“Found out going to lunch on a Wednesday at Baker's Square is for the old crowd. Food and service were great but be prepared to feel like you have arrived at the lunch hour at the old folks home. I thought it would be like the weekend mornings but no. Quick and pleasant service. Reasonable prices. Lots of options on the menu, great location, plentiful parking. We enjoyed our dinner there. They offer a three item dinner which includes salad, half sandwich and a slice of pie. It’s a well balanced meal. Of course it was hard to pick what pie to eat.”

“Panera has gone down hill. There is no descriptions of any if the sandwiches on the menu board. The workers never seem to know what they are doing. Dirty tables everywhere. And the buzzer system is a joke. Part of the appeal of Panera was your name being called and being treated like you're at home. The vibe is not like that at all anymore. Food is still good but expensive for what you get. Probably wont be back for a while.”

Glad they tried to make it right but they failed the second time by not adding any chicken. I liked going to this location cause they followed the requests online but not sure if I should go back to this one. Only one that seemed to care was the person at the register. Person who made the second didn't even say anything or seem like they wanted to be there”

“This Perkins wasn’t bad. Service was good and food was okay. Not the best ever, but not bad either. Just your run of the mill Perkins. The cranberry orange muffin was delicious though! Please please please get the front squeaky door fixed. The sound of the clanging is still ringing in my ears. It made the meal nearly intolerable. I cringed every time someone came in or went out.”

I've tried pretty much all the varieties of kolaches here and the jalapeno sausage ones are probably my favorite. I don't care for spicy food and this is flavorful without being hot. Just stopped in and bought a variety for breakfast with friends! And service was super fast as well. I was in and out in only about 3 minutes once I figured out what I wanted.”

“I've been searching high and low for a really good frozen yogurt place since I arrived in Des Moines and was so glad that I found Menchie's! Now, the only flavor I ever get at any frozen yogurt place is always the Original Tart flavor and this place has the best by far (I once tried the cake batter flavor and that was delicious!). Menchie's has a lot of toppings that you can add to your yogurt, more so than other places. Usually I come here on the weekends and they are typically crowded, but I've never had to wait long. The staff is always very friendly and personable. I've never actually eaten here, I normally get my yogurt to go. The place is pretty small and they only have a handful of tables both inside and outside. But I still love coming here every weekend, keep it up Menchie's!”

“My favorite place to get the "old fashioned" donuts (the plain cake ones, no toppings). When I go its usually around 5:30 am and it's not crowded that early. I'm not a coffee connoisseur so can't comment except occasionally I'll get a coffee/mocha drink and I just tell them to make it sweet and it works for me.”
