“Food was good, the tortillas for the tacos were a little greasy but the asada, pollo asado, an pastor had really good flavor. They have large corn quesadillas that have lettuce an fresh cheese on them a different spin on a traditional flour quesadilla with justeat an melted cheese. We got the tinga one, it was very good. The service was good very patient an friendly, took awhile to get the order but I'm ok with waiting to get hot fresh food. The location isn't bad just a little chaotic with all the construction at that intersection.”

“Tried this place because I was craving a gyro. Read the raving reviews and wanted to try it. Glad we did! Food was delicious! Meal portion was plentiful. Service was great! People were kind and helpful. Prices are decent. The place is small, but worth it! Will definitely be back! My gyro pic with spicy potatoes 😋”

“Oh, my. Didn’t get to try much—they were sold out and had to cook fresh chicken (!). The chicken was fabulous. And, surprisingly, not salty. Perfectly beaded, seasoned and cooked. Pieces were mammoth. Mac and cheese was REAL, not boxed or with processed cheese. Heaven on a plate. I’m a Southern-raised girl and the cabbage was wonderful—no trendy crisp-tender goin’ on here. Can’t wait to try the fish and everything else.”

“First time coming here and I'll be back! A friend had her birthday here and food was ordered for the table, so I was able to try a few things - all very tasty! I don't drink, so I can't vouch for the taste, but all of the drinks or group ordered came out quickly and looked really good. Staff is friendly and attentive. Not a lot of parking, but it was nice out and we didn't mind the short walk.”

“I was a little hesitant to order here due to the condition of the truck but if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that you ALWAYS give these kinds of trucks a shot. This is where the food made with love & pride comes from. They put their soul into these dishes. The ladies inside were pleasant & happy to take my order. I stuck with a simple chicken burrito for fear that any other kind of meat might not be made to my liking. There was a small wait while they made this fresh & it was AMAZING. The chicken was seasoned & tender. The burrito was loaded with rice, beans, fresh lettuce, tomato & cheese. The sauces had a thicker creamy consistency I’m a huge fan of. This way you enjoy a little pour on each bite & it doesn’t run down inside the burrito. Very happy with the portions! I look forward to trying the pastor burrito in the future & next time I’ll bring cash to tip these ladies! (This was an unplanned visit while I waited for UPS to open.)”

“First time coming here after seeing an ad on social media. I drive by this place everyday on my way to work and didn't even know it was here! The ladies behind the counter had excellent customer service and explained what each drink type was since I had never been in before. I got the Mega tea, Mermaid Water, and it tastes SO GOOD. Here's a picture of before I shook it and after. I love the added sparkles. I will definitely be back in!”

“Des Moines area needed a local business that catered to authentic southern fried proteins. Hooray, one finally opened in March with some of the best catfish I’ve had in our surrounding area. The homemade strawberry shortcake is the real deal—simply delicious.”

“This is one of the best food trucks in the Des Moines area. It’s very rare to find a place in Iowa that sells cemitas (traditional tortas from Puebla, Mexico made out of sesame seed bread). The cemitas are packed with food. I recommend the milanesa one!! Their tacos are made of homemade tortillas. You only need one because they are ENORMOUS. Very few Mexican places have good horchata or aguas frescas because they are usually watered down with all the ice. I recommend the agua de melón and agua de horchata. This is all good quality food. They have other traditional dishes from Puebla. Everything is fresh, delicious, and with generous portions. The customer service is phenomenal. They treat you very well! They are approachable, friendly, and patient. It was my first time there and I had a lot of questions. They kindly answered them. They also have a great system. They have speakers and call out your name when your food is ready that way you don’t have to stand outside waiting, you can just wait in your car. We showed up at 10:45pm and they still had tons of people ordering food. When you see a lot of people ordering, it’s a good sign. I also love supporting this business because they started from the bottom. They used to only cater and sometimes sell at the bailes. They worked so hard to make this food truck a reality. They also support local non profits. They always give back to the community. Support local!”
