“The place was fairly busy for a Tuesday, so my anticipation was high for a good experience. The waitstaff seemed to be a bit unorganized and not very warm. The waitress came to take our order but since we had not ordered here previously, we asked for another minute. We tried to flag the waitress down a couple of times to no avail, it took about 15+mins to finally place the order. The food was ok. I ordered eggs over medium, they were not. The pork sausage was very garlicky (didn’t like) but that’s a personal preference as my friend enjoyed them. The pancake was filling and delicious. I would suggest investing a little money in new menus that aren’t stained and crinkled. Also, perhaps ask your waitstaff to smile and at least pretend to like working there.”

“Service was spectacular. Our server was running like crazy but still took the time to check in and gave us great input on the menu items. The portion sizes are gracious. 1/2 lb crab and 1/2 shrimp was more than enough for 2 people. Also ordered eggdrop soup which was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly, I will say I ordered a medium spice level and tasted no heat/spice other than garlic butter. I was originally going to order garlic old bay flavor but was advised spices are heavy handed. I’d recommend getting a higher spice level if you like spice! Also would like to see more drink options, but for just opening there is a reasonably diverse selection. Great place for a family dinner, lots of fun under the sea decorations !! We will definitely be back!”

“Our first time for dinner, we had heard about Saturday night prime rib dinner. There aren't enough words to describe the meal. First it's advertised as 16oz cut of prime rib.... I would guess it's more like 20oz, it is accompanied by 3 cheese & garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies , grilled bread and usual horseradish & au jus . The meat is seasoned perfectly and so tender if you look at it it falls apart. No kidding !! Make sure you go hungry. We have been there for lunch too, great sandwiches and burgers. “If you are looking for great wood fired pizza, this is your spot! The interior is very thoughtfully put together. We had a Cesar salad and it was one of the best I’ve had. I know that sounds weird because it’s just a salad but my partner and I were impressed. We shared a Charlo pizza and the flavor was incredible. The crust was fluffy and expertly made. I spent over ten years working in different pizza establishments around the area. Point being, they have one of the best in the area hands down!”

“The tasting menu is a formal event where Chef Alex serves a predetermined menu of several courses and dessert for a set price of $130 (before tax and tip). Drinks were not included, but wine and beer were available for purchase. The courses were interesting and beautifully presented. The dinner lasted 3 hours. With each course, Alex explained what he had prepared and how each dish was cooked. The appetizers were fabulous. Everyone at our table loved the scallops, goat cheese soufflé, and cherry tomato soup. Our opinions became mixed with the third course. The salmon cake was a little dry for a few of us, and the meat dishes were cold when they were served. The plates were not warmed. For this type of event and the price, I would have expected the food to be delivered hot. Both the duck and lamb in addition to being cold were tough but presented well. For this event, complete strangers will be seated together. Luckily for us, our tablemates were interesting and entertaining. Overall, I enjoyed the event and service was excellent, but going forward, I'd rather spend the money on a romantic dinner with only my husband at a high-end restaurant ordering just a few dishes.”

“This review is strictly on their Wednesday night $5 Beer+ Burger Basket. A beer and burger w/fries for $5 is such a great deal I had to try it out. The Getaway is a sports bar and grill and that’s exactly what you get when you walk in. Plenty of TVs with sports playing, pool tables, dart boards, and friendly regulars (atmosphere 4⭐️). Our service was excellent, they had 3 servers working the floor and at least 3 bartenders. They were super friendly, very attentive, and had all of our needs met throughout our meal (service 5⭐️). The price is of course going to be 5⭐️, it’s such a great deal, but besides that I ordered an additional drink before the meal and it too was well priced (and our server was very knowledgeable of what beers they had on tap at the time, which was refreshing) They also offer a list of signature drinks to try, and I surely will the next time I visit. Now the food… I went in not expecting much for $5, these days you don’t get much for $5, so my expectations were low. I was very pleasantly surprised! The burger was big! Well seasoned, cooked perfectly. For $5 it’s a plain hamburger (w/toppings), but you can add cheese, bacon, avocado, mushrooms for an additional charge (I added cheese to mine). It was delicious, seasoned, good char, Juicy not over cooked. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. They also came with a solid fry sauce and I asked for ranch on the side as well. I went with my vegetarian moms and they had no issue preparing her burger with all the fixings plus mushrooms and avocado with the burger on the side. She ordered the tots which we’re also crispy and well seasoned (another 5⭐️ for service). I will definitely be back for an inexpensive, delicious, and filling meal with great service.”
