“Delicate har gow and meaty siu mai are very good; I enjoyed the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leave. The baked char siu bao meat was a tad too sweet for me but I enjoyed the steamed combo bun.”

“We had lunch in this cafe last weekend because we visited a relative near the place. The ambiance, services, and servers were the best! The food came on time and freshly cooked. The servers wore their smiles all the time and very friendly. I tried their Vegan Hummus and Avocado Bagel and it was very sumptuous!”

“I had an amazing first experience at Buckwild/Kitava in Oakland! After frequenting Kitava's original location in SF, I already knew the food was going to be amazing. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. It was my birthday so I went a little hard on the menu items-we tried the loaded fries, chicken nuggets, Brussels sprouts, and the fish and chips. Shared with my SO, this was a perfect accompaniment to the beer of Buck Wild. We ended up tasting all of the beers plus the guest taps. To get the negative out of the way first, I wasn't a big fan of the guest taps! Now on to the good stuff, that would be ALL of Buck Wild beers. The server even fulfilled my request for the tasting notes on the beer which I really appreciated (I'm from wine country, what can I say)! Each beer had amazing distinct flavor notes which I really appreciated. My "regular" beer drinking boyfriend said they weren't just good gluten free beers, they were good beers. He's never said this about any other GF beer. As a ten year celiac I can say these are the best gluten free beers I've ever tried. Typically GF beers can read sweet and one note, which was absolutely not the case at Buck Wild. I cannot wait to return to this location. I highly recommend this place whether or not you're gluten free. Thank you Kitava for a great experience, I can't wait until y'all have your own growlers so I can take home the 002 IPA and the Belgian beer!”

“Best taqueria in downtown Oakland! Complimentary chips & salsa w/ your order (in my experience). Huge burritos! Plant bowls! Fried plantains! Very affordable. Try the queso-tacos de birria. Google please make this place more searchable and put it on the map and under searches for tacos! ??”

“Fresh and fabulous! The Shrimp Banh Mi was superb. Bread with a crisp crust yet soft interior. Shrimp tasty and meaty. So fresh! The Beef Spring Rolls were excellent. Great flavor. Ready on time and nicely packaged. I chose pickup. The side entrance at Nikko's is easy to find.”

“Finally a delicious Thai restaurant in Oakland! This is the first Thai restaurant in the Bay Area where I can’t wait to try again. Most Thai food is just fine, you know, the standard Thai curries and Pad Thais. Not this place! I highly recommend the Kao Soi. The chicken was so tender and not dry at all!”

“Overall nice place to get coffee to go or stay - would be 5 stars if they put in more tables. Barely enough seats for shop its size. Staff is friendly. Best thing is that it's located next door to probably the best French style bakery - La Farine, within a 15 minutes drive radius. So you can grab a great croissant or morning bun or other baked goodies and enjoy with your coffee ;)”

“They have the BEST roasted pork buns I have EVER had in my life!!!! I don’t even want to eat them anywhere else!!!! I drove by a few weeks ago when a lot of Oakland was boarded up. I was so bummed to be in town and not get any pork buns. Oh well, I will be back in the fall. If you are lucky enough to be in the East Bay, you need to taste their food!!!”

“Want a tasty economical meal? Try Yung Kee restaurant in Oakland Chinatown. You can order a steaming bowl of won ton and add any side dish such as barbecue pork, roast duck, soy sauce chicken, large prawns, or simply bok choy (Chinese greens). Or you can order a bowl of rice porridge and add any of the previous side dishes, or for the more adventurous souls, you can add beef tendons or tripe to the porridge.”

“Incredibly delicious, well made vegan food cooked perfectly and priced reasonably. Everything is made from scratch (not obvious store bought items, of course), and it shows in the flavor. The sliders (Beyond) with cheese and cole slaw are, perhaps, the best I've had. The seasoned fries are excellent. I can hardly wait to go again!”

“Foods are all good. Beef rice noodle with too much meat. Congee is delicious. I saw how they make the thin rice sheet to wrap the fried stick – youtiao and ordered one: the sheet is great but fried stick is kind of hard. Service is affable. When I tried to get hot water for my ever-presence tea bottle and couldn’t, she said “oh you don’t know” and went on to show me.”
