“This destination is one of our favorite mountain drives! Not only because it's so beautiful to drive Poudre Canyon but also it's fun and delicious to have a meal here. I'd love to know more about the chef here, but whoever it is certainly knows food. Haven't had a bad or mediocre meal there yet. Onion rings are THE BEST around! Fish taco wrap melts in mouth. Hubby says the Reuben is one of the best. We've really enjoyed the outdoor eating area especially with the addition of "bubbles" in which to eat--to stay safe during Covid AND to keep cozy in the weather. However, the dining area inside with floor to ceiling glass overlooking the Poudre River is pretty cool, too. We hear reservations are a must in the evening--so far we've lucked out by going mid afternoon without one. Oh, and Lunch With Santa was a hit with our grandchildren! Those reservations are a total sell out so be advised.”

“My family and I needed to eat. The tavern war only place pen on a Monday night. It was trivia night, so it was packed inside. They have avtv setup with Mario kart for the kids. Which was great. The menu isn't 3 pages long, which is helpful. The chicken fried steak was awesome. Their beer selection is great too. Highly recommend this place.”

Beer was super cold and had some great micros on tap as well. 2 burgers 4 beers out the door with 20%+ tip for 40 some bucks!! In today's day in age....that is usually the bill for person.”

“Great Experience! We ordered meals to go last night. I ordered the tacos and my husband had the two meat meal. I was familiar with the location but had never been inside since it was converted into a restaurant. As I walked in I was greeted in a friendly manner by one person, and another directed me to where to pick up my online order. Meanwhile I was wishing that we had planned to eat in since it seemed like a nice place to hang out and have a beer! The sun was shining in the windows, there was a guitarist and the place was quite full. Even the young woman helping with the pickup orders was great. We got our food home and it was also ...great! Husband really enjoyed the smoked brisket. He said the slaw and potato salad were also very good. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but I think well worth it to have quality food . These people have it together!”

“Swung by for lunch today. Tried the taco plate and had one of them in their waiver required "Blazing" spice. Very hot and not for the faint hearted. I survived and moved on to my other taco which was donned with "extra hot" spice. Definitely a couple notches cooler than the first. Both were very good. Tried Dave's fried jalapeno slices and they were spot on. The tenders themselves were pretty large and cooked well. Will certainly be back for more!”

“I've worked with Juli and Juan before, and I've eaten their food over the course of years and I've yet to have something I didn't like. It doesn't matter if it's a meal compromised entirely of things I don't like. I've learned over time to always try it if it's from them. The longstanding relationship with Juli and Juan has also gifted me with the knowledge of just how nice both of them are. I joke with my family and friends that they're the best people I know, and all around rays of sunshine. They are a delight to be around and absolutely phenomenal chefs, who never stop perfecting their craft. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.”

“We bought pulled pork a while back to make our own sandwiches, and it was delicious. Yesterday I tried the Signature sandwich with potato salad and coleslaw sides. The sandwich was AWESOME. I also loved the potato salad which tasted like our homemade without the work! I'm on the fence with the coleslaw. Parking is a bit of a challenge the first time you go there, as it looks like there are no parking spots in the area behind the building, where apartment residents park. The main factor that changes by locations and staff is consistently the spiciness. With many sets of staff and major staff overhauls every semester, the reviews of this place are very, very volatile. However, it will still hover at 4 or above stars when the focus is the food, as it is a part of CSU and holds its standards of food quality. -Don't go during the first 3 weeks of the semester and you're fine, peak line is at 11-1”
