“Seafood Gumbo, served only on Fridays, starting at 11:00 am. A MUST stop for us when traveling through Mobile. Located 1/2 mile off I 65.Really great cafeteria style soul food restaurant, affordable and not skimpy on the quantity. Wide variety of food, from Turkey legs to fried pork chops to bbq ribs”

“My friend was in town visiting from New York and I knew I had to take her here. We both got the lobster mac and cheese which is phenomenal. A guy who I presume to be the manager or owner personally brought out our food and took care of us for the rest of our visit, refilling our waters etc. As we walked out he was on the phone and put his call on hold to thank us for coming in. The staff is very friendly and the natural light is wonderful in the afternoon. One of the best restaurants in Tuscaloosa!”

“I love a good Hardee's burger and didn't disappoint at this location. I was worried because there were no customers there. They were courteous and very fast.”

“Everything we have tried at Pearl Garden has been excellent. The staff are always courteous and service excellent. We crave the House Egg Foo Young and House Hot and Sour soup for two.”

“I've been to this restaurant three times now, it's both the food and the service that keep me coming back. I've been for both dinner and brunch, and my favorite meal was the salmon salad. The portions surprised me for the price and I was happy with the way the salmon was cooked. The service crew are very attentive and I have never experienced a wait to be seated. There's a cute beer garden out back which I would like to try next time I visit, which will be soon.”

“4 stars for the food, but gotta add one for the service. The servers were attentive and super friendly. We asked for several things, and not once did they appear to be disturbed that we stopped them. WOW. We had a big burger, it was really good, kinda plain, but most folks don't like seasoning like I do. Sweet potato fries were excellent, regular fries were bland (seasoning again). I'm ready to go back and try their steak. This is old school good.”

“My favorite coffee place when my buck isn’t large enough for Starbucks. It is much cheaper than Starbucks and there are a lot more special flavors and drinks to choose from. They usually have different promotional flavors every month or two. They have food too like donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and cookies/brownies. My favorite is the iced caramel macchiato with sugar and extra caramel. My go to seasonal favorite is the caramel macchiato with sugar and pumpkin syrup. The service is usually pretty fast and the employees are friendly.”

“Pretty good food! I guess technically it's part of the hotel. The menu is rather limited, but still. It took about 5 minutes for me to be seated, because there wasn't anyone at the front desk, but the waiter was pleasant and kind. It's a nice place. Check it out.”

“This is one of the best Jimmy John's I have ever eaten at. My family goes quite often & the service is always fast & best of all, our orders are always right. Can't ask for more!”

“Food was the typical stuff like available in all Taco Bells around in the US. Location clean and well maintained. The guy on the counter was the only one who had a real idea about what is going on. OK to get food - not interesting if you wanna eat something and stay for a chat or smalltalk with your beloved ones.”

“The food was fantastic! I got the chicken Alabama and it was absolutely perfect. The chicken was juice, warm, and the skin was perfectly crisp. I also got a farmers market lemonade on the house because it was my 21st birthday, which was really nice. However, the appetizer did not come out until the dinner came out. The place is definitely all about the ambiance, as it takes a while for food to come out. There seemed to also be only four people on staff for a resturaunt with 77 people capacity, which seems odd. There was one waitress, one hostess, one bartender and one cook, which is definitely not enough people. I did really enjoy the waitress as she was kind and humorous. I would say out of the four of us, two of us had a really good time, and two of us had an okay time.”

“Cypress Inn was closed so we decided to do my niece graduation luncheon here. I must say I was impressed with my food. We had Crispy Fried Green Tomatoes, Shrimp and Fried Crab Claws as an appetizer. My catfish entree was very tasty. The greens were okay and the mac and cheese was very good. All in all, great atmosphere, great server and great food!”

“I usually prefer Texas BBQ, but this was excellent Alabama BBQ! The sauce was a little tangy with some kick. The meat was tender and juicy. The staff was very friendly and the service was prompt. We went a little after normal lunch rush and it was perfect!”

“I have had fried catfish in a lot of places but Thomas Rib Shack has REALLY good catfish. Everything we had here was amazing. The service was great and the staff was friendly. The establishment itself was very clean. I can't wait to try more of their great food!”

“My wife felt for soul food so we went to Flavaz not knowing that soul food is only sold on Sun. But since we were already there we decided to try something else, my wife tried their fried wings and fries and a side of okra which she loved. She said that they were fried just right and would order them again. I myself had the fried ribs and fries and did not like them, they were over fried and real greasy. However when Ashley the manager asked me if I liked my food and found that I didn't she made my food over. Looking forward to going back for the Sea food and soul food. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because there was no dessert.”

“Best southern cooking in Tuscaloosa and the best price anywhere. Simple and genuine. Don't expect anything fancy but it will deliver on taste.”

“Nice place. Has plenty of room. You do not hit someone when you slide your chair back to get up. Service was quick and friendly. We received drinks while still giving our order. The food was good and hot. The fries are the shoe-string style, not my favorite, but they were cooked perfectly. The burger and chicken club were delicious. This was my first visit but I will be back when in Tuscaloosa.”

“I LOVE this Chinese buffet, it is my favorite in this area. There is always a great selection and varsity of food and it always tastes excellent. HOWEVER, the last time we were in, I asked if they would be open for Thanksgiving and they told us "Yes". So here on Thanksgiving, we go there and they are closed. We ended up somewhere else that was less than satisfactory.”

“Updating my review and I’m still giving them 5 stars because it’s my fave/best pizza place in town BUT there’s just one thing.. the website doesn’t always match the product they have meaning if the website offers a deep dish and you order it you will soon find out that they no longer have deep dish or there may be a deal in there that they’ve never heard of. I’m not sure why this is a thing but if you order from HH just keep in this in mind ????”

“Customer service needs IMPROVEMENT!..I can tell/hope the cashier inside(Nivea) was new and needs more training. The drive-thru was backed up, I was the only customer inside and still had to wait forever for my order. I noticed the health score was 88 after I got my order, I wanted to give it back.”

“The food is always great! I only knocked a star because the waiters are not equal in service. We always have the same waiter but I notice another always going above and beyond. For Lunar New Year and Valentine's day, other tables got a little free dessert or a Lunar New Year packet. We just get the check.”

“This is a great Wendy's location. What sets it apart is the wonderful employees. Every time I've been here recently, they have been sincerely friendly, pleasant, and happy. That is all too rare in fast food! This location must have good management.”
