“I love this blue barn!! I had my first blue barn experience at chestnut a few years back and since moving into Cole valley I am so grateful to have a tasty healthy simple grab and go food option. I did not catch her name but the blonde girl who works at the cashier is so incredibly warm sweet and attentive. Each time I've been there she has put so much extra care and attention to my order and I am so appreciative of it because sometimes I am in a huge rush or in a mood because I haven't eaten. There is so much seating and the space is gorgeous. I'm so excited to see how blue barn does in this neighborhood.”

“Great local, no-frills Italian spot. The food is very fresh and flavorful and the owners and employees clearly put a lot of care into their work. My partner can’t eat gluten, and they had gluten-free penne or spaghetti available for her. I should also mention that the host is incredibly nice. We forgot both our box of leftovers and umbrellas, and he ran down the street to catch us with them in hand. Highly recommend coming here, and love having this as an option in the neighborhood!”

“Great new neighborhood restaurant filling the hole left behind by the closing of the Broken Record. Walking in was a little jarring, while the layout was familiar the place has been transformed. It has the bar in the front still but is a full on restaurant with seating in the front and back. Once we got our bearings straight we were able to enjoy the tasteful decorations and beautiful furnishings. The wait staff were friendly and the drinks and food came out quickly. To our delight the food was amazing. We shared a mouthwatering buttermilk marinated chicken with brussels sprouts and a delicious radicchio salad. The food was seasoned perfectly and the vegetables were not tortured with an overdone sauce. What a great new addition to the Excelsior neighborhood!”

The wood furnitures, white-themed interior design, and beautifully designed food are all so on point & aesthetically pleasing. 🦩 The vibe was infectious and lid up my mood when I walk pass by it every time. “Had a show at the Masonic and decided to get dinner nearby and I'm happy I did! Their tacos were AMAZING! One of the best tacos I've had in the city. It was taco Tuesday so some of the tacos were 2 for $7.25. I got carnitas and al pastor tacos for the taco Tuesday deal and also a cochinita pibil taco which wasn't part of the deal. All of them were amazing! The carnitas was so good and had delicious crispy bits. The al pastor was so flavorful. And the cochinita pibil was my favorite! All on handmade tortillas, it was delicious. It's a pretty small restaurant with two tables of 4 and a counter that seats 4. The prices are pretty affordable and the food is so good. It's worth a visit, just would recommend. Definitely will be coming back here to try more things on the menu!”

“Lapisara - this was our first visit. Our server was fantastic. Once she learned we had visited, she was excited. We spoke a bit of travels. The restaurant is cozy, it's cute, it's comfortable even for this area.. We lucked up and found parking. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOU VALUES ANYWHERE IN THE Tenderloin. We were seated immediately.. Our food arrived at the table efficiently. The presentation was beautiful 😍. There were 2 small things my mom noticed. Her flatware was extremely dirty. Her creamer had green and white paper floating inside the small kettle. We asked if mom wanted to leave. We stayed. We all enjoyed our meals. The salads were fantastic and came with each breakfast. The waffles were perfect. The omelet was delicious. We all could taste the basil. The medley of potatoes was whimsical. The beverages were fun as well. Yes we would return if ever in the area.”

“Decided to go here for dinner with some friends and we loved how cute this place was. We came around 7pm on a friday and we were seated immediately. Some reviews mentioned it can get crowded during peak times. They also stay open late which is convenient. It was a bit difficult getting servers’ attention and some items were pricey for the portion, but everything tasted great and we loved the vibe here. We ordered the skewer sampler, kimchi remix, and garlic noodles with chicken. The sampler was great to try a variety of skewers and split it amongst the 3 of us. The kimchi remix was pretty good with the fluffy egg on top. I really liked the garlic noodles and it came with big chunks of chicken. We also got the yogurt soju cocktail and checked in for the free sapporo beer. The soju cocktail came in a little tea kettle and was a little strong but was still good with the meal. We also ordered the matcha cheesecake but it was such a small slice, we were a little disappointed but the flavor was really rich and had a strong matcha flavor. They also had a wall with little snacks like rice crackers, skittles, mints. Overall, i would go again for drinks. It can get pricey depending on what you get though.”

“Cute place with character, food can improve. Once you know the entry is inside the hotel, you'll find the place easily. The hotel door was locked at 8pm on a weekday, and someone from the hotel staff answered the bell and directed us to the elevator. Service was impressive, the restaurant was cozy and well dimmed, and decorations well chosen. We were seated promptly (had a reservation) and were a bit rushed to make our food selection. Our server told us the kitchen will be closing soon but they admitted a few other tables after making that point to us. Soup and salad were really good, wine appeasing and bread warm and delicious. The main courses were very average, rabbit was dry (even considering that it is on the dryer side), steak semi ok and salmon average. The wine sauce they used in some of the dishes was very good. We may visit again just for the ambience and give the food one more chance.”

“Great place for sausages and beer! We ordered the Sausage Sampler ($32) served with house made pickled veggies. Also ordered the "All Day" sandwich. The maple ginger sausage in the All Day was our favorite from the sampler too. After finishing it all we were pretty full but had just enough room to split 2 desserts, 3 ways.. the bread pudding was good, caramel and bananas. The deep fried cookie dough and ice cream was lovely. Especially enjoyed the sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt... The perfect note to end on.”
