“I cannot describe how good the food is.. the seasoning, the presentation, the taste, and aah the sauce are so on point. The meat was tender, the chicken well cooked, and the rice delicately made and served. The ambiance of the place and the choice of background music make the experience whole. The staff was great, I talked to the chef and he was so welcoming. I think I just found my new favorite restaurant in DC!”

“Drinks are awesome, pricey even when we opt to take out the alcohol from the daiquiri. They changed the desert menu but did not update the paper menu given. But the waitress was super nice in letting us know. I have the coconut crunch cake and cheesecake, small deconstructed version but delicious. Great place to hang out. Wonderful ambience. But pricey for a casual hang out.”

“By far the best place for breakfast in the area. The taste, amount and the presentation is exceptional! I have been coming here for a week now and can't get enough of it. I tried 3 to 4 egg-based meals and all were delicious. The lady works there takes the experience to a whole different level. Very lovely and smiley. Not to mention the beautifully and nicely decorated seating area. You can choose to sit outside and enjoy the breeze or inside. They have a reading spot too. If you are in DC. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS IT!!!.”

“Amazing food, big portions, and friendly owners / staff. The lamb has so much flavor and is tender. Chicken was delicious and cooked to perfection.”

“Am currently traveling and wanted Indian food (unavailable where I’m from). Had a lovely dinner. The prices are reasonable. The portions are great. I loved everything and would love to come back on future trips.”

“RUN, don’t walk to this hip new restaurant in DC. Chef Snyder finally had his own brick and mortar and has an amazing seasonal menu. 10 plates, each transporting you to different parts of the world—Japan, Georgia, India, and beyond. The service was impeccable and staff is so kind. Everything is eaten with your hands so no need for cutlery. Each dish was prepared perfectly and the chef, himself, comes to your table with each plate to explain his inspiration. This had to be one of the best meals I’ve had in DC. Even the drink pairings were wonderful. The space is small but artful. This is truly a hidden gem and a worthy experience. Once you see the kitchen at the end of the meal, you’ll be even more blown away! Will definitely come back to try next season’s offerings.”

“Very Beautiful Restaurant/lounge, chill and nice atmosphere. I love the wall art and ceramic floors, especially lighting system. They have a long marble bar which accommodate many people. Their food is amazing. Definitely my favorite place to be!”

“The food is tasty. We ordered both the lamb & the chicken to try them both to figure out which 1 we liked the best. It still doesn't compare to the Halal food I've had on a food truck 2 hours away in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, however, based on the numerous places that I've eaten at in DC, it is by far the best that I've had. I fully recommend this Halal eatery. This place is near home too! I will be frequently visiting. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars!”

“We all thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant!! The staff was so friendly and and hospitable. I really appreciated the pictures of food with prices that were printed on the walls by the register. It is a cozy place. Outside seating is available with sanitizer and bug spray! on the tables. Indoor seating is limited with lovely seating options. Takeout is available as well. Sitting outside was very relaxing. The food arrived quickly and hot. It was very flavorful and tasty and the portions were great! I was surprised to have a nice portion of bacon!! I wasn't sure about the light sprinkling of cayenne on my plate as I don't like spice, but it accented the taste of the food well, and cayenne is good for you! I would definitely return.”

“The best raw vegan and juice bar in the dmv. I’ve never tasted raw vegan food like this before. It’s such a treat to have food of this quality and taste when you’re following a raw diet. The fresh pressed juice is my favorite part. You will not find fresh coconut and cane juice anywhere else locally. I’ve only had this in parts of Florida/ South America and raw food festivals. I highly recommend trying this place out if you’re vegan, veg- curious or raw-curious. They sell delicious fresh fruit and vegan snacks. I highly recommend the coconut crab wrap, curried cabbage and buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower is my favorite. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the various products in house!!”

“What a cool Starbucks! Obviously, amazing location at the wharf but on top of that it has unique seating and a cool vibe. There’s a stage (for live music, I presume?) and lots of comfortable seating indoors and tons of outdoor seating as well. Will definitely be back to this one!”

“I got invited for their opening night and had an overall pleasant experience. The accommodation to my order were listen to and they took care to make sure I was doing well. The food was amazing. I had to travel back to Maryland for work and couldn’t eat it fresh. An hour of traveling later the food still smell good and was still savory. I definitely will be coming back to try it again. I highly recommend this spot.”

“Okay - you need to go here. Came by to check out the new Jamaican/sierra Leone restaurant on H. We were greeted by none other than chef Mosada and his borther Chef Milton. They gave us a culinary tour through all the dishes of Sierra Leone and Jamaica. The food was incredible. It's clear this family knows what they are doing in the kitchen. While talking they were cooking up fresh stews and curries so customers would only get the best. There's indoor and outdoor seating. You can get here and park or take the streetcar to h and 5th. Try the goat curry - you won't be disappointed.”

“What a delightful restaurant. We went there the first day they opened and were impressed by the service, food, and wine. They do a seasonal tasting menu with optional wine pairings - either Virginia wines or global wines. The real stand out for us on the tasting menu was the beef bourguignon, which had a rich, complex flavor and little sweet carrots to balance it out. But everything was good (great, even). I think I preferred the Virginia wine tasting menu over the global one only because it was fun to learn about wines relatively close to DC. My only complaints were that one dish was left off of our tasting menu without anyone mentioning it to us and service was a bit slow - we were there for about 2.5 hours for dinner (which is fine - I just wish the food had come out faster). But considering it was their very first day neither of those things are a big deal. My other complaint, probably not a complaint for most, is that I would have been happier with one less glass of wine. For me it was so much wine that I couldn't finish all of the tasting glasses. So if you do the pairing prepare to not drive home! Overall we loved this restaurant and think it's a great addition to H street.”

“I ordered a pastrami bagel. I was disappointed to say the least. I am a frequent visitor of CYM so I had high expectations. Everything on the bagel was good minus the pastrami. I had to take it off and it the rest. It was gritty and did not taste well. I would return and try something else.”

“Definitely check out this new pizza shop/cocktail bar tucked away off of H street. The ambience is the first thing you're going to notice: a late 1950s/early 1960s cocktail vibe - sort of like you may see Don Draper sitting at the bar. Pizza is great - they do both a sort of Sicilian/grandma style square pizza and a classic new yorkish style. Pizzas are great - the dough is interesting and worth a try. I think the bar is actually the underrated part of the whole spot. It's a really cool bar - and it stays open fairly late. Check this place out.”

“I got the Sesame chicken and the General Tso's chicken and they were both delicious and fresh! This is the first Chinese spot where the General Tso's chicken was actually spicy, so thank god this place exists! The staff are also super kind. Can't recommend this spot highly enough!”

“Been waiting a long time for burgers this good! Puebla burger was so good, I'm glad I made it a double. Sauces were some of the best I've had, HEB and tomato relish undersell that there's actual tomato in it. Fries were crispy, excellent with the sauces. New staple for Hill East!”

“On a hill overlooking the city skyline is the second standalone Starbucks East of the River and it’s a beauty! The design is very slick and looks like it belongs in Seattle. The inside is spacious, clean and with plenty of tables and chairs. The staff are friendly and they offer a full coffee menu. There’s even an outside patio with seats. Also, this is the city’s first drive-thru coffee shop! Starbucks for the win!”
