“Most delicious bakery in Madison! We were fortunate to have Bloom cake and cupcakes at our wedding! The bride is gluten-free, and If you’ve been to Bloom, you know how delicious their baked goods are. (If you haven’t been to Bloom, you should go right now.) The staff was easy to work with and they provided us with a tasting box option to help narrow down the flavors we were looking for. We served cupcakes for our guests: chocolate ganache, carrot cake and blueberry-lemon, all outrageously delicious, and our guests loved them. As for ourselves, we had a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting… and we made a point NOT to share something this good. :-) Gluten-free or not, if you’re looking for the best cake in the Madison area, then look no further than Bloom.”

“Coconut cream cold brew is to die for in the summer! Love their lattes and cold brew year ‘round. Honey biscuit sandwich is one of our favorite breakfasts in Madison!”

“I don't get to go here as much as I'd like to, living so far away but when in madison, I make it a point to. They're a savior with their healthier food and in a personal note: In my older age, my gut and tastes have changed. This is the rare place, I can try new things and not worry. Because of their tuna burgers, I can still eat tuna. Love those things!”

“I love the co=op! I have been a member here for a couple years and love the atmosphere, ethics, and quality of the food. It is a bit on the pricier side and I imagine if you have kids it might be out of budget, but for a single person it's perfectly fine! There's a bit of an elephant-in-the-room situation at the East co-op with the panhandling that occurs at the exits. I'm very sympathetic to these folks and will usually give them whatever change I have, but since covid sometimes don't have any. There's one person in particular who can get a big aggressive. The last time I visited the co op this person approached me asking for cash, I apologized and said I had to go. I think by my voice they realized I'm transgender, and proceeded to start yelling slurs and me and following me and harassing me for some time. I know they're just trying to get by, but I don't feel comfortable coming visiting anymore :( another friend of mine has also been harassed. There's not really a good solution, which sucks, because I miss the espresso brownies like mad. If you don't come on foot I imagine it's easier to avoid!”

“Stopped at Gotham while I was visiting Madison. The egg sandwich was really good and made fresh in front of me. Bagel was really good. Much, much better than I have had at other bagel places outside of New York. Coffee was hot and fresh. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because I thought it was a little pricey, BUT, nothing that would break the bank. A large coffee, buttered bagel and Bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel was $11.50. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend Gotham Bagel!”

“This wonderful place was recommended by family and was well worth the stop. The bread is ancient grain quality and worthy of eating, and I don’t waste bread calories. Breakfast choices are many, pictured here is the eggs Benedict (the hollandaise sauce was perfect) on their cheddar and chive biscuit. The apple pie was topped with their homemade cinnamon ice cream. Best apple pie I’ve ever had. Lattes were good-you will not be disappointed!!”

“What a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Or go there for a loaf of bread or for a dessert - everything looks yummy and their lunches and desserts were delicious! And for under $10.”

“The decor and vibe is really cool here. The idea behind the food and the variety is great. The food was good but lacking texture. We had the eggs Benedict and the farmers hash. The Benedict had a small amount of minced prosciutto instead of strips and the biscuit was soft. The flavor was nice still. The hash was again good but needed bacon or something hard to help the texture. No butter on the toast or on the side was strange. Lastly we ordered a donut since that's their specialty I was expecting a nice big glazed donut but something was off about the dough or the oil. It left a very oily and bitter aftertaste. The vanilla latte was one of the best I've had.”

“Soups were delicious as always. I was quite disappointed in the quality put into my sandwich though. My sister and I both ordered sandwiches with avocado and found them to be extremely hard avocados. And I mean hard like this thing flew across the table when I tried to press it with a knife. Like ok a had avocado but when I told the manager about it he only said that they've been having problems with their supplier and that he personally wouldn't have served it but their it away, he apologized but that was all. Hearing from people who've gone to this location before the avocado problem is not new and has been neglected to be remedied as they've served hard avocados for a long while. I also wonder about other service at this location as a lady complained about her iced coffee being pale and flavorless. Like I said soups are great but probably best to avoid anything with avocado in it”

“You don't have my black bean soup! Shame on you Panera ???? Besides that point, I felt the meal was quite expensive for what we actually got. $50 for two adults and two kids. And we got cold meat sandwiches? The food tasted good and was fresh, but for $50 we could've ate somewhere more than a sandwich shop.”

“They have this new drink called a lemonade frost, it is made to order and it’s the best thing I have ever had in my life! The employees are so wonderful they are always smiling and are quick to get your order together. Love this place! Keep up the good work guys!!”

“Always a warm cozy atmosphere and delicious food. I had the baked oatmeal and a vegan blueberry scone - yummy. There were groups of people gathered and they looked so relaxed. You feel that when you walk in the door.”

“An ideal place for a weekend brunch. Now, I don't know if it is authentic French food or not but some of the dishes are good. We ordered quiche which was unlike any other I've had, and in a good way. The spinach crepe was not worth the money but the salted caramel was good. Their bread pudding is one of the best. Ambience is average and tables are too close to each other. Overall some food items are definitely worth trying. Lots of free parking space unlike downtown.”

“Great sandwich meals. I had samples of two. Both were excellent.”

“The Pancake Cafe was fine for what it is; a chain breakfast restaurant. The service was fine but not extraordinary, and the food was the same. I will say this, though. You definitely get your money's worth; the portion sizes were HUGE! I ordered a five egg omelette as my meal with no intention of having anything else, only to find out that it came with hash browns and three full size pancakes. The only real complaint I have is regarding the cleanliness; it's evident from little things (like the dirt and crumbs in the bottom of the sugar caddy or the musty smell of the carpet, particularly near the restrooms) that attention to detail is not a priority. Other than that, our visit was fine. I'd say we'd be back, but we're in town from Georgia visiting family, so that's unlikely.”

“Great place to grab a quick coffee. The butter pecan is the best (pictured). I get black with the flavor and that’s sweet enough. Donuts are usually slim pickings on the weekends after 10am. Parking can be a headache at this location since the drive thru line runs into the spaces to park. Service is speedy overall.”

“Original pancake house makes food extremely well and fresh. The food is always cooked perfectly, but, like a number of Madison restaurants, does not believe in adding salt or pepper to food. It's a shame since everything really is cooked so well and fresh. The jams and butter from there are top rate. I'm pretty sure they're made in house, but if not they're still really great. Atmosphere is a bit loud since it's frequently packed, bathrooms are clean, service is good, and the place is CASH ONLY. Just something to be aware of.”

“Best El pastor meat I have ever had!!! The tortas are amazing too!!! The owner seems to really care about the quality of food he puts out. This will be my new to go Mexican restaurant.”

“Great place for coffee and meeting a friend. Friendly staff and the wifi works good for working. They tend throttle it down around the lunch hour as in if you've been on if for a while they kick you off. I guess they like seats for paying Custer's at lunch while you are on your forth cup of coffee. Great place and convenient location right off of University Ave.”

“If I could eat here every day I probably would. The prices are unbelievable. Less than half of what a breakfast sandwich costs at most other places. The sandwiches always taste so good too.”

“Right outside of campus to avoid the noise of college life, but close enough for a visit with family. Great restaurant with plenty of food options. Has outdoor seating for nice days too! I tried the meat quiche and the lemon crepes and they were both very good.”

“I love how cozy the seating is here. We were able to feel like we could sit and talk comfortably and privately even though the place was full of people, and the seating is arranged so that you aren't sitting in a draft every time someone opens the door. Also, great food and drinks. We will definitely be coming back!”

“I come here way too frequently because it is convenient for me. The staff is friendly and welcoming. When I first started coming here it seemed like they were really short staffed but they never let that stop them from giving high quality service. It seems like they slowly got staffed up and now they are even better. Like I said I come here frequently enough that they know my name and obviously I would not do that if I didn't think it was worth my money. There are plenty of other places to grab a quick breakfast while I wait for the Law Library to open.”

“Very small Dunkin, but I have never had a problem with ordering here. I usually just drive through though because there is very little parking. They were friendly, quick and the coffee was good. So exactly what you look for at a Dunkin! The bathrooms are usually very clean here as well.”

“They always have a good selection of bagels, sandwiches and coffee that's fresh, plus a decent rewards program. But they seem to be chronically understaffed during busy periods. I've had to wait over 20 minutes just for two bagels with cream cheese. If they can fix the staffing issue it'd be a five star place”
