's open 24 hours, which, when combined with Denny's vast menu, means I can get pretty much any kind of food anytime! My only complaint with this location would be that they seem like they're a little short on staff, which does mean longer wait times. All in all though, a great spot to stop and eat!”

“My favorite Hot Dogs !! I eat here weekly ..Great combo deal & service is always great. Get two Hot Dogs & Fries & Drink for a little over six bucks ..but I gotta add slaw . They have a drive thru very fast service. Always clean ..may be a little crowded at lunch time but worth the wait . This is their second location they have one in downtown Roanoke. So get your Hot Dog fix...love them !!”

During Cinco de Mayo (which I realize is a busy night), though, we got completely ignored and ended up leaving after asking two staff members to place our drink order and never seeing either of them again. “I usually love Papa John's Pizza very much. But the red headed night manager was very impatient and rude. I needed help using the app on my phone to get discount. After I asked him how long it was going to take he handed me my phone back and refuse to help me and or give me the discount. Needless to say I left the pizza there and reordered it with the discount and have someone else pick it up. It was good but I worried about whether they spit in my pizza or not.”

“Amazing staff and quality in the entire restaurant, standard or above standard Subway quality. I choose this particular Subway when I'm anywhere in Roanoke because of their back screened-in patio that looks out over some old railroad tracks (only visible in the winter/fall) and in the summer it looks out unto the pretty green woods and down a hill. Placebos always clean with ample seating inside and out on the patio (where there is properly volumed music playing, I believe it is playing 94.9 Star Country out there, easy to tune or deafen out with or without headphones, buy still loud enough to be enjoyed. Other than that it's an above average high quality Subway with great staff.”

“We FINALLY got a chance to stop by this wonderful bakery in Roanoke. We visited the downtown location at about 11:30 am and while we were gawking at all the food options, several people walked in behind us and lined up to be served. So... this place is pretty popular, even though it is relatively small and tucked away in the city market area of downtown. That let us know right away that the food here must be great. The atmosphere is lovely and cozy. The people are kind and helpful and the food we saw looked amazing. We took some treats to go for later in the day and were not disappointed. The lunch options include cold and hot sandwiches, soup and pizza - with many bakery items for sale. We got the feeling that they make a limited amount every day and when it's gone... it's gone. So if you find a favorite item, stop by early to grab it or you might be out of luck. Everything we had was fresh and prepared very well. It's hard to find a really good local bakery that knows their stuff. Stop by and support this business. Your tongue will thank you!”

“Fun nightspot in downtown Roanoke. Clean and well maintained. Pool, sports on TV big screen, good bar and reasonably priced menu. They have a DJ most weekends (shout out to DJ Spazzout!), have a comedy club early at least once a month, and run college nights during the summer. Lots of good dancing in a low stress environment, good security, good vibe. Parking is on street paid lot or garage (normal for downtown) and ADA compliant as far as I can tell. Good spot to get your groove on and get your night rolling!”

It arrived with a tiny portion of beans and a ton of shredded cheese. After scraping off a softball size amount of cheese, there was still too much.
