“We had the Bilstad's Beignets and they're really good. We've had Louisiana beignets (Café du Monde) and Texas beignets (there are several places in Houston area). These are up there in terms of texture, softness, and being very airy. The best thing about the beignets are you can reheat them and they still tasted great. Other places, you'd have to eat them right away. Can't reheat them or freeze them. After we reheat them, we sprinkle with more powdered sugar as they tend to melt when they're stored too long in the bag as well as being in the toaster oven. $8 for 6 beignets. My youngest LOVES these so much. Would highly recommend.”

“All good things come to those who have patience. Besides it was not that much of a wait considering the number of customers. We came here for breakfast one Sunday morning in search of good bagels and breakfast. We were 4th to pay in a line of about 8 and our order came in 5 minutes. The sausage eggs and cream cheese was the best. The western on garlic a very close second. My kids went adult mode and ordered the Brooklyn and Little Italy. Eggs were piping hot just the way we like it, and even without butter the bagel was soft, and crisp as it should be. Really the cream cheese with eggs and sausage was so scrumptious, all 4 of us took turns relishing it. The whole family was behind the counter. The vibe was like home and service was personal. There were many regulars that know the staff by name and best of all the staff knew by name. This is our new breakfast joint.”

I asked for the lemon cake with pink or white peonies and white lily of the valley flowers (to represent May), and I was amazed when I saw the cake! “Our 10 yo son is allergic to nuts, dairy, eggs and wheat. Needless to say finding him food while traveling is difficult and finding him desserts is near impossible. This shopwas recommended to us while we were at the strip and I am so glad we drove out. He got a few day old donuts, which were still excellent, and he finally got to try a donut for the first time. He also got a cookie sandwich that was as big as his head and has been eating it bit by bit. I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. The sweets were so good our entire family enjoyed them and that never happens with his allergen friendly food.”

“Texas donut converted this non-donut lover. My friend gifted us 8 donuts plus two Texas donuts as a postpartum gift. At first I was really disappointed because I've never met a donut that I liked. Each sitting area has acrylic shields for covid protection. Friendly cheerful staff! This was a church and all the character is left untouched.
