“Best dining experience we have had in weeks! First, they are open this late in the season. Second, they had lobster when other places didn't. We came to Maine for the views and the seafood and this place has both. The food, cocktails and service were truly excellent!! I, for one, remember the places that feed AND treat me well so I'll definitely be making a return trip as well as recommending it to friends and family.”

“Even though we ate at Finback hours before they were to close for 2019, the food was outstanding. We enjoyed a Mediterranean salad with blackened haddock and a Finn Burger. Both meals were very good, with the meats cooked to perfection. Seasonings were excellent and the fries wonderfully crispy. We are looking forward to our next meal at Finback.”

“What an unexpected awesome meal and an awesome place! This is the perfect spot for a slap of old-fashioned Americana. There’s tons of memorabilia inside this once-converted church, complete with a vintage gas station, and a train that is set up across the top of the restaurant. The bathrooms are also full of great decor, from framed yearbook photos and magazine covers inside the stalls, so large dresses tacked to the door. This is the perfect place to get a nice juicy burger and some fries, but since I was in Maine, I still opted for the classic lobster roll with a cup of lobster bisque. It was delicious, and what I needed since it was pouring rain outside! Good comfort food in a great environment. Perfect for kids since it’s colorful and plenty to look at, and the music is playing so the noise they make shouldn’t bother other diners. I’m glad we chose this place- it was tucked in the back of the street, so if we didn’t know we were going there from looking online at reviews, I might have missed it since it’s set so far back. They were able to accommodate us immediately without reservations, which was ideal since we were standing out in the rain looking for a dinner place!”

“I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with this place! It's very big inside, but also very busy. Regardless, we got a seat quickly and had a friendly server. The food was amazing and the best fish and chips I've ever had. The breading was light and crispy and had a good flavor, while the fish was light and moist. The clam chowder was delicious!”

“Healthy and absolutely delicious food situated in a delightful, bright, modern space. Reasonable price for the quality of the food - it was prepared and served quickly. We'd come here all the time if we lived on the island!! Pictured is the Rainbow Salad and the Vegetable Coconut Curry bowl - literally bowls of health that taste insanely good. Especially love the hot curry bowl on a cool day... Highly recommend this place.”

“Great place! Lots of seating, but it felt a tiny bit cramped. Food was fantastic. Got the crab dip as a starter and I highly recommend. The seafood mac and cheese for my entree was fantastic - the scallops were cooked really well. Food came out timely and everyone had a good time!”

“Food is creative, tasty, and original. Service is good. Outdoor seating available, convenient to all parts of town. Would give it five stars but they stop serving dinner at 9pm while bar stays open past 1am.”

“I grew up in Maine my whole life. Friends call me a seafood expert. Now I moved out to Scottsdale, AZ and I can HONESTLY SAY: Siam Orchid has the BEST SUSHI & Customer Service in the COUNTRY! Every time I come back home I make a note to come during the summer to take a trip here to Bar Harbor so one of the places I come to is Siam Orchid for the best sushi and they never disappoint!”

“We had an amazing lunch here. I had an enormous steak salad, hubby had a steak sandwich. Both were delicious and huge. We mentioned it was our anniversary, and our server brought us a beautiful dessert! Really great food and the service was great! My only regret is that we didn't get back here before we had to leave!”

“Nice variety on the menu. We've tried many appetizers and main dishes. My wife enjoys the Perpendicular (drink). I have had fish, burgers, sandwiches and salads. We've been going to the Whale for over 8 years, have always been served by friendly people and been happy with our meals. Enjoy!”

“Restaurant has a nice aesthetic feeling. The food came out quick and smelled great. When you first see the food, you think that it is a very small amount. However, this proved to not be the case and we were filled up quickly. Great tasting food and a nice atmosphere combined for a great experience.”

“Amazing place right on the water. Watching the fishing boats catching the creatures you're eating for lunch is an amazing experience. Lunch was fantastic. We shared the, "Lobster Experience" and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the blueberry pie was, and I'm dead serious, the best piece of pie I have ever eaten. This is the epitome of what a tourist like me is looking for when eating a Maine lobster lunch.”

“The West Street Cafe is an excellent place to eat in Bar Harbor. It is right on the main street and across from the Harbor. If you are on a cruise, it is a short walk to this location. If you are visiting Acadia National Park, this is an excellent choice for a meal. The food is delicious. The offerings are traditional coastal choices, including lobster rolls and clam chowder. We ordered both and enjoyed them. The ambiance is casual and modern. Go here!”

“An amazing place. Young owner, the detail that was put into the meal was impressive. The bread was great, the fried Haddock was great, the tarter sauce was like none I've ever had. Oh and the fries were excellent as well. We'll have breakfast there tomorrow.”

“We ate here 24 years ago and came back in August. Same place - cute little diner. It was busy but we got a table right away. This place is known for their Maine wild blueberry muffins and pancakes. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes and he said they are just as he remembers them. Blueberries inside the pancakes, he said the way they should be. Very good pancakes. This is what they're known for. I ordered an omelet with breakfast potatoes. This was very good too. But the best part? They make gluten free blueberry muffins. I never expect restaurants to cater to diet restrictions, so I was beyond thrilled!!! This is a busy place and the servers are quick and efficient. They'll make a little small talk if they have time, but they are typically hustling. They are pleasant and can anticipate your needs.”

“Not open 24 hours. Town closes kitchens early but luckily this place had decent sandwiches and a microwave.”

“Very good food, but expect to wait. It's quite popular, and with all the cute outside seating, it really draws a crowd. We got the lobster eggs Benedict and it was very good. Coffee was just okay, and the maple in the maple latte was...subtle. Dog-friendly seating out on the lawn.”

“Remodeled, refreshed, and contemporary feel. Sports on every stetch of the restaurant. Relaxed family friendly space open to help out with any request. Two pool tables for the skilled game enthusiasts. Full bar is always at the ready. From finger food to full course meals this spot has everything for everyone and always welcoming new guests. They do deliver! Only spot in town that will bring food to your door :)”

“Amazing food- had the beet crostini and pork belly was to die for. Small plates only! Great selection of wine, too. The staff was a little impersonal to guests, but I was perfectly okay in my own little world. Great, authentic food!”

“The perfect quick bite and incredibly good food. The farmers breakfast sandwich was delicious on a Kaiser roll. Big chunks of bacon and sausage. My wife had the boardman chicken sandwich. So fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this place to avoid the long lines on Cottage St.”

“We made reservations for 4. Our guests got there before us not knowingly, however the host sat is at a table that was set for two and small for only two. Then we notice that our other guests were already there (why didn't the waiter mention 2 others already came in for the same name, could they be with you? Instead of just sitting us at a table for 2). Really strange. The "lazy lobster" was very small portion for the amount of money paid, and not a lot of flavor. Honestly didn't even seem like there was a whole lobster in the dish. The waitress we had, Becky, was really great. She definitely made the visit pleasant. We do recommend the blueberry pie for desert, this was phenomenal.”

“The food was amazing but the service wasn't very good. We had to wait for a hostess to seat us, it took a while to get our food and then we had to wait to get our bill.”

“Having a decent server can make/brake a restaurant meal. If you go, ask for another server than Michelle. She was inattentive & acted like we were a major inconvenience to her time away from her friends at the bar & her cell phone. Food is good. Appetizers run $8-40, burger $15 & up, entrees $30 & up. Baked seafood pletter had plenty of seafood along with potatoes & asparagus. Aside from the lousy service, a nice place to go for a meal & a drink.”

“Good service and menu is average in it's offering. Pretty much same as every other place but really good service, excellent clam chowder and fried scallops.❤️????”

“The food and service were good. The prices were a little higher than I expected but the restaurant is in a scenic location with good views from almost every table. It was busy the night we went but we still did not have to wait for a table. We were seated quickly and the server came over immediately. We had to park in a lot across the road which is pretty busy. Since we arrived at dusk, I was a little concerned that oncoming traffic could see us as we crossed the road especially because there is no traffic light to aid crossing”

“Super fresh, nice variety of menu items, wicked clean restaurant. Popped in for an early dinner and was so thrilled at how great my food was! Staff was kind and local which was nice because so many Bar Harbor employees are seasonal.”
