“This is one of the best restaurants in the St Louis area. The pizza is a neighborhood legend that began nearly 40 years ago as Pop N Pizza and later known as Stingers and now Laylas. The new owner is also a legend. Craig and his team have breathed new life into the place, just as he did previously with the the KC and Bar 365. Apart from Pizza, they have a wide variety of bar and grill type fare and daily specials to keep it interesting. The Friday fish n chips is my particular favorite. Add to that comfortable seating in a family friendly dining room, an outdoor patio, and friendly welcoming staff, and you've got a destination well worth a detour.”

“Spouse and I went to Freddy's as an alternative to that place of the red-haired girl in the same shopping center that does not usually have indoor dining. Freddy's DID! Went there about 1:00 in the afternoon on a Tuesday in March - they were still getting the kinks worked out. Restaurant was full. Few seats but tables were clean. I got the Bacon & Cheese Double Steakburger, the spouse got a Patty Melt. We split an order of REAL Onion Rings (YUM!) as well as a regular Vanilla Concrete with Banana topping - spouse remarked that spouse could have had a large Concrete as a meal. Concrete was delivered first, as it was for other tables - kept us entertained while waiting for main meal. Because of crowd, expect to wait for your food.”

“My wife and I travel far and wide to taste the bubble teas of the entire St Louis area. We had been traveling all the way to Delmar Loop on the other side of Forest Park for Bubble Tea - NO MORE! We are traveling to Lebanon from now on for great Bubble Tea! They're new and expanding their drinks - I'm gonna try to get my favorite flavors on the menu ;) Bubble Tea aside, Miss J is a chef. Her Fried Rice was better than going to Hibachi, better than Shogun in Fairview Heights and better than Kyoto in Edwardsville. I'll be back a lot!”

“Great place to hang with friends during the COVID shutdowns. Tables are set up to seat 6 people and are separated from other tables and guests. The staff is extremely friendly and they always wear their masks. The heaters are super warm and the firepits seem to warm the whole area!”

“Had the Good Morning Skillet. The gravy was good. Not pastey or over salted. Potatoes were good. Hot , crispy and not greasey. Scrambled eggs were scrambled eggs. A little overcooked for me, but were good. The waitress very nice and friendly. Wife wanted a BLT, but that was on the lunch menu. So she got an egg sandwich minus the egg and cheese. So it was bacon on a bagel. Pretty close to a BLT. All in all good food and the place was clean.”

“My family loved Clara B's! We went for a birthday lunch for my grandma and found out while there and from reading a magazine article about the restaurant that the style inside is called "hipster grandma," so we chose the right spot for lunch with our hipster grandma. 👵😆 The food was INCREDIBLE! Probably the best I've ever eaten in Downtown Belleville. It's authentic southern cooking, the biscuits tasted exactly like my Texan mother-in-law's. I hope this place gets more press and is successful. The last several businesses in this location failed quickly. But I'm eager to see an already successful business and delicious menu thrive here in town. I had the minestrone with gnocchi and grilled cheese and plan on getting the turkey cranberry brie toasted sandwich next time. I plan on going back next week because I just know that sandwich will taste like Thanksgiving and it's making my mouth water just thinking about it. The other meal pictured is the loaded breakfast burrito.”

“I was so hungry I did not take a pic of my loaded baked potato before I dug into it. It was ginormous with all the buttery, cheesy, sour creamy goodness you could want. It was piping hot and delicious. Update: Have tried the potato skins with cheddar cheese, single gyro (lots of tender meat and soft pita), and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Fantastic!”

“Uncle Nick's Deli is in an old Subway building located right next to Denny's. I never see anyone in the parking lot and fear they aren't getting the business they need to stay open, which is unfortunate because their sandwiches are delicious! The deli is right off the highway, which would make you think it's a prime location. But it's actually a little difficult to access. I've seen the deli for a couple of years and didn't have a real interest in trying it out (only because I don't frequent delis). But then my daughter's boyfriend pointed it out the other day and said that they make the BEST italian sandwich in the world. So my husband and I went back the next day for lunch and ordered the italian and turkey bacon ranch club. You can request your sandwich be toasted (just like at Subway), which I highly recommend. When we finished lunch, we agreed that the sandwiches were better than Subway's, but not better than Penn Station's. However, you might spend a bit more if you go to Penn Station and you're supporting a small business here. I'll be back and will hopefully try their homemade potato salad.”

“My spouse and I sometimes go to Godfather's for lunch. Some pizzas are "in stock." Custom ones take about 5-7 minutes. They need to be fast because it is a travel stop. A variety of fountain soft drinks are available or one can go next door to Love's Travel Stop and buy a bottled drink.”
