“Authentic taste and service. Simple menu. Healthy choices. Not the taste you expect; but be ready for delicious. Not american food. For now lots of seating and no lines.”

“I ate at the Madison Diner for the first time since it became the Madison Diner on January 6th. My first impression was that this place not only is clean and tidy but that the staff were immediately friendly and all greeted me with good morning. The atmosphere is full of happy people talking and enjoying themselves. This is exactly what I look for in a diner setting. Now the food, reasonably priced and very tasty. My omelet was cooked perfectly including the meats inside, the hash browns both crunchy and soft, and finally a warm, light as a feather, butter biscuit. This place will definitely be seeing me again.”

“This was our first time there. The staff was very tentative and polite. The food was absolutely amazing. Every single item tastes different and very very delicious, whereas in many Hispanic restaurants the food all taste the same. This was certainly NOT the case. Everything was authentic and cooked to perfection. This was hands down the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. I will certainly be back. It was so good I had to call my mom, who is Hispanic, just to rave about the food. AMAZING!”

“We stopped in here on our way to the ferry. It’s a casual spot. You order at the counter. I felt that it was pricey for counter service. Our total came to $40 for two meals and two coffee. Food was good, but wasn’t served piping hot. However service was quick!”

“The best crepes in all of Seattle. Superb. Great vegetarian options if you want to go savory. My favorite are the sweet though, especially the blueberry and vanilla ice cream.”

“Simply darling little restaurant. Fantastic, fresh food and friendly service. I had the lamb chops, they were juicy and cooked perfectly to my liking. I'm definitly coming back soon! Quick walk or drive to the ferry if you need to get back to Seattle. Highly recommended!”

“This place is amazing. I got the octopus and chowder (both were AMAZING, wow) and my husband got the fish and chips (also very good). Everything was delicious. It’s a great spot for a quick meal but not somewhere to hang and drink. Very close to all the shops on Bainbridge. A perfect afternoon!”

“Great food, fast & friendly service, reasonable prices. We stopped in here last night to let rush hour traffic calm down & have dinner before our drive home. The dim sum, special curry bowl & pho with chicken were all excellent & on the table quickly. Our servers were all friendly and the owner even stopped by to chat for a few minutes. I'd read they that they were automatically adding a 20% tip, but that was not true. When the bill came, there was no tip added. Given our whole experience however, I added 20% because they had earned it.”

“Excellent service and wonderful food. Especially popular with the local crowd, and seating is limited - definitely worth placing a reservation if you're planning to go during a weekend or other evening that would be busy.”

“I have been making this a must stop for years. Great food, drinks and people. I have had many gatherings here. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. Great for lunch or dinner.”

“The food was the closest I think you're going to get to vegetarian fast food beyond maybe the impossible burger. Which means it was pretty good, but you feel weirdly guilty about eating it? It was nice and quick, though.”

“This place is awesome! We had such a good time here! The food was exquisite and James did an amazing job serving us - great attention to detail and nice conversation. Eating lunch here was a highlight of our Island visit!”

“Hands down the best coffee I have ever had! The almond milk latte I had was rich and smooth with no bitterness and no acidity. What stood out was the sweetness of the latte. I almost doubt if they put sugar in it! Victrola has very good latte, but Blackbird bakery's latte is even better!”

“First time eating here. I got the chicken yakisoba and a friend got the gyoza. Both very delicious.”

“Great food! Reminds me of the best pizza we got in New York. We had meat balls, wood fired bread, and two pizzas. Everything was fresh and delicious. We also got some drinks, nothing fancy, but no problems. Friendly staff, good service; we never felt forgotten or rushed. Will definitely be back, totally recommend!!”

“This bistro was divine. The local red and white flights were delicious and well ranged in both selection and price. The food was also delicious and service exceptional. Come here to impress a date with the lovely view and interior or have some fantastic appetizers and wine.”

“The atmosphere and food was incredible! The service could have been a little better for the price, but overall wasn't terrible. One of the items I had ordered completely toppled over when it was placed on the table and the waitress didn't say anything about it. Not a big issue at all though. I would definitely go back again.”

“Spent Valentine's Day at Ba Sa and it was great! From the host, to the server to the owner checking in to see how we were, the service was great. Food was very flavorful and unique. The catfish was incredible. I will go back just to have that again! Great cocktails too. Really enjoyed Ba Sa and it was nice to have a new restaurant with fresh flavors on BI!”

“Decent (and huge) omelettes, good coffee, fairly expensive, always crowded (it's very small, but there's a counter, which is particularly convenient if you're alone)... but mostly a spectacularly pleasant atmosphere in which to eat breakfast. It's just so.... cheerful, it makes the future seem bright! The Streamliner is a Bainbridge institution, for good reason. You probably won't want to go here all the time, but it's a really nice place to go occasionally....”

“Had a wonderful experience tonight. Live music set the tone. We enjoyed hot teas while our two boys each had ice cream. I also indulged in the Mexican brownie which was ridiculously good! My family each took a bite or two and also loved it. We will be back for sure! Also, the barista was a sweetheart!”

“Amazing!! We were in Bainbridge for Valentines weekend and had reservations for Doc's Marina and Grill. I had the Linguine with Prawns and my Boyfriend had the Crab Mac and Cheese. Both items were SO GOOD. We also had the flour less chocolate torte for dessert with a side of ice cream... YUM! Our table was in the "dock" portion of the restaurant which overlooked the sailboats and water. It was so romantic and relaxing for Valentines Day. Our waiter, Joe, was the nicest waiter I've ever had at any restaurant which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. We loved this place so much that we went there the next night as well! I got the mushroom risotto, added prawns again, and it was INCREDIBLE. Best risotto I have ever had. My boyfriend got the fish and chips which were great as well. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.”

“Clean, great service, friendly staff, and the owner is a delightful host. View overlooking the boat harbor and across the water toward Seattle is amazing. Food is excellent, with a good, if a little typical, variety. A relaxed, casual atmosphere, nice for visiting with friends, family, and business associates. Wine is good and reasonably priced.”

“Overall review: The food was amazing, and I would have given 5 stars, but the bartender had a rather rude conversation about us with another customer, which threw off the experience somewhat. - - - My husband and I stopped on our way home from Seattle last weekend as a part of our birthday celebrations. I was blown away by the clam chowder (probably the best I've ever had), and really liked the calamari as well. The chowder was piping hot, full of potatoes and goodness, broth was amazing, and it was piled high with mussels on top and the pat of butter was a really good touch. Highly recommend getting the bread with your chowder and dipping it. The calamari was better than average. They use bigger pieces than most places, so the calamari itself was the star of the plate rather than the fry batter. My husband liked it as well but didn't love the bigger pieces- guess that's a personal taste thing. We also ordered oyster shooters, which were just okay but they're a fun experience. Drinks were great and we'll definitely go back for the food. The only uncomfortable part of our experience was hearing the bartender joking about how we looked underage with one of her bar customers while we sat down- we're both 22, and yes, we look young, but it never feels good to be talked about, especially by your server and another customer in the restaurant. After the conversation she came over and ID'd us first thing. Other than that the service itself was fine.”

“Sawan is located in Lynwood. A small town on southern Bainbridge island. Out of the few restaurants within Lynwood, Sawan is definitely one of the stronger restaurants to go to when visiting Lynwood. It has great service and a fantastic atmosphere. I’ve eaten here many times and highly recommend eating here. Basically everything on the menu is great. I recommend the drunken noodles with sticky rice, but they have many great dishes. Overall it is a great family run restaurant. If you are in Lynwood definitely come here.”

“This place hits the spot if you're jonesing for a burger. The expanded burger menu, grilled cheese, shakes, tots, onion rings, etc. are great too. Grab a sunny spot outside if you're lucky. Pets welcome. Fun kids chalk wall inside so very family friendly too.”

“Just moved here recently and this became my new coffee place immediately. Everyone there was nice and the house drip coffee is good and at a good price. They have a good coffee loyalty program and I already enjoyed my first free drink on New Years Eve. I stopped over for a beer later that evening , ( amazing pints) and ended up staying until they closed. I really did not know anyone in town yet and I was really made to feel at home. Talked to many nice locals and heard some very nice music from Kara Hesse who was the featured performer. It was a very nice evening, nice crowd, lots of families having fun and very glad this establishment is right by me !”

“Fish and chips are good and reasonably priced. I found food too salty for my taste. The coleslaw was very good. Good service too. Nice clean place”
