Riverwalk Golf Club

Address: 1150 Fashion Valley Rd, San Diego, CA 92108, USA

Restaurant

“Nice course with a fun layout. Lots of danger/opportunity. You have the option to, go for greens or play to a number for position. I really liked the suspension bridges across the water and the 100 yard forced carry on the first tee makes you lock into golf mode quick. I thought the course was in great shape. I will be back on my next trip I had a great round and loved the walk. If I have just one tiny critique it’s they, need to change the signage and yardage book. They were a 27 hole facility and sold one of the routes to a developer. The yardage book was a little confusing because the “Friar” course doesn’t exist anymore. Course plays great as a straight up 18 and you don’t have overly weird routing because 9 holes are gone.”

The Remy

Address: 2445 Hotel Circle Place, San Diego, CA 92108, USA

Restaurant

“Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and exploding with flavor. I came as a party of 3 so we each ordered a different appetizer and main dish to try out the menu. The waitress was really nice and gave us some excellent suggestions. For our appetizers we started off with the artichokes, prawns, and beef tartare bone marrow. The artichokes are lightly fried and come on a bed of almond / pumpkin seed romesco. They were easy to cut with a fork and tasted fantastic. The prawns not pictured because we ate them too quickly came out on a hot skillet of garlic butter. It had a nicely toasted mini loaf of bread which was perfect for dipping in the sherry garlic butter sauce. The whole cooked garlic bulb in the center of the dish was a nice treat to dig into. The beef tartare bone marrow came out on 2 separate dishes and blew our minds with how good they were. The waitress offered to prepare it for us but we preferred to do it ourselves. Spreading the tartare on the toasted bread it comes with then digging out the bone marrow and placing it on top is quite fun. All the appetizers where great but the bone marrow was our favorite. For our main dishes we ordered the scallops, halibut, and Filet. The scallops had a nice golden sear to them & sat on top of a purée. Garnished with some mushrooms to balance it all out. The halibut crust will blow your mind. We couldn’t get enough of the polenta and corn that it came with. I ordered the filet medium rare. It was tender and a hearty 8 oz. It came ontop of mashed potatoes carrots and broccoli. The carrots really stood out for how well they were sautéed. We were pretty full but couldn’t pass up at least one desert so we opted for the cherry cheesecake (actually in the shape of a cherry). It was soo soft and really hit the spot.”

The Shed Kitchen

Address: 1312 Morena Blvd, San Diego, CA 92110, USA

“Shed is great, the chef here has unique takes which all work. Located attached to the bar and with a patio so you have your drink options while you eat!”

White Rice Morena

Address: 5299 Linda Vista Rd B, San Diego, CA 92110, USA

Restaurant

“Our meals were fantastic and both of the dishes were seasoned perfectly, and well spiced. The sisilog pork belly was tossed in a delicious aïoli, and the longanisa sausage was absolutely perfect, and what I’ve been craving for years. The Ube rolls were good. We are going to definitely go back and try their entire menu because the staff was phenomenal and I’m really looking forward to exploring what else they have to offer!”

Molly's

Address: 3770 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Restaurant

“Last minute decision to come here because we needed a brunch please which had some good vegetarian options and also good aesthetic. Finding parking on a Saturday afternoon was hard but the place was lovely. Really like the aesthetic - both upstairs and downstairs. Food was delicious as well. Only downside is that the portion size seemed quite small on some dishes. Good amount of portion for the drinks though. Turkey Sandwich 5/5 Love the abundance of Turkey inside! So so good. Bacon was crunchy - Definitely a good thing. All the flavors went really well together. Just needed a bit of hot sauce and then it was perfect! Side of Cauliflower 4/5 - There was barely any cauliflower in here so this was quite to disappointment. Maybe like 4 small florets, and a bunch of quinoa and chickpea mix. Flavor was okay - nothing special. Egg White Frittata 4/5 - quite cheesy and liked how much vegetable there was in there. But this was actually quite small in size (not worth the money I would say). Also needed hot sauce to get that extra kick of flavor. Roasted Sweet Potato Side 5/5 - This was really nice. Nice char on the sweet potatoes and flavor was good as well. Vegetable Wrap 5/5 - friend ordered this and he said he really liked it. Good and satisfying for a lunch meal. Guava Mojito - 5/5 - really delicious and refreshing. Husband and friend both got one each and like them.”

Gabriella's New York City Pizza

Address: 6784 El Cajon Blvd J, San Diego, CA 92115, USA

Restaurant

“This place was just Perfect. From asking the employees, they opened 4 months ago or so, which explains the lack of a sign leading to the place or decoration in the physical restaurant. From going into the place, it was extremely clean (but empty with no decor, tables/chairs) I ordered through postmates and the pizza was ready when I got there, the employee showed me the pizza by opening the box, a visual inspection was good, and it looked very good and classic. I took the pizza home and with the included parmesan cheese and red pepper, it was absolutely stunning. Their sauce was very Italian, their cheese and dough very traditional and fresh. Presentation was an absolute plus. The staff was also extremely friendly even if the place is located by the trolley station and is full of homeless people (which they can't control). I think this will be my To go place from now on. Many other reviews stated a few unlikings but it was maybe because they were still trying to figure out. I encourage you to go in and find out for yourself!”

SDSU Faculty Staff Club

Address: Campanile Mall, San Diego, CA 92182, USA

“SDSU's version is a reasonable faculty dining room with decent food. Relaxed, and not stuffy like the UCSD version, but not as good as the USD faculty club.”

“Very friendly staff! Amazing food. Goes above and beyond every time I have been there. Check this place out!!”

Bambinos Pizza Deli 3 (Federal Blvd)

Address: 6230 Federal Blvd, San Diego, CA 92114, USA

Restaurant

“Diamond in the rough! My girlfriend and I were feeling lazy during the recent storm and really wanted some good pizza. Domino’s had been a bust lately and little Caesar just wasn’t fitting the bill. We are SO glad we tried Bambino’s Pizza! The pizza was so good and the price was fair. We ended up getting a large carry out and some wings. The sauce is amazing and you can taste the zest that the other big pizza chains are missing. We will absolutely be coming back for more. Only word of advice is come with another person because parking is non existent. Literally no parking lot to be seen. The ones next door belong to another business and a tow yard. There’s like 2 spaces on the street for a quick pick up however.”

Sinjeon Food Sys SD 신전 떡볶이

Address: 4233 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, USA

Restaurant

“Sinjeon sells korean street food such as Topokki (spicy rice cake in red sauce) and fried fish cake. The Topokki has really good texture, sauce is delicious. Add mozzarella cheese as topping for extra texture and flavor. The friend fish cakes and other fried items are tasty too. Nice crisy but thin batter. For now Sinjeon food is collocated inside Convoy Tofu House, so supposedly you can order Tofu stews on the same table as well.”

Shancheng Lameizi Hot Pot

Address: 4225 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, USA

Restaurant

“Tried this place during our road trip to San Diego. Not the best I’ve had. Not sure if this was the only option around. Ingredients are not fresh enough and with low quality. Broth was alright, something you could make at home tho. Portion of the food was okay. I like how they serve various snacks at the sauce bar. Overall this is a place to satisfy cravings. Nothing too disappointing.”

Matoi

Address: 4212 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, USA

Restaurant

“Such a wonderful meal and experience - the food was exceptional. Only bar seating - 3 parties with 11 people total. All the sashimi and nigiri were prepared by TJ right in front of us. He never left the area the whole time! TJ’s insight and honesty about his experiences were very educational (and hilarious) and one of the highlights of the night. I’ve had omakases where the chef didnt speak more than a few words to describe the food. Be prepared though we sat for the 7:30 seating, didn’t start eating until about 8 and then finished around 10:30. Definitely get the hand roll add on if you have room! We were all full just with the base omakase but squeezed in a handroll!”

Eugenia Tacos De Canasta

Restaurant

Shell

“Went through this gas station very late storefront was closed looks like there's a lot of road construction or some type of construction going on in the gas station lots of cone and construction fences and cones all over the gas station but very clean and neat station pay-at-the-pump price is very expensive”

Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai - San Diego (Kearny Mesa)

Address: 7951 Othello Ave suite 103, San Diego, CA 92111, USA

Restaurant

“I really enjoyed this Ramen shop! The ramen has a lighter broth, homemade noodles that are also light, the egg was cooked perfectly and lightly marinated, the pork was delicious, and the mema was delicious (I ordered extra). The Gyoza was full of flavor. Family friendly place with booths available. Walked in and great service! Highly recommend this shop if you prefer lighter broth/noodle ramen!”

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill - San Diego, CA

Address: 7951 Othello Ave Suite 104, San Diego, CA 92111, USA

“Omgggggg everything on my plate was AMAZING! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The meat was so tender and delicious. The pita bread was perfectly warm and fluffy. The salad crisp with a group of wonderful flavors. The fries… just look at them… my goodness they were amazing. My favorite? The ice cream, not bought.. but made in house. I LOVE THE ICE CREAM 🤤”

Elixir Espresso Bar

Address: 1753 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“Elixir is for the diehard espresso drinker. Their proprietary coffee, Screaming Goat, is one of the best that San Diego has to offer and I've tried them all. My kids enjoy the crepes and pastries here as well. Amazing ambiance with beautiful decor. This cafe is a must in Pacific Beach or La Jolla.”

Mission + Garnet Food Hall

Address: 4505 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Restaurant

“It was... fine? The wide selection of food is great, but there was no one behind most of the counters. We ordered online as all the QR codes suggested, but the wait was long, and there was no notice as to progress on the order. It took longer than it felt it should (no one else seemed to be in line) and once it came it was a bit overcooked. I really wanted to like it, the concept is great, but it just didn't live up.”

Spitfire Tacos - Mission + Garnet

Address: 4505 Mission Blvd Suite E, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Restaurant

“Got the Korean pork belly burrito and the truffle steak burrito, they were each unique and pretty good. Both had tater tots in them. Id recommend the Korean pork belly over the truffle steak.”

Earlybird Breakfast Burritos - Mission + Garnet

Address: 4505 Mission Blvd Suite D, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Restaurant

“If you’re looking for a solid breakfast burrito in a pinch (take-out or Uber), this place is my go-to. I personally order the Eat like a Bird burrito, because it’s veggies & potatoes but with all the sauces. Personally, I think the other options may be a bit too heavy for me, but if it’s your vibe, definitely go for it. As I mentioned above, solid choice for breakfast burritos especially if you don’t feel like cooking or dining in aka lazy weekend mornings!”

Head Lettuce - Mission + Garnet

Address: 4505 Mission Blvd Suite A, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Restaurant

“Head lettuce has some seriously delicious bowls. The ingredients feel fresh and the flavors are good. There’s also great customer service, the lady making the bowls is always so kind. Recommend the burrito or jerk chicken bowl! It’s one of my new favorite food spots in pb.”

Checkered Churros at Mission + Garnet

Address: 4505 Mission Blvd Suite B, San Diego, CA 92109, USA

Restaurant

“This is okay. I don't think I would be back but glad I tried it. I ordered the Horchata Crema and my friend got the Campfire S'mores. We both thought that they were pretty sweet. I was expecting a light fluffy center and the outside a little crispy but that was not the case. The waffle is very dense and heavy. This is not what I was expecting at all from a churro/waffle for it to be so dense. Great concept but I can't get over how dense it was, a lighter batter to make it fluffy I think would make it much better.”
